What is really unconscionable is dropping the mask mandate for schools and then dropping all mandates altogether, thereby letting delta rip through the younger population while they're not sufficiently vaccinated. Which means the envisioned long covid centers won't be enough to handle all the people who will be potentially incapacitated for life.
The people in charge are irresponsible gamblers.
Also, the Dutch government issuing vaccination certificates that are valid immediately after one shot of J&J is another forceful show of incompetence. Allowing indoor night clubbing to resume, well, who would've thought there would be superspreader events again?! Keep it outside, no problem. Flipping idiots.
Schengen is toast!
The SARS Covid virus is seeking every opportunity to find hosts ... the mutation offers a renewed opportunity. Even infected world leaders remain stupid or perhaps lost their key brain functions.
Those persons believing in G*d or Jahweh (Orthodoxy) for protection and renounce science will be infected in the 4th wave. The rightwing complot crowd too will be vulnerable.
The victims are youth and young adults who have been poorly informed about long Covid. There is medication to recover more quickly, my impression is that healthcare and doctors do not offer aftercare and often will never see the hospital from the inside.
Long-term follow-up of recovered patients with COVID-19 | The Lancet |
The Lancet summarizes a group of clinical observations. It is informative--not prescriptive. These confirm predictable, irreversible organ damage (or secondary conditions) caused by chronic pulmonary (lung) diseases whose etiology and treatment are extremely well-documented but not likely comprehensible to readers unfamiliar with medical jargon and anatomical nomenclature.
But they've witnessed friends and family disabled over time by "common" respiratory "ailments" for which no cure exists, and the "standard of care" is systematically indicated by subsequent degrees of organ failure and contra-indicated by differential treatment plans ordered by each speciality, isolating so to speak each anatomical sub-system of the human body. They fear dependencies of the infirm in their homes and resent the costs of obtaining "life-saving" weapons.
Dr. Carla Sevin, director of the ICU Recovery Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, said: "If you still need oxygen, you probably need a pulmonologist. If you have heart issues, you probably need a cardiologist. But for some of these other symptoms, it's not really clear who the best person is to see you.
Conversely, NBC News speaks the language of the US American "consumer-patient" accustomed to "a 'unique care plan'" and might well expect novel, "re-imagining" replacement of five vital organs of the human body inexplicably permeated by SARS-CoV-2.
Honestly every implementation of the entry permits I've seen up to now has been a joke. Sure, the Netherlands were pretty extreme in their bumbling, but we over here have "was infected with the Corona virus in the last six months" as a valid reason not to have to get tested even though we know the cross immunization between the variants is weak and everyone who recovered had Alpha, while everyone who'll get it in the next few months will get Delta.
