Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

In recent weeks, the infected are younger and with Omicron the hospital stay is shorter in number of days. There is sufficient space, however the ICU's are overflowing due to the higher number of overall cases. The normal surgeries have been postponed causing health issues and deaths. Urgent need for specialized care at ICU beds, many have left the profession and many are absent due to illness and burn-outs. For two years, policy has been lacking to fix problem. Incompetent managers and funding ... decision-making slow due to polder culture.
