British Spooks Exploiting Populist Insurgency for Anti-Russia Campaign
SCHIFF: If people lie to the FBI, they should go to jail. But at the beginning of the Russia investigation, I said that any allegations should be investigated. We couldn't have known, for example, people were lying to Christopher Steele. So it was proper to investigate them, and le'ts not forget what we learned in that investigation. We learned that the Trump campaign chairman, Paul Manaforte, was giving internal polling data, campaign poling data, to Russian intelligence, while Russian intelligence was helping the Trump campaign ... guest host and former Trump State Department spokesperson Morgan ORTAGUS: Then, to be clear, he was fired half way through the campaign. SCHIFF: Well, he may have been fired, but the effor to get Russian help continued and even beyond the effort to get Russian help ... ORTAGUS: but you may have helped [spread Rusia disinformation] yourself for years by promotiong it, this informfation. I think, that's what Republicans, people who entrusted you as the intelligence committee chair, are so confused about your culpability in this. SCHIFF: Well, I completely disagree with your premise. It's one thing to say allegations should be investigated--and they were--it's another to say we should have should have seen in advance that some people were lying to Christopher Steele, which is impossible of course to do. But let's not use that as a smoke screen to somehow shield Donald Trump's culpability for inviting Russia to help him win the election--which they did--for trying to force Ukrain into helping him in the next election--which he did--into inciting an errection ...er insurrection--which he did. None of that is undercut, none of that serious misconduct is in any way diminished by the fact that people lied to Christopher Steele. ORTAGUS: No, I think, just to your credibility. That's well ...
There is, indeed, far more to Russia-Trump than the dossier. Just spend some time with the Senate Intelligence Committee's bipartisan report, a nearly 1,000-page document that lays out the whole mess.
The Senate Intelligence committee was limited to election influence by Russia only! Not the Ukraine, Israel, Saudi Arabia or the combined UK/UAE link to Cambridge Analytica with support from Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook corporation. Sucks.

You Cannot Discuss Disinformation and the Steele Dossier without Discussing Oleg Deripaska
My take on this matter, many bad actors in this soap were on the payroll of some intelligence group from FSB to MI-6, CIA and FBI. Unraveling the Gordian Knot ... not ever.

Chris Steele didn't need to be cautionary meeting Danchenko in London as the British spy agency MI-6 was complicit in the Orbis intelligence operation. A bit of arrogance leads to sloppiness ... episode is a complete mess, one of British very best spies coming out of the Moscow Cold. Advisor and colleague to Orbis and Steele was former UK Ambassador (and top spy) Sir Andrew Wood.
