Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Not ready for a post-American world: European views on NATO | Brookings - June 2015 |

In key European states such as Germany, France, and Italy, at least half of respondents said that their country should not use military force to defend a NATO ally if attacked by Russia. Even normally steadfast Poland could not quite muster a majority in support of the use of force to defend its neighbors. Among Americans and Canadians, meanwhile, despite their greater distance from the threat, support for Article V remains generally strong.

In Greece, a poll found that the war is now the third most important concern (9%), with the majority of people being more worried about high prices and the cost of living (56%) as well as unemployment (12%).

My only wish over the years, there would be a majority to put actions to words: "Never again" and invest in diplomacy to bring people together. Xenophobia and Islamophobia leads to rightwing populist leaders exploiting differences leading to war.
