US War Propaganda is becoming more important than fighting terror, explain our foreign policy or build a true coalition with partners for freedom. Not with partners in dictatorships or suppression like: Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Pakistan, Uzbekistan and other central Asia nations.

The ghost of Al Zarqawi has spread over London attacks - a witness claims Abu Musab was seen walking on his missing leg early Thursday morning. Explanation ... a bit too much US propaganda in MSM.

US Probing Bomb Claim of al-Qaida Group
By Katherine Shrader, AP

WASHINGTON July 8, 2005 -- Counterterrorism officials are taking seriously a claim by a little-known group calling itself "The Secret Organization of al-Qaida in Europe" that it staged the deadly attacks on the London transit system. Among theories investigators are pursuing is whether the group may be linked to Iraq's terror chief, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. Current and former government officials agree Thursday morning's attacks were trademark al-Qaida: near-simultaneous explosions, using improvised [exploding] devices IED, aimed at Westerners.

A senior U.S. counterterrorism official acknowledged that the Internet posting by al-Qaida in Europe was considered a "potentially very credible" claim, in part because the message appeared soon after the attacks and didn't appeared rushed.

Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi

More below the fold »»

Officials couldn't say whether the organization behind Thursday's posting -- or the attacks -- was considered part of the al-Qaida core answering to Osama bin Laden, an affiliate group receiving support from the main organization, or just an ideological cousin.

Clues also suggested that the rail and bus bombings might be linked to al-Zarqawi, who pledged allegiance to bin Laden last year after he successfully coordinated or executed dozens of grisly terror attacks in Iraq. Jordanian-born al-Zarqawi has indicated a desire to reach beyond Iraq and attack Western targets, and intelligence reports indicate bin Laden has encouraged him.

HIGHLIGHT
Vince Cannistraro, a former CIA counterterrorism chief, said links to al-Zarqawi were certainly possible. Britain's domestic intelligence agency has known about operatives related to him inside the country for some time, including a cell that was disrupted in early 2003 making ricin in a London apartment.

But, Cannistraro said, sorting out the relationships is increasingly difficult because al-Qaida no longer has a topdown structure. "They are depending on affiliates and groups around the world. They encourage them, they send them money, but it is not like they can plan from Kandahar" in Afghanistan.

That base, he and others often remind, is gone.

After the fall of the Taliban in 2001, senior intelligence officials including CIA Director Porter Goss have warned that groups ideologically driven by al-Qaida have formed a broader movement able to carry out attacks independently.

Organizations with names similar to al-Qaida in Europe emerge only to sometimes disband a short time later. Al-Zarqawi is thought to have operated under a number of different names in Iraq, most recently using al-Qaida Between Two Rivers or al-Qaida in Iraq. One senior counterterrorism official said the name's formula was akin to al-Qaida in Europe, a potential hint they may be linked.

America's Ministry of Propaganda Exposed

A Strategy of Lies: How the White House Fed the Public a Steady Diet of Falsehoods

WASHINGTON November 7, 2003 -- Colonel Sam Gardiner (USAF, Ret.) has identified 50 false news stories created and leaked by a secretive White House propaganda apparatus. Bush administration officials are probably having second thoughts about their decision to play hardball with former US Ambassador Joseph Wilson. Joe Wilson is a contender. When you play hardball with Joe, you better be prepared to deal with some serious rebound.

Gardiner's dogged research identified a long list of stories that passed through Rumsfeld's propaganda mill. According to Gardiner, "there were over 50 stories manufactured or at least engineered that distorted the picture of Gulf II for the American and British people." Those stories include:
The link between terrorism, Iraq and 9/11
● Iraq's possession of chemical and biological weapons.
● Iraq's purchase of nuclear materials from Niger.
● Saddam Hussein's development of nuclear weapons.
● Aluminum tubes for nuclear weapons
● The existence of Iraqi drones, WMD cluster bombs and Scud missiles.
● Iraq's threat to target the US with cyber warfare attacks.
● The rescue of Pvt. Jessica Lynch.
● The surrender of a 5,000-man Iraqi brigade.
● Iraq executing Coalition POWs.
● Iraqi soldiers dressing in US and UK uniforms to commit atrocities.
● The exact location of WMD facilities
● WMDs moved to Syria.

Condoleezza Rice Newest Lies Out of Desperation?

WASHINGTON (AFP) - US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice ruled out any peace deals with terrorists, calling those behind the deadly bomb blasts in London "cold-blooded killers."

The US-led war on terrorism "was a worldwide war against ideals" and that "we just have to remember there's no separate peace to be made with terrorists." The terrorists are "after our way of life and we have to defeat them" and "there is no other way to deal with them than through strength," Rice told the BBC Service network in an interview in Washington.

Asked to comment on concerns among the British over London's involvement in the US-led war in Iraq, Rice reminded that the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States occurred before the war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Iraq had become "a central front" in the war on terrorism and the terrorists knew that if they lost in Iraq, it would deal a "tremendous blow to their ideology of hatred and their sense of inevitability of their victory. "So we certainly have to defeat them. We have to stay strong."

Rice, among architects of the US-led war on Iraq, said the world had "to deal with the circumstances that are producing this ideology of hatred" especially in the Middle East. "This ideology of hatred has to be defeated. It has to be defeated by replacing it with an ideology of hope. And a free and democratic Iraq is going to be an important pillar of this new and different kind of Middle East."

Rice signed a condolence book at the British embassy in Washington to mark the bloody killings in the British capital and told reporters later that the attacks would strengthen the global resolve "to root out this scourge against humanity and against civilization."

I have heard the BBC interview and was astonished to hear her arguments, nothing less than a convinced CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS. I sensed words and a voice of desperation, not of leadership of the Free World.

Rebuttal by terror experts from Great Britain criticised her arguments, I fully agree. Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden want the US to stop meddling in the Middle-East and leave with their troops from all Arab countries. The policy statement by Condoleezza Rice is a new big fat LIE.

Doctor Rice is treating symptoms, not the disease!

Condolence

BBC reported bodies are still trapped in the commuter train wreckage in the tunnels. Above ground, people from London have started to put up posters of friends and family members, who have gone missing from the moment the bombs went off yesterday morning.

    (AFP/Adrian Dennis)

July 8, 2005 -- A friend of a suspected victim is comforted near Tavistock Square, where a terrorist bomb destroyed a bus in London. For the loved ones of those missing and as-yet still accounted for the agony was just beginning.

An account of an employee, a 19 year old French boy who went missing. He normally reported for work between 9 - 9:30 am, and traveled on the subway lines which were attacked. Calls to his mobile phone go unanswered as it changes to voice mail and since the attack, have filled its memory. The parents from France will come over to learn what has happened to their son.

Desperate Londoners hunted on Friday for missing relatives

Distraught relatives searched for missing loved-ones around hospitals, many handing out leaflets appealing for information.

"It is killing us," said Kim Beer, searching for her hair stylist son Phil, 22, who might have been on a bombed train. "He always kisses me and cuddles me and tells me he loves me every time he goes out of the door -- which is what he did yesterday and I haven't seen or heard from him since."

Still not sure I understand. It seems to me that even if the evil America and Britain and Israel were to vanish from the face of the earth, countries like Iraq and Saudi Arabia and Egypt would still have massive problems. Terrorist acts in the West won't change that.

You can talk all day long about America's "propaganda ministry" but it doesn't accomplish anything. The problems are rooted in the political and religious systems in the Islamic world, and the West has almost nothing to do with it.

Simply stated - Invasion of Iraq was a great waste of people and resources. In addition, it works counterproductive as it creates the terrorists for new generations. Nice legacy left by Bush/Cheney for our grandchildren.

Very similar to foreign policy under Alle American president Reagan and $$bn CIA support for Saddam Hussein in Iraq and Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan from 1980-88. Bush Jr. doesn't mop up, rather aggravates the terror problem.

A number of Arab world watchers have described the claim as credible. This group also claimed the Madrid bombings. An interesting reference I read in Juan Cole's Salon article:

The phrase "Qaida al-Jihad" refers to the 2001 decision made by Ayman al-Zawahiri, a leader of the Egyptian terrorist group al-Jihad al-Islami, to merge his organization into bin Laden's al-Qaida ("the Base"). The joint organization was thus renamed Qaida al-Jihad, the "Base for Holy War." (Zawahiri and bin Laden had allied in 1998.)

The group claiming responsibility for the London bombings represents itself as a secret, organized grouping or cell of "Qaida al-Jihad in Europe." It is significant that they identify themselves as "in Europe", suggesting that they are based on the continent and have struck from there into London. This conclusion is bolstered by their description of the attack as a "blessed raid". One raids a neighboring territory, not one's own.

Ayman al-Zawahiri, the Egyptian terrorist, makes the death of Egypt's highest envoy in Iraq on the same day as the London bombing not just coincidental, more likely a message to western intelligence - our terror effort is linked and global. We can still strike at will at the Zionists and Crusaders of the West. It was also a recent message from Al Zawahiri that foretold an upcoming attack.

Egypt's highest envoy al-Sherif killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD (CP) July 7, 2005 -- Egypt will close its mission in Baghdad and withdraw its staff after al-Qaida's wing in Iraq said it had killed an abducted top Egyptian envoy. Iraq's chief government spokesman said the killing and Thursday's bombings in London show terrorism "is not only targeting Iraqis but everyone".

Al-Qaida's group warned it would go after "as many ambassadors as we can" to punish countries that support Iraq's U.S.-backed leadership. The announcement from Iraq's most feared terror group appeared on an al-Qaida-linked website and featured a brief video showing blindfolded Egyptian diplomat, Ihab al-Sherif, wearing a polo shirt. The video did not show his death but the statement promised more details later.

"We announce in the name of 'al-Qaida in Iraq' that the verdict of God against the ambassador of the infidels, the ambassador of Egypt, has been carried out. Thank God," a written statement in posting said, adding: "Iraq is no longer safe for the infidels."

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry offered condolences for the "assassination" and an Egyptian diplomat who spoke in Cairo said the government is sure al-Sherif is dead "from our own means".

Biography and roots of a terrorist Ayman al-Zawahri

During President Sadat's Open Door' economic policy in the late 1970s that Ayman al-Zawahri completed his graduate studies in Medicine. Sadat's rapid "coca-cola-ization" of an undemocratic Egypt had started and colleges across the nation brimmed with social unrest. Islam became the countervailing force to what was perceived as a Judeo-Christian attempt to weaken religious beliefs and values. This was particularly true of the School of Medicine, an especially fertile ground for the activities of Islamists as opposed to other departments at Cairo University.

It was just about the time when Ali and his brother were selling Arabian horses from a makeshift stud farm in Atascadero, California, in 1982-3 that Ayman al-Zawahri MD served time in jail for his association with the Jihad that claimed responsibility for President Sadat's October 1981 assassination. The downside to the Camp David's Accords (peace treaty with Israel) and its concomitant economic support from the West was that an entire generation of disillusioned and confused young Egyptians had defected to the ranks of Islamist militants, egged on by rising corruption and Khomeni's anti-American rumblings in Iran.

After three years in jail, where even the most confirmed secular will turn into a potent militant, Ayman al-Zawahri closed his modest surgery located in the worn-out section of Maadi and left for Saudi Arabia a rancorous man.

Some within Ayman's family claim he was wrongly arrested and subjected to terrible torture. In a recent CNN interview, a lawyer relation, Mahfouz Azzam, stated that Ayman was 'an outright humanitarian hence the reason why he joined the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (Red Cross equivalent) following his release from jail.'

From Saudi Arabia, Ayman made it to Pakistan about the time when Afghanistan was shrugging off its Soviet occupiers. It was while practicing medicine in Peshawar that Ayman al-Zawahri met his partner in terror Osama Bin Laden.

    Latest News Update --

    THE ATTACK:
Three bombs exploded almost simultaneously around 8.50am on three packed Underground trains in north, east and west London. A fourth bomb ripped through a bus less than an hour later.

Each device weighed less than 4.5kg and was packed with high explosives.

The bombs on the Underground were likely left on the floor of a carriage by a double door, which would have typically been filled with rush hour commuters. The fourth bomb on the bus was likely left on the floor or on a seat.

    DISILLUSIONED

Mediterranean temperament, undergoing some personal hardships, separation of parents, one parent passed away, feelings of western hostility towards Muslim community, no equality on labor market although highly qualified and educated. More often 2nd and 3rd generation nationals from Arab descent, deepening religious soul-searching, welcomed in mosques by foreign clerics as teachers of fundamental, pure Islam, attachment to a new ideology and vision of life, contacts with international brothers, focus on evil of the West.

All Islamist troublemakers in the Netherlands are well educated and very young from 16-23 years of age, Dutch citizens, double nationality with two passports and allegiance, traveled to Chechnya, Yemen, Middle East or Pakistan/Kashmir.

Indonesia and Malaysia is another fertile region for Islamist recruitment with extreme popularity of Muslim hero Osama Bin Laden. Fueled by backlash on Muslims after 9-11 attacks, Israeli-Palestinian conflict [Bush doen't want solved], Madrid bombing and minor incidents in The Netherlands that gain prominent attention by the media, TV panel discussion, Arab Satellite TV, and Internet hate sites by both White Power and Islam fundamentalists. Access to modern media is 100% with no age limit or threshold.

    CONCLUSION:
OBL wants George and Tony exactly positioned where they have led the Western Free World - Afghanistan, Iraq and in partnership with dictatorial regimes with poor Human Rights record. Countries fulfilling the latter description: Russia, Uzbekistan, Gyrgystan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and Egypt where minorities are oppressed.

OBL wants George and Tony to stay the course and crow victory. Meanwhile recruitment of Islamist followers is remarkably high, setting the stage for further confrontation, especially as Condoleezza Rice is now advocating it's a CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS.

Al-Qaeda ordered attacks on Europe on May 29: Spanish newspaper

MADRID (AFP) - The Islamist extremist group Al-Qaeda ordered attacks on Europe in a May 29 Internet message that the Spanish secret service forwarded to their British counterparts at the weekend, a Spanish newspaper reported.

The Spanish national intelligence centre (CNI) sent a copy of the Arabic-language message -- signed by "Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades -- European division" -- on Saturday to the British intelligence service MI5, and it was also published Saturday by the daily El Mundo.

The message, entitled "Letter to Mujahedeen in Europe", states in part: "We now call on the mujahedeen around the world to launch the expected attack".

The Spanish secret service has been examining the statements of the European division of Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades, named after an Al-Qaeda leader who was killed in Afghanistan, since the Madrid bombings, the newspaper said.
