Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.
This evening I got my booster vaccination. The health agency had decided for all age 60+ there would be no individual choice ... GGD policy decided a Moderna booster shot. Due to a blood clotting disorder I had a strong preference to continue with Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine. Her reaction, there was no way to deviate from set policy. Yeah, I know all about Covid-19 policy set by Hugo de Jong and Mark Rutte. The Pfizer vaccine would now be used for healthcare workers. I reacted by reminding her these were vaccinated with AstraZeneca before which had poor protection today and against the new variant. After a brief discussion I asked her the quickest way to the exit. I was fairly protected to the Delta virus and would have to  be careful anyway not to be infected by the Omicron variant. 😷

In the end she suggested to wait 90 min. until closure, if there were extra Pfizer jabs left, there would be a possibility. I had to get permission from higher up. In the end I was given permission to change to Pfizer due to medical indication.  Much appreciated, after the jab I took a shortcut to the exit and by-passed a very crowded recovery area for a 15 min. observation for side effects. Fresh air and a forty minutes bike ride home didn't disappoint. Feeling fine and resting a bit.

Got my booster on Monday. Moderna. My first dose was Pfizer, but they are saving that to vaccinate children : they are finally rolling out for ages 5-12 at last (a bit late to save Christmas, but never mind), I suppose because the number of school closures is getting too high.
