Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

The first 1597 names:

A quick look at the first 1,597 names on the stop Blair petition. Sprinkled throughout this short blog are some quotes from the petition.

Tony Blair as president of the EU would just confirm the increasingly wide-spread view, that such organizations are wholly corrupt and impervious to democratic influence.

Blair has left me without a sense of national pride. He has taken my country to an illegal war, having lost sight of the fact that he is meant to represent the whole.

Having him as EU President would certainly mark an era of doing what Tony feels best, as opposed to what the majority feel is best.

For a man who should be held to account over war crimes, Tony Blair is in no position to be given the opportunity of election to president of the EU. It would be a disaster and disgrace for all EU citizens and the rest of the world.

The last chap who wanted to be President of all Europe was also a war criminal - the blood of millions of innocents on his hands. It's time to let a person who is not a war criminal have a go.

No, 3-4 earlier ones were already dealt with. Still, email confirmation seems to bother most trolls.

I finally managed to get a connection in a Paris restaurant. I'm blogging while eating delicious oysters...

Being mischevious, I didn't see the name of our esteemed leader in the list, unless his real name is Julien
