BALTOPS22 Maritime Exercise Concludes In Kiel on June 17, 2022

Gotland Island, Sweden served as a training ground for several air insertions and amphibious landings from the USS Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group-22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and Swedish counterparts.  Additionally, the exercise included complex personnel recovery training scenarios and a submarine rescue.

Unique to BALTOPS 22 was Sweden's role in hosting several training events, to include the training at Ravlunda. The entire exercise involved participation from 16 nations. The 14 NATO Ally and 2 partner nations provided over 45 ships, more than 75 aircraft, and 7,000 personnel.

The Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) with the embarked 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) concluded two successful training events with the Swedish Armed Forces and Standing NATO Maritime Group (SNMG) 1 while operating in the Baltic Sea, Sept. 4, 2022.
