Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

It is axiomatic in European politics for conservatives to take for granted, and even take credit for, political innovations by progressives they opposed, and proceed to look for cutbacks, "efficiencies", and improved targeting of benefits even though there is no evidence of abuse or excess cost. It plays well with their constituencies who regard tax as theft, state benefits as an attack on freedom of choice, and state healthcare as an interference in the right to die without dignity...

It's not insurance that worries me. I'm not all that familar with the market in the Netherlands, but, sheesh, value for EUR is obvious.

I envy the research commitment.

Nothing gets done in the US unless it makes money. "Evidence-based" rubrics are a sham for the most mundane procedures. Wait. I mean, diagnostic testing. It's tough to get to the end of that buffet table ...

Ireland employs an unhealthy hybrid private insurance/state benefit model of healthcare, but in many western European democracies, private insurance is a luxury only the super rich require. Standard state benefits are more than adequate to meet virtually all real healthcare needs. Even in Ireland, if you are really ill, it's best to go to a public hospital, as they employ the best protocols and don't cherry pick only money making procedures. I distrust doctors whose clinical choices may be influenced by their profit margins...

When I was 22 years old, just got my college degree, I made a decision to take a new look In Europe for employment.

I had two job offers with all emoluments for Blue Cross health care plan, in time a pension fund, nice starting salary, work in the MIC, got my high security clearance ...

Basically, I determined it was not worth the downside of high risks: angst, gun violence, war policy, health care once you lost your job or in case of becoming handicapped. At the age of sixteen I earned money mowing lawns in a more affluent suburb in St. Louis County. An elderly couple I got to know real well. The husband had been a ranger up North and had done quite well. He served the best meat I have ever eaten. Both were in the seventies and had painstaking health issues. I cost them a small fortune and would bring them in some financial peril. A lifelong success story, wealth and a beautiful home ... a chance this would just evaporate. I was asked to drive them to the Mayo clinic in Minneapolis by car (big Cadillac) and drive back home by myself. This was certainly another reminder that the American Dream is an illusion ... reserved for a small group where luck plays a role.

In just a few years I was witness when two Dutch immigrant families had to return to the Netherlands due to misfortune: a husband killed in a car accident, father of two young children, and a highly professional chemical engineer lost his residence permit when a teenage son was arrested for shoplifting with some friends.

In the Netherlands I had been uncertain whether I made the smart decision for a long time. For the past twenty years I have felt quite comfortable and have been quite happy. I have been in excellent health over all the years, really never been sick even for a single day ... until end of March this year. Now living longer than I would have if I had stayed in the US. Big smile! :)

Nothing in the US makes sense without taking racism into account.  The US doesn't have a modern health care system because whites don't want blacks to have access to modern health care.

It would be nice to say the problem is southern whites, nice but inaccurate

I look forward to see how Europeans will express race discrimination (read: nationalism, xenophobia) in a number of public policy disciplines where functionaries are unaccustomed to cost/benefit analysis by race or "country of origin". The temptation to ignore disparity in demographic detail will be mighty.

I suspect they will respond like people usually respond: badly.  Japanese, for example, are spending huge sums of money on robotics so they can fill the labor force without being forced to accept immigration.

The alt-right movement has merged with the Conservatives in the US and UK. That's what Brexit and election of Trump was all about. I have written for a decade  on the leftist blogs about this fusion. After the [predicted] defeat of HRC in the presidential election of 2016 my analysis came under attack for heresy. Progressive Democrats? An endangered species ...

Just recently came across a person who has operated under the radar. Not once mentioned on this blog and really only once @BooMan in 2005. Jared Taylor [American Renaissance] is one of thousands of operatives paid for by the billionaires supporting chaos in our democratic institutions. Propaganda and a tranquil media do the rest.

Erkenbrand, alt-right in Netherlands

Three states with power have used the alt-right movement to secure votes in gaining a majority in elections: Israel - United Kingdom and the United States.

What YouTube Offers Right-Wingers -- National Review

AIN personalities tend to package their philosophy and policy alongside reactionary or attention-getting content, building brands that include rants, mini documentaries, and long-form interviews that can last hours. Their millions of followers tend to see them as trustworthy, authentic, and accountable -- three qualities Lewis identifies as the foundations of a successful channel. Such channels also typically evince a tone of edginess -- even danger. Iconoclasm is the norm. Lewis calls it a paradoxical mix of "hyper-traditional ideals with the rebellious positioning of past countercultural movements."

This serves as an important reminder of how increasingly common it is for young people to embrace anti-Left politics out of a desire to rebel. The success of the AIN is but one symptom of a larger evolution of the conservative disposition away from Burkean instincts of caution and respect in favor of juvenile defiance and distrustfulness.

There is no scenario in which these young men do not one day become an influential force in right-of-center politics, as either voters, consumers, or perhaps even media personalities or politicians themselves.
Where are the young women in this story?

Alrighty then.

Sexual ambivalence is a start, rather an artifact of eurocentric THIRD WAVE political rebellion against patronizing ideology --chiefly, iconography, role play, as in The Handmaid's Tale.

Define the term "conservative" or "right-wing" or "far-right": Who? What? Where? How does ideology proscribe the political and moral authority of "women" (and minorities)?

Apply to theory and practice of SJW (FIFTH WAVE) "issue-oriented" rebellion. Identify effects of "women's liberation" from not-liberal institutions, if any that are attributable to this "movement" --besides safe spaces and whisper lists.
