An official from the White House's Office of Management and Budget told Defense News earlier this week that Biden has approximately $250 million in spending authority left out of the $3.5 billion* that Congress authorized for the president to use in transferring military equipment to Ukraine from U.S. stockpiles.
The Defense Department received $6.5 billion in FY22 [NDAA] Ukraine funding. [...] Last month, Washington finalized the fiscal 2022 $1.5 trillion spending bill [CONSOLIDATED APPROPRIATIONS ACT, 9 Mar 2022], which provides $13.6 billion in new aid for the Ukraine crisis.
* $6.5B + $13.6B + $3.5B ± $800M = $23.6B - $24.4B appropriated Jan 2021-Apr 2022 which US "Ukraine Caucua" will "supplement" $33B in next 30 days, bring total through Q2 to ~ $56B.
