Bashing France was actually a smart move from the Bush administration. It was focusing the attention of american people on a small country which was opposed to war, and somehow hid them the fact that it was not France which was against the war, but most of the world.

... When I think that my country, France, was treated and is still treated as à coward country because of this wonderfull and true speech.... I'm very disappointed by the US. I thought you were à big country, but the only thing you can do is to criticize by using propaganda.... Because of this, French army is now considered as cowardice...
