The director of the Oxford Vaccine Group has claimed it is unfair to "bash the UK" over high Covid case numbers and compare it with the rest of Europe ...

Prof Sir Andrew Pollard, who helped create the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine, told MPs it was true the UK had high case rates but this was "very much related to the amount of testing":

    If you look across western Europe, we have about 10 times more tests done each day than some other countries, this is per head of population.

    So we really have to always adjust by looking at the data ... we do have a lot of transmission at the moment, but it's not right to say that those rates are really telling us something that we can compare internationally.

Do I hear a Trump believer argue a false case of Europe's worse Covid-19 policy of mitigation, lockdown and loosening rules advised by WHO ... Building Back Better?

The lack of data in this article made me check. I found

Denmark - 8 799 572 tests / 1 million people - 51 129 032 tests in total

🇫🇴 Faroe Islands - 5 374 003 / 1 milion people (total of 263 482 tests, 49 029 people in Faroe Islands)

🇨🇾 Cyprus - 5 171 429 tests / 1 milion people - 6 284 278 tests in total

🇱🇺 Luxembourg - 4 445 033 / 1 milion people (total of 2 822 476 tests, 634 973 people in Luxembourg)

🇦🇹 Austria - 4 294 827 tests / 1 million people - 38 877 709 tests in total

🇬🇧 United Kingdom - 2 560 859 tests / 1 million people - 174 655 862 tests in total

🇨🇿  Czech Republic - 2 131 203 tests / 1 million people - 22 860 689 tests in total

Not a huge difference.
