Welcome to European Tribune. It's gone a bit quiet around here these days, but it's still going.

Weekend photos

by vbo Thu Nov 8th, 2012 at 07:18:44 AM EST

I do not know if you are sick of my photos and comments about Brisbane and surroundings but I can't resist to post them.
I had friend visiting this past weekend and while we were walking around I took some photos. Here they are...
First place is Sanctuary Cove close to a Gold Coast where rich people like to hide and " love life" as add suggests. They like simple things...It is gated community but we poor at least can enjoy their Marine Village ,for now. Thank you guys...

Is that dedicated "mobility scooter" parking?
Does the license plate say "old - something something"?

No it's not "old" it is QLD ( QUEENSLAND).
It's a type of electric vehicle that they use on golf courses and they call it Buggi. They prefer it while they are at Marine Village...

Yeah...While we had drinks and cake at George Paragon at Sanctuary Cove and it was not expensive next night we had dinner at George's city restaurant with a view of river and Story bridge and we were lucky that we came and were seated  before 6:30 because it is half price option ( which is great idea). Otherwise we would have to pay pretty much like everywhere else and that's not cheap. We had seafood and it was delicious and portions are big (as opposed to others). I had baby snapper and baby was huge :) . Full price for that " baby" was $62 and in Serbia you can properly feed and have drinks for about 4 people. Australia is expensive. No wonder tourists are avoiding us now , especially when our dollar is so high. It's a pity...because Australia has so much to offer.

Yes and obviously it is Greeks restaurant. Those boats/restaurants on second picture are for sale ( I can't remember but seems like they are going in to the receivership. I was shocked how many popular restaurants that were here for decades are now closed. I wanted to take my friend to
http://www.brettswharf.com.au/
but it is closed...and many more...

Next is Gold Coast...middle class paradise...They are trying to lift standard here and attract rich people but even if they have few luxury resorts most of it is attracting middle class still...They recently started to renovate centre because it was really run down simply by time passing...

The tower (image three), is that a residential or offices?

I would say that one is residential, but not sure. They have mostly offices in CBD but there are some residential too where mostly young not married professionals like to live...it's close to work :)
