European countries have been under pressure to get more involved in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Almost all EU countries showed unequivocal support for Israel following Hamas' attack on October 7. But as its relentless pounding of Gaza carries on, many have started to shift, some even going as far as imposing arms embargoes on Israel.

The Dutch government has been criticised from within [top government advisory committee on foreign policy] for not doing enough in the conflict. And urged to join with other European countries to stop the conflict from spreading further ... and recognizing Palestinian statehood.
