Reflections on whether the West has crossed any red lines are a thing of the past, since the United States has openly declared its plans of defeating Russia strategically, the Russian Foreign Ministry has said: [_link] pic.twitter.com/Im4qIcEIWL— TASS (@tassagency_en) January 25, 2023

How does this conflict not go nuclear when one side is not a rational actor? If the west is not willing to lose there will be endless incremental escalations. The US has the air power to conventionally defeat Russia. Russia would have to go nuclear to prevent this. For the US hegemony to stay on top it must destroy China. It can't destroy China until it destroys Russia. The cherry on top is the economic destruction of the EU in the process. Yes this line of thinking is not rational but it appears to be policy. You go to WW3 with the leaders you have, not the leaders you want or wish to have.

Ignoring German polls and risk of escalation, US has convinced Germany to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine. This is a victory for what Stratfor founder George Friedman described in 2015 as the US "primordial interest": severing "the relationship between Germany and Russia." pic.twitter.com/VaSyRnylOX— Aaron Maté (@aaronjmate) January 24, 2023
