Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Sweden Democrats now the largest party with 24% to the Social Democrats 23.5%.

A weak prime minister, an incompetent minister of justice, and a recent bombing in the posh part of Stockholm are likely factors in the continued descent of the Social Democrats. In a recent disastrous interview on national TV, the prime minister said that we haven't had these problems before, so we didn't see it coming. To follow up questions he then repeated that three times.

Those who have seen the exactly these problems coming have been branded as racists for over a decade.

The soonest the party can get rid of the prime minister is May. Likely the current government will stay until the next election, 2022, regardless of who, if anyone, leads the Social Democrats - There is no meaningful opposition in Sweden.

(Hopefully posted in the right place this time ...)
