I could refer you to my posts of ten years ago concerning rape in the context of cultural relativism, i.e. Swedish law vs Australian practice.
But probably only another New Zealander would find it funny (we have been telling jokes about Australian sexual unsophistication since probably the 19th century)

They knew he was an Australian (what did they expect, roses?)
But he knew he was in Sweden. So fk him.

However I consider he has already served ten years prison for that (alleged) offense, so if it turns out that the UK extradites him to Sweden, then they drop the rape charges, and decline to extradite him to the US, that would be an ironic and fitting end to the story.
