Yes. McConnell's been around a 35 years. His fortunes do don't turn with Trump--whose candidacy he immediately distrusted in 2016, because Mitch is party first. He's its commander and will only be leaving the senate on a gurney, alas.

Expect scheming to continue, whether or not he's minority leader.
