Besides unpersuasive, "subjective" House evidence, R/WH propounded one argument against conviction: taking Trump off the ballot is an abuse of House impeachment power.

What was HUAC Rev. Chairman Mr Manage Schiff's rationale for prosecuting Art. I, II: "The president's misconduct cannot be decided at the ballot box. We cannot be assured that the vote will be fairly won."
