It's the 16th of October here in the US, which means, I presume, per Boris's final and official plan, as announced  couple of weeks go, that the UK has Brexited.

Brexit happened last January, with the "transition period" due to end at the end of this year. October is just one more of those moving deadlines to get a deal prior to the end of transition period.

Right, so using the standard political-to-regular translation algorithm, "around the beginning of November" doesn't translate into "1 November +- five days," it translates into "maybe March-ish 2021."
