Finland said Russia remains unwilling to compromise in ongoing discussions over the Ukraine war, warning that Moscow still seeks the full objectives of its invasion. The foreign minister said peace cannot be lasting while "evil persists," calling for at minimum a ceasefire on energy infrastructure to prevent civilian casualties. Finland backed a future NATO membership for Ukraine and accused Russia of using intimidation rhetoric. Helsinki said Russia is increasingly desperate for an exit [off-ramp] and that any peace deal must protect Ukraine from future military or political interference. Finland also urged progress on using frozen Russian assets to support war victims.
