Besides the poor conditions the guardsmen were met with, an outbreak of the coronavirus rippled through the ranks in Washington. It was not immediately clear how many guardsmen were infected with the virus, but reports indicated that somewhere between 100 and 200 service members could have been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Despite the threat, the citizen soldiers [BWAH!] on the ground [no cots ?!] say they have been given little information about the extension, and wonder why they are being forced to endure combat-like conditions in the nation's capital [sic] without a clear mission.
