Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

There are too many similarities between Ireland and Holland over the last 200 years and the division and discrimination of the Catholic minority. Hits close to home. The secession of Belgium made the division more pugnant as our Southern neughbours had a vast majority of Catholics.

I had started to write a diary a few weeks ago, didn't get a chance to finish it.

Orange March as an ugly memory. Annual provocation and so unnecessary, the KKK don't march publicly in a fascist America today. Northern Ireland was never open to a Nelson Mandela personality or a reconciliation effort. Even today a political stalemate to reach a majority and power. No humility. Defeat hatred, no more war. ☮️

From my memory, the IRA did some very stupid acts, same criticism of the power of British occupation.
