Days ago, Russia had besieged two cities in Ukraine; Mariupol and Volnovakha. Yet, it has recently announced a temporary ceasefire in these areas. Surprise, surprise.
It's a tactic Putin has been using for years in his various wars. When a city is under siege, they agree to humanitarian corridors then start shelling once the refugees start evacuating. Ha ha ha, gotcha.

Works every time; obviously the besieged don't believe a word the Russians say, but what choice have they got?
