to me it's important, despite many focused elsewhere, but i watched Fukushima Lies again. They specifically say there was an earlier TEPCO meltdown, completely hidden. For whatever reason, there is no further evidence.

The question is why did they report it, and then left it hanging.

If it occurred, how do we not know? What did they see to make them report it in the final edit?

The show made clear that those responsible falsified a decade of construction and maintenance reports. Why they didn't provide such detail on such a strong charge, eye can't speculate.
