Unfortunately it's hard for me to imagine Ukraine holding up against a committed Russian invasion aimed at taking Kyiv.  (I hope I'm wrong, of course, and in any case I hope bloodshed is as small as possible.)

I don't know what comes next.  I have my doubts about Russia's ability to hold Ukraine.  But I think taking Putin at his word they need to start building up on the NATO lines.
