Correct ... the Jewish pilgrimage is a steep climb towards the site of the tomb.

Mount Meron tomb of 2nd-century sage Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai for annual Lag Ba'omer commemorations.

Apparently it's a stairway as the masses moved up the Mt Meron.

Meron founded in 1949 on the ruins of the depopulated Palestinian village of Meiron

The Nakba, ethnic cleansing - the Palestinian population was removed from the village named Meiron.
