"Engineering" as the gerund form of "to engineer" should translate as an infinitive form such as "diseñar" or something. There is the added complication that "to engineer" doesn't translate directly into Spanish, as Spanish is not as flexible as English when it comes to noun in verbs and verbing nouns.
