EU charts path for 'challenging' post-Brexit UK deal
Agreeing and ratifying a post-Brexit relationship bi-lateral trade agreement by the end of 2020 "will be immensely challenging, but we will give it our all, even if we won't be able to achieve everything," Barnier, wrote in a weekend online commentary for the Project Syndicate magazine website. The two sides will have just 11 months [?!] to settle that agreement following Britain's formal departure from the EU on 31 January.
de jure UK ratification of the Withdrawal Agreement implied. Why? Second reading of the Second EUWA 2019 a/o 20 Dec. Parliament's approval of the WA is literally baked into passage of "enabling" bill, obviating sec. 13 debate and MP vote on the treaty.
