Acquittal for Heinrich Bücker!, 27 Apr
[...]
In the plea, the attorney warned that a conviction would violate Bücker's right to freedom of expression. The main purpose of his speech was to recall the fascist attack on the Soviet Union and against this background to warn against renewed collaboration with Ukrainian fascists.

The verdict followed immediately afterwards: Acquittal! However, the court left no doubt about its rejection of Bücker's political stance. According to the judge, the acquittal was only because the speech at the memorial was only held in front of the "fans of Heinrich Bücker" - a depoliticization and insult to the people gathered in Treptower Park for the commemoration. Trying not to create a precedent here, it was again emphasized that the statements made by Bücker were wrong and that Russia was waging a "war of aggression contrary to international law". In the judge's view, the potential of the speech to "incite the psychological climate of the population" was not given due to the limited number of listeners. Thus, the judgment leaves a stale aftertaste.

At this point we document the statement that Heinrich Bücker had prepared for the court for uninterrupted reading:...

The Berlin judge [Marieluis Brinkmann] also broke German court precedent and judicial practice by announcing in her ruling a finding of fact and law about which she had refused to allow any evidence or argument to be presented and tested in court.  In the Ukraine, she announced, Russia is waging a "war of aggression in violation of international law."

In her ruling the judge signalled that the German authorities want to prevent the Buecker case from becoming a rallying cause for free speech advocates across the country. "They want the issue to go away as quickly as possible," Buecker said. "They realize it's becoming too public."

Conviction of Antiwar Organizer Heinrich Bücker

German warmakers target antiwar organizer Heinrich Bücker

Bücker's speech thus reported information that many historians consider factual. Since pro-fascist groups -- Bandera, the Azov battalion -- are part of the Kiev regime, his facts dispute the imperialist propaganda that describes the current Ukrainian regime as "democratic."

Bücker writes of a "narrowing of political space" in Germany to express opinions opposing German participation in the proxy war in Ukraine against Russia. The charges brought against him for his speech, for which he can face up to three years in prison and a fine, is proof of it. This increase in repression of antiwar forces, he writes, also exists in other European Union countries.

The U.S.-led war and sanctions against Russia, which the coalition government in Berlin has backed in full, has forced sacrifices on Germany's working class. Many won't afford to heat their homes this winter and put food on the table. Meanwhile, big capital in Germany has accelerated investments abroad, including building factories in U.S. states with union-busting conditions.

Hankyoreh | Nobel-winning economist suggests care work visas as remedy for Korea's low birth rate, 3 May fertility quotient
Michael Kremer, a professor of economics at the University of Chicago and Nobel economic prize laureate, suggests immigration as a solution to South Korea's population problem. Allowing special visa programs for non-nationals to engage in care work would have a positive effect on the economy with few side effects.
[...]
The argument is that opening up immigration for occupations like household work and care work would help increase the overall labor force and allow women to enter the labor market free from the burden of childcare. Kremer explained that while some argue that there is a cost, if women who have had career breaks due to caregiving are able to work, it could lead to increased fiscal revenues, including tax generation.

The April report was based on an investigation by French writer Quentin Muller for the NGO Greenpeace [27.09.22].

Titled "Total's black waters, revelations on major pollution in Yemen," Mueller documents widespread pollution caused by TotalEnergies in Shabwa, Hadhramaut, and Marib provinces, with the collaboration of the government of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The French investigation revealed TotalEnergies' burial of millions of liters of toxic water, oil spills, use of non-standard operating techniques, contamination of the country's largest groundwater, and the firm's failure to recycle toxic waste. The report also described the harm caused to land, animals, and people due to the leakage of chemicals, air pollution, and the impact of the French multinational's operations in surrounding areas.

The French oil giant's actions in Yemen came under additional scrutiny in February when the Geneva-based legal advocacy NGO MENA Rights [23.02.23] filed a lawsuit against the company, accusing it of human rights abuses committed inside a gas plant operated by one of its subsidiaries. MENA Rights alleges the Balhaf gas liquefaction plant in the southern province of Shabwah had been converted into a prison run by UAE forces. The group is seeking compensation for two men allegedly imprisoned and tortured at the plant. The French firm is the largest shareholder of Yemen LNG, the company operating the Balhaf gas plant, where both men were allegedly taken in 2018 and 2019.

EU High Commissioner's aviation safety measures and counter-trrrism beliefs
"This latest decision by Georgian authorities raises concerns in terms of Georgia's EU path and Georgia's commitments to align with EU decisions in the foreign policy as foreseen in the EU-Georgia Association Agreement," [Peter] Stano said at a press briefing in Brussels on Friday.

Georgia previously complied with around 40% of the EU's foreign policy and security decisions, which was not much, and the share stands at 31% this year, Stano said. "This is very regrettable," he said.

Earlier this week, "the UN's International Civil Aviation Organization concerns were conveyed to the Georgian authorities regarding the over all* security of the Russian aviation sector and Russian aircraft," Stano said.

Though the government opened some new avenues for immigration, the fate of many people is largely left to a U.S. government app only used for scheduling an appointment at a port of entry and unable to decipher human suffering or weigh the vulnerability of applicants.

The CBP One™ app is a key tool in creating a more efficient and orderly system at the border "while cutting out unscrupulous smugglers who profit from vulnerable migrants," the Department of Homeland Security said in an email to The Associated Press.

CBP OneTM began the rollout of its features, starting with an Inspection Appointment request feature for brokers/carriers/forwarders and I-94 Entry for travelers. Since then, CBP has continued to add new capabilities to CBP OneTM. Please see the below list of currently available features for more information. As new features are released, information will be made available on our website.

CBP OneTM is available now to schedule appointments. CBP OneTM and the Advance Submission and Appointment Scheduling process are free to use. Noncitizens located in Central or Northern Mexico who seek to travel to the United States may use the U.S. Customs and Border Protection CBP OneTM app to submit information in advance and schedule an appointment to present themselves at the below Southwest Border land ports of entry (POEs):

• Arizona: Nogales
• Texas: Brownsville, Eagle Pass, Hidalgo, Laredo, and El Paso
• California: Calexico and San Ysidro
Please see the Stats and Summaries page for official metrics related to Title 8 and Title 42 encounters.

But since its rollout in January October 28, 2020, the app has been criticized for ["]technological problems["]. Demand has far outstripped the roughly 1,000 appointments available on the app each day.

SARS-CoV-19 origin story just won't quit so long as "whistleblowers" creep out of the woodwork as is convenient.

Presumably, David Martin MD, appeared for a euparl COVI committee hearing this year. I'v no idea—other than grafting vdL graft to Pfizer-BioNtech contracts—why the committee would recall Martin's decade-old testimony and cannot immediately locate either Martin's c.v. or the source material in EP (ERC) catacombs, as is the custom. However, finding Martin featured in a two-part documentary Plandemic (2020), which normally is how "conspiraciy" dies, piqued my interest in obscure H1N1 "platform" development.

Mr Dotcom also dropped in the tread his TWTR Space interview (FKA "podcast") with a pair of well-connected, somewhat contrite career beneficiaries of NIH-NIAID, and likely USAMRIID, funding (run time 02:35:00) who also happen to be 2022-minted authors purporting subject matter expertise with computational bio, the BWC protocols, and scale of investment in current US "bio-economy" P&E. As one might expect, the discussion eventually degenerated—as prodigies of the libertarian persuasion will do—into white-board schema on future research into WMD combining coronovirus and hushed tones of ebola.
