Netanyahu's attempted alliance with Holocaust revisionists falls apart.
Poland on Monday pulled out of a summit in Jerusalem, triggering the collapse of the entire meeting, after the acting Israeli foreign minister said that Poles "collaborated with the Nazis" and "sucked anti-Semitism with their mothers' milk.
They can't suck in very much of it as Polish women switch to formula very quickly....The acting foreign minister is different from the deputy foreign minister, the one who revived the Judenzählung libel.

I'm really surprised he's not suggesting summary execution on the battlefield. It seems more in keeping with his generaly approach to life. Then again, this is an opportunity to bully Europe with uncomfortable demands, so he probably enjoys that.

I am surprise that you're surprised that Trump is not suggesting summary execution of British, German, and French nationals among POWs in Syria. Trump insanity and contempt for US intelligence sources "in the field" is well-documented.

Who would you suppose should execute this order -- al-Asaad's Army, Erdogan's Turks, or irregular (SDF) Kurds? Maybe Russians? Or mystery US special forces?

I am surprise that you're not surprised that Trump's "moderate rebel" of foreign origin Census (800) has passed 24hr MSM Fact Check. Is that figure remotely accurate?

Liberating their misguided, radicalized compatriots from certain death at the hands of mostly-Muslim enemy combatants is a diabolical moral dilemma that only Trump would dare foist on civilized governments. Unprecedented.

Surely all avenues from "uncomfortable demands" to justice lead to Guantanamo Bay prison cells -- so long as families are not separated.

ISIS bride Hoda Muthana's family files lawsuit against Trump
While in Syria she used her social media accounts to call for the death of Americans.
She has expressed remorse for what she did and claimed that she was "brainwashed" into going to Syria and partly motivated by youthful "arrogance." If permitted to return, Muthana has vowed to help de-radicalize other Americans.
"I know in fact that I was a citizen," Muthana told NBC News on Friday from the refugee camp in Syria where she's being held. "I prefer America to anywhere else," she said, adding that if she returns, "Of course, I will be given jail time."
Defense of her 5th Amd claim is more bizarre than one might imagine --and it doesn't involve NATO-favored "intervention" in Yazidi persecution!
The plaintiffs say a letter addressed to Muthana at her parents' residence in Alabama in 2016, under President Barack Obama, when she was in Syria, informed her that her passport was being revoked, but that this letter, too, was based on an inaccurate understanding of the date on which her father's diplomatic position was terminated.
Thar you have it: "uncomfortable demands" to which US allies in the GWOT need not respond, because STFU Trump?

Trifling: Maybe on appeal her attys will tack to a victim of "human trafficking" defense.

Diversity is the key to economic and political evolution.

Which areas are covered in Brexit Omnibus Bill?
(BREXIT Omnibus Bill seems to be the agreed short title)
The Government has published the Omnibus Bill, which deals with changes to laws that will be needed in the event of the UK leaving the EU without an agreement on 29 March.
Interesting stuff in that "government buildings" have concentrated on IE-UK continuity in Common Travel Area reciprocity (otherwise given short shrift in UK DRAMA press) and third-country regulated financial services as well as land/maritime transpo licensing
Next steps:

Week of 4 March - Brexit Bill in Committee, Report and Final Stage in the Dáil
Week of 11 March - Brexit Bill in Seanad

UNHCR |Joint Statement on the growing problem of homelessness among asylum-seekers in Cyprus, May 2018
1. We note that the number of people seeking asylum in Cyprus has continued to show marked increases over the years, mostly due to the ongoing conflict in Syria: 1,887 in 2014; 2,108 in 2015; 2,871 in 2016 and 4,499 in 2017. We believe, however, that the national reception system has proven to be inadequate to meet the needs of the increasing numbers of asylum-seekers and is in urgent need of a comprehensive reform. ...

As of April 21 of this year, rent controls are being abolished and a "free market for all" replaces social responsibility! Capitalizing on the forthcoming law, some landlords are evicting tenants from their homes so they can demand higher rents plus 8% annual rent increase and as much as 6-months security deposit instead of the customary two months!
A couple of British "ex-pats" demand satisfaction
We have lived in Cyprus 16 years, during which time we have made available countless pieces of information about ourselves and our circumstances. Tax matters would be but one area. The authorities must know more about us - and have it on record - than is imaginable. Quite why five years of bank statements are required escapes me. I find it extraordinarily intrusive and unnecessarily detailed when a simple statement from our bank, certifying that at least that number of years have passed with regular deposits and withdrawals, should surely be sufficient evidence of occupation here in Cyprus....

He proceeded to highlight the revisions that the government has tabled: Disconnecting the election of a new president from the dissolution of parliament; establish the direct election of the president from the people, if the parliament fails to do so in seven consecutive votes; the prime minister should be an elected deputy so that power is not transferred "to any technocrat;" establishing a specific number of four-year parliamentary terms for each lawmaker; amending the "despicable" Article 86 which regulates the immunities of government ministers from prosecution; changing church-state relations by explicitly establishing the neutrality of the state and the establishment of the civil oath.

A German hospital is trying to poach Polish nurses working in the UK, advertising jobs in English-Polish newspapers to encourage them to "come back home".

The advert, published in German and Polish, says: "Not only do we have the better pay, the better social benefits and better working hours ... We also have the better weather, the better food and the shorter way to Poland. And the security of an EU state."

Better food probably means similar to Polish food.
Pott said the hospital planned to offer Polish nurses a resettlement programme, which would include travelling to meet them in the UK, helping them find accommodation in Germany and introducing them to the Rhineland carnival.
Which will have them fleeing back to the UK.

Irrelevant and off topic personal opinion question -- I have heard that food in Germany is pretty good. The tone of your statement implies a preferene for the food in the UK. Now, sure, London is a global metropolis and is hard to beat -- as a former native of Los Angeles, I understand that the diversity and quality produced by multiple global immigrant communities is hard to beat. I am less sure about the rest of the country? How does non-London UK match up with random town in Germany, food wise?

Indian colleagues in the US claimed that Indian restaurants in London are the best in the world (but they did think that they were all inferior to good home cooking). The Indian restaurants I've eaten in in Scotland were very good, much better than anything I've seen in Germany - though if by UK you mean England, I'm not sure.

I suspect that both us and the article I cited are thinking of restaurants, whereas the Polish nurses are probably more concerned with what you can get in the supermarkets. I'm not sure there's much of a difference now, but this may change in just over 3 weeks.

European EPP members push to exclude Hungary's Orban - AFP
Members of the centre-right European People's Party have officially requested the exclusion of Hungary's populist Prime Minister Viktor Orban and his Fidesz party from the group, a top official said Monday.

Three months from the European Parliament election, the move reflects growing sentiment in the assembly's dominant bloc that Hungary's nationalist leader goes against EU values.

Also infuriating EPP members was a campaign in Hungary targeting European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, also of the EPP, who is accused of supporting illegal migration.

Budapest said on Saturday that it would put an end to the controversial campaign.

"Twelve EPP member parties from nine countries have requested the exclusion or suspension of Fidesz," party leader Joseph Daul told AFP, adding that the question will be discussed at a meeting on March 20.

"The decision rests with all EPP members and I cannot anticipate the outcome of the discussion," Daul added.

"an end to the controversial campaign"; sort of:

The end of Germany's Orbán affair - Politico.eu

Despite his party's use of anti-Semitic tropes and increasing shift toward authoritarianism, Orbán projected a tell-it-like-it-is ethos that was core to the CSU's own brand of politics. Come what may, the Hungarian leader knew he had powerful friends in Bavaria who would protect him.

No more. A change in the leadership of the CSU, ushering in a younger generation under Söder, triggered a reevaluation -- one the Hungarian appears not to have seen coming.

The German shift could be dangerous for Orbán on a number of fronts.
