Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

It takes a while to add in the code and url's etc for each comment box unless you do it all in a text doc first.  Took me ages to do my first one and then I managed to speed it up.

Oh that's gorgeous, I love forms like that. It looks very similar to the stuff the roof of the Millenium Centre in Cardiff Bay is made from.

Very nice.

Now I have to add Bilbao to my list of places to visit in Spain.

Something else shiny

Saturn V

All I see is a "bare" Apollo command module. Is a Saturn-V mockup underneath?

I knew somebody would pick me up on that. :) It's part of the Apollo 11 exhibit at Kennedy Space Center. The Saturn V is above and behind. The original module is in the Smithsonian.

It always worries me when you can't see the photographer in a shot like this. :)

Yes. Somewhere between the forum and the Trevi fountain. I think.

This skylight features in a recurring dream of mine.  I blame it on my architecture kick of '03 when I was renting architecture documentaries like they were going out of style.  This building was featured in one of the docs.

Something orange

by Sassafras on Sun Oct 29th, 2006 at 04:47:57 PM EST
This reminds me of the exhibit that was done in Central Park NY a couple of years ago - I can't remember the artist's name but there were orange flag like things -- like this.

Where was this?

I had the good fortune to see this in person. I would highly recommend seeing whatever Christo and Jean-Claude are doing, next exhibit is in Colorado.

Shiny bits...Gehry do the Guggeneheim addition too?  Right now, I'm over him as he's turned Venice Beach into something it should never have been (unaffordable to me) and we're losing a lot of old beach bungalows to 3500 square foot, Gehry-insprired cubes of corrugated crap.

But I'm not bitter or anything.

by fabooj (fabooj@mail.com) on Sun Oct 29th, 2006 at 09:51:05 PM EST
Yes, he did. I always wonder how his places will look in about 20 years. I've seen metal-sheathed buildings after hail storms - they look like really bad cases of acne. That's what I expect the laser center he designed at UIowa to look like; possibly the Business school at Case Western, too.
