Zelenskyy fixer Yermak resigns over corruption | EurActiv - 1 hr ago | Time for new elections and end to rule by martial law A major corruption scandal and mounting accusations that the Ukrainian presidency is using the judiciary to intimidate and silence critics have rocked Kyiv (Photo credit De Volkskrant) Andriy Yermak, a key aide to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, resigned on Friday after his office was searched by the country's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU). Yermak is suspected of using his position as head of Zelenskyy's office to have law enforcement pursue NABU investigators and those prosecuting anti-corruption cases. Considered Zelenskyy's closest adviser, Yermak was named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2024. He had been in his post since February 2020, but his relationship with Zelenskyy dates back to the president's pre-political life, when he was a comic actor. Yermak went on to serve on Zelenskyy's election campaign team when he ran for President in 2019.

A Team: "Love it when a plan comes together." 😊 Amnesia and Gaza Genocide
Yermak's resignation will lead to the loss of Zelensky's control over the parliamentary majority and the government, as well as political control over the SBU and the State Security Bureau, because it was Yermak who coordinated the political part of the work of these structures, including their actions against the NABU. In parliament, either the leadership of the Servants of the People faction headed by David Arakhamia will seize control (in this case, most likely, the current government will remain with the strengthening of the role of First Deputy Prime Minister Mikhail Fedorov), or the "anti-Zelensky coalition" (Petro Poroshenko and deputies close to grant structures). He will be able to split the "servants of the people" and form a new majority, passing a vote of no confidence in the Cabinet of Ministers. Also, suspicion and a measure of restraint for Yermak will mean that he will not be able to remain the head of the negotiation group for a peaceful settlement. Driscoll is unlikely to meet him in jail.

Zelensky's "rule of law": "The President's Office was considering charging David Arakhamia, the head of the faction, with treason on November 20, the day of President Volodymyr Zelensky's meeting with the Servant of the People faction - they were trying to find the "culprits" of the leak in the Mindich case.
