China seems to be implementing a fairly light set of restrictions in the face of omicron. Possible imminent catastrophe? Example of Chinese government not exercising the iron fist of communist authority on its people, as would be consistent with western propaganda?

New Covid infections is very low in China: 1,443 in the previous 7 days and 670 in the 7 days before that. Internal controls are light.  Rules for arriving travelers are strict: a recent negative Covid test to get on the plane and then a 14 to 21 day quarantine upon arrival.
