One might want to read these and then, if not understand, at least have an inkling of what the Russian leadership has in their mind, almost as if they told it themselves.

I think it's much, much harder to understand what EU wants, or what USA wants (although destruction of EU and Russia come to mind). NATO is the only easy one, it's only purpose is to keep on existing, no matter what. Since nobody cares what Ukraine wants, it's not worth anybody's while to figure it out
