Who Were Snipers In Kiev Massacre - A CIA-Svoboda False Flag Op?

[Update] Continued in my newest diary @BooMan:

How the Events of Sniper Fire In Instytutska Street Unfolded - Videos on Fri Mar 7th, 2014

BBC report sniper shooting from media centre Ukraine Hotel, which later became an infirmary for treating the injured.

Through a Polish national, I found more footage of the black-ops with yellow armbands for recognition. Now I could locate their position: in front of the International Center of Culture and Arts (October Palace). This is the very setting across from the Ukraine Hotel where a group of protesters became victim from snipers.

Yes, it's clear the opposition groups possessed firearms, pistols and rifles. Later, evidence shows they also possessed sniper rifles seen in BBC report and a local report of a Ukrainian MP from the Fatherland party caught with a sniper rifle in the trunck of his car. Opposition security allowed him to pass.

Kiev Truce Shattered, Dozens Killed

(The Atlantic) Feb. 20, 2014 - Last night, Ukraine's President Viktor Yanukovych, working with opposition leaders in the months-long protest, declared a truce, hoping to begin negotiations. Within hours, each side was accusing the other of betraying the agreement, and some of the most-violent clashes to date took place, leaving dozens of protesters lying dead in Kiev's Independence Square, and hundreds more injured in nearby aid centers and hospitals. With the failure of these negotiations, and the escalating violence, fears are growing that President Yanukovych will declare a state of emergency, bringing military enforcement into the situation. The photos here are from the past 24 hours in Kiev. Also, see: Bloody Battles in Kiev, from yesterday. [37 photos]

Video shows evidence of snipers firing at protesters in Kiev

This video shows security forces [or titushki] snipers firing at crowd. There were renewed clashes between security forces and protesters in Kiev's Independence Square on February 20 despite a putative ceasefire. Sniper fire was widely reported. Daily report of clashes can be found here.

[Update1] France24: Are 'agent provocateurs' infiltrating Ukraine’s protest movement? [04.12.2013]

The Guardian posted video as : amateur footage!   Thursday 20 Feb. 2014 - 3min 14sec

Amateur footage purports to show Ukrainian protesters in Kiev attempting to protect themselves with shields as they are fired at by police using live rounds. One man falls to the ground apparently wounded, and a group are seen carrying an injured person. The violence on Thursday is the deadliest so far as anti-government demonstrations continue to grip the capital.

On this video, the source "RadioSvoboda.org" is labeled in video during first 35 sec. Some added comments by The Guardian with time stamp:
00:07 Riot police in Kiev, Ukraine, fire live rounds at protesters on Thursday
00:35 [Shows footage of victims behind shields, several got hit by sniper fire - Oui]
00:40 Separate footage, not independently verified, appears to show anti-government protesters being shot at
02:08 [Different location, three men retreating from knolly hill, one sliding down wounded? - Oui]
03:08 [This portion is duplicated, same video shot at 00:48 - Oui]

[Was the first segment of 35 seconds with accusation at riot police verified?]

Watch the video and determine who these thugs are, rifles look like Kalashnikov rifles, some don't have militia boots but black leather shoes, no insignes/patches and all wear a distinct yellow armband. Search for more photos and analyze who these men in the group of thugs are. The video clip has signature of RadioSvoboda.org. I searched WhoIs and DNS lookup. To my astonishment this domain is registered in Washington DC to Radio Free Europe with contact Ray Ludendorff [Email: Ludendorffr(at)rferl.org]; IP address RadioSvoboda.org 72.246.55.18 and RadioSvoboda.org 72.246.55.41. Does this mean the footage is recorded by Radio Free Europe (Rferl) and this has nothing to do with the Svoboda party or its members?  In Russian, Svoboda means Freedom.

I had read and heard some rumours about these guys, so I started digging a little deeper. I didn't come to a conclusion yet, hoping bloggers can help out with this task. Who are the thugs operating as black-ops snipers, titushki?

The Titushki Generation

(Sean's Russia Blog) - Titushki is a new word from Ukrainians' lexicon that the whole world is now learning. This is the name for strong, athletic young men hired for money to cause trouble at public gatherings, who start up fights, who carry out other illegal actions. They operate under police protection or with the police taking no action at all. In fact, this is a shadow army of mercenaries that pro-regime forces have created for use against the people of Ukraine.

The Symbol of Generation "T"

Vadim Titushko, an athlete from Belaia Tserkov', bestowed his name on Ukrainian hired provocateurs. Fame arrived for him not in the ring, but during a public gathering, "Rise Up Ukraine!," where Titushko beat up Channel Five TV reporter Ol'ha Snytsarchuk and her husband, the photographer Vlad Sodel'. The incident happened May 18, 2013, in front of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) administration building on Vladimir Street in Kiev.

Continued below the fold ...

Press freedom situation in Ukraine - May 2013

Criminal proceedings were launched on the May 18 incident under Part 2 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism) and Part 1 of Article 171 of the Criminal Code (hindering journalists from their professional activities). On May 22, Shevchenkivsky District Court released suspect Vadym Titushko from a pre-trial detention facility on Hr 22,940 bail. On May 23, the Verkhovna Rada set up a temporary investigation commission to probe the May 18 attacks on the media in Kyiv.

Thug Vadym Titushko switches sides, now allegiance to protesters!

(BBC News) Feb. 1, 2014 - This man, Vadym Titushko, used to be one of Ukraine's most notorious pro-government vigilantes, paid to show up at protests and cause trouble. Now he's switched sides to join the protesters, saying he doesn't want his name to be a byword for a thug any longer.

So from early February, the titushki thugs switched sides and now work for pay on the anti-government protesters. Who are the uniformed police, Berkut special troops or thugs working on either side?

Ukraine: Provoking the Euromaidan

(SSEES-UCL) Dec. 3, 2013 - The pro-democratic media and the opposition were quick to denounce them as provocateurs, `titushki' - a term that has entered the Ukrainian political lexicon, after the May 2013 disturbances in Kyiv, when a group of young sportsmen - among them Vadym Titushko - were hired by the authorities to attack the opposition and journalists.

The story on 1 December was more complicated. Video footage uploaded on YouTube later that day revealed two white minivans owned by the State Security Administration which had brought a few dozen unknown people in civilian clothes to the yard close by the police cordon on Bankova Street. These might have been titushki, but it is not clear whether they actually took part in the attacks on the police.

What is clear is that the hard core of the violent crowd was not the titushki, but right-wing extremists and far right football hooligans. Almost all of them wore masks and yellow armbands with the wolf's hook symbol; and were clearly equipped for battle.

The black wolf's hook

 « click for story

The black wolf's hook on yellow armbands revealed their political affiliation: the Social-National Assembly (SNA), a largely Kyiv-based neo-Nazi organisation, which hoped to register as a political party in 2011 but failed to do so. Its leaders and ideologues are currently jailed on dubious charges.

There were also activists from other right-wing extremist organisations. The call to arms came via the social networking website VKontakte where they formed a group 'The Maidan Action Right-Wing Sector' and it was this particular group that attacked police on Bankova Street. In addition to the SNA, the 'Right-Wing Sector' also includes Tryzub (Trident) and Bily Molot (White Hammer). Tryzub was originally formed in 1993 as a paramilitary unit of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, but then became an independent organisation. In September 2009, Tryzub activists took part in attacks on gay people; and cut off the head of the Stalin monument in Zaporizhzhya in December 2010. Bily Molot is a relatively new group, which attracted some publicity by smashing a number of illegal casinos in Kyiv and the regions.

Dozens killed as Ukraine crisis reaches breaking point

KIEV (Alliance News) Feb. 20, 2014 - Dozens of people have been killed and scores injured in heavy street fighting in Kiev on Thursday, making it the bloodiest day in the three-month conflict in Ukraine. The bloodshed overshadowed crisis talks between President Viktor Yanukovych and the foreign ministers of Germany, France and Poland, which ended after five hours. The trio was set to meet three opposition leaders later in the day. Doctors and police confirmed 16 dead by late afternoon, but protest leaders put the numbers far higher. The nationalist Svoboda opposition party said that more than 60 protesters had been killed in the fighting in and around Kiev's Independence Square, the Maidan. "They were killed by the guardians of the Yanukovych regime," said Svoboda lawmaker Svyatoslav Khanenko . From this link we know he is the medical coordinator, counting the dead? The report does mention a policeman had been shot 28 times!

...
The Interior Ministry said earlier that anti-government snipers had been shooting at police. Photos and videos posted online showed masked men carrying what resembled Kalashnikov assault rifles. A video published by Radio Svoboda showed a sniper with a precision rifle lying on the ground surrounded by men in black uniforms wearing yellow armbands. The fighting began Thursday morning, just hours after Yanukovych and opposition leaders had declared a truce after late night talks the day before.

However, at least one video by Russian state broadcaster RT purportedly showed a group of anti-government snipers in a hotel room above Freedom Square. [Source: Voice of Russia]

Thousands of protesters on the square and surrounding streets pelted police with firebombs and Molotov cocktails, while the area was filled with black smoke from burning tyres. Protest leaders said they had captured riot police officers who had shot at protesters. Television footage showed men dressed in black being escorted through the crowd.

The Guardian: Ukraine crisis: deadly clashes shatter truce - Thursday 20 February

The CIA's Neo-Nazis

(May 25, 2000) - Formerly one of the youngest members of the Hitler Youth, Friedhelm Busse,  roused the crowd with anti-foreigner and anti-American vitriol that elicited loud cheers from shaven-head teenagers and 20-somethings who waved illegal imperial German black-and-white flags. Violence erupted after Busse ended his pep talk with a line from an old Nazi song: "We're marching for Hitler day and night because of the need for freedom and bread."

 « click for more info

Busse's status as an elder statesman among hard-core neo-Nazis in Germany is all the more troubling given that his checkered past includes a controversial stint with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency.Back in the early 1950s, Busse joined the Bund Deutscher Jugend (BDJ), an elite, CIA-trained paramilitary organization composed largely of ex-Hitler Youth, Wehrmacht and SS personnel in West Germany. Busse and his fellow Bundists were primed to go underground and engage in acts of sabotage and resistance in the event of a Soviet invasion. But instead of focusing on foreign enemies, Busse's "stay behind" unit proceeded to draw up a death list that included future Chancellor Willi Brandt and other leading Social Democrats (West Germany's main opposition party), who were marked for liquidation in case of an ill-defined national security emergency.

The Bund's cover was blown in October 1952, when the West German press got wind that U.S. intelligence was backing a neo-Nazi death squad. Embarrassed State Department officials, who tried to cover up the full extent of American involvement with the youth group, admitted privately that the scandal had resulted in "a serious loss of U.S. prestige."

Who the snipers were is a fair question, but I don't see much justification for the sensationalist title in this connect-the-dots series of items. Radio Free Europe/Liberty says this, Voice of Russia says that... It's the noise of propaganda, and I don't see much signal.

Here I collected photos of Pravy Sektor protesters with guns. Those guns are hunter rifles and handguns, though, and are used against police.

I don't quite get how the false flag operation makes sense. What was the goal? To get the world outraged? But that wasn't the key to the overturn. To mobilise civilians for the revolution? Again that wasn't key to the overthrow, and the schemers would have had to contemplate an outcome with even more people staying home scared. To get goodhearted Party of the Regions supporters to break with the regime? I don't think either the USA or Svoboda could have foreseen the extent of that.

It just doesn't add up. Let's stop the wild speculation, the propaganda is bad already.

Declassified archives document ties between CIA and Nazis

On June 6, 2006, the US national archives released some 27,000 pages of secret records documenting the CIA's Cold War relations with former German Nazi Party members and officials.

The files reveal numerous cases of German Nazis, some clearly guilty of war crimes, receiving funds, weapons and employment from the CIA. They also demonstrate that US intelligence agencies deliberately refrained from disclosing information about the whereabouts of Adolf Eichmann in order to protect Washington's allies in the post-war West German government headed by Christian Democratic leader Konrad Adenauer.

Eichmann, who had sent millions to their deaths while coordinating the Nazis' "final solution" campaign to exterminate European Jewry, went into hiding in Buenos Aires after the fall of the Third Reich. Utilizing friendly contacts in the Catholic Church and the Peron government in Argentina, Eichmann was able to reside in the South American country for 10 years under the alias of Ricardo Klement. He was abducted in 1960 by Mossad, Israel's foreign intelligence agency, put on trial in Israel and executed in 1962.

The documents show that the CIA was in possession of Eichmann's pseudonym two years before the Mossad raid. The CIA received this information in 1958 from the West German government, which learned of Eichmann's alias in 1952. Both the CIA and the Bonn government chose not to disclose this information to Israel because they were concerned that Eichmann might reveal the identities of Nazi war criminals holding high office in the West German government, particularly Adenauer's national security adviser Hans Globke.

When Eichmann was finally brought to trial, the US government used all available means to protect its West German allies from what he might reveal. According to the declassified documents, the CIA pressured Life magazine into deleting references to Globke in portions of Eichmann's memoirs that it chose to publish.

In addition to the revelations regarding Eichmann, the documents chronicle the CIA's creation of "stay-behind" intelligence networks in southwestern Germany and Berlin, labeled "Kibitz" and "Pastime," respectively. The Kibitz ring involved several former SS members. In the early 1950s, the CIA provided these groups with money, communications equipment and ammunition so that they could serve as intelligence assets in the event of a Soviet invasion of West Germany.

No one doubts that the CIA worked with Nazis in stay-behind ops in postwar Germany. Does this have anything to do with the situation in Ukraine 50-60 years later?

Stepan Bandera - Hero or Nazi Sympathizer

On January 22, 2010 Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko honored Stepan Bandera by posthumously bestowing on him the state honor, "Hero of Ukraine."  The Soviet KGB assassinated Bandera, a Ukrainian nationalist-in-exile, in 1959.  Many Ukrainians, including Ukrainian émigré groups in Canada, pressed Yushchenko to grant the honor, which, according to one statement, "would restore justice and truth about the Bandera and the...struggle for liberation that he headed."  To this day, many Ukrainians view Bandera as a martyred freedom fighter.

As an uncompromising leader of the militant, terrorist branch of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN), Bandera became a Nazi collaborator who lived with his deputies under German protection after World War II began.  In preparation for the attack on the USSR, the Nazis recruited Bandera's followers to act as Ukrainian-speaking policemen and to serve in two Ukrainian volunteer army battalions.  By working with the Nazis, Bandera hoped to free Ukraine from Soviet rule and establish his own government there.  An independent Ukraine, Bandera promised, would remain friendly to Germany.

Historian Karel Berkhoff, among others, has shown that Bandera, his deputies, and the Nazis shared a key obsession, namely the notion that the Jews in Ukraine were behind Communism and Stalinist imperialism and must be destroyed.  "The Jews of the Soviet Union," read a Banderist statement, "are the most loyal supporters of the Bolshevik Regime and the vanguard of Muscovite imperialism in the Ukraine."  When the Germans invaded the USSR in June 1941 and captured the East Galician capital of Lvov [Lviv in Ukrainian], Bandera's lieutenants issued a declaration of independence in his name.  They further promised to work closely with Hitler, then helped to launch a pogrom that killed four thousand Lvov Jews in a few days, using weapons ranging from guns to metal poles.  "We will lay your heads at Hitler's feet," a Banderist pamphlet proclaimed to Ukrainian Jews.

The Germans intended to keep Ukraine for themselves.  They arrested Bandera for his intransigence on the issue of independence, but released him in 1944 when it appeared that his popularity with Ukrainians might help stem the Soviet advance.  But whatever their disappointment with the Germans, the Banderists never disagreed with their Jewish policy in Ukraine, which eventually killed over 1.5 million Ukrainian Jews.

This is a truth that many in Ukraine, particularly in its western parts, deny.  In his book Erased (2007), Omer Bartov discusses the large bronze statue of Bandera that stands in a park in the east Galician town of Drohobych, most of whose 15,000 Jews were murdered.  The park stands on the site of the town's former Jewish ghetto, but there is not so much as a plaque in the park to memorialize the Jewish dead.  This and other examples like it make a condemnation of Yushchenko's step necessary.

Lenin beheaded, Bandera erected - Ukraine returning to pre-WWII fascist era collaborating with the West,

But the rest of the story, much of which is revealed in CIA records released in 2007, reveals irony in Yushchenko's award.  After the war Bandera lived in Munich.  British intelligence used him to help run agents into Ukraine to gather intelligence and to help the Ukrainian underground against the Soviets.  The CIA used some of Bandera's former cronies for similar reasons, but never used Bandera himself, owing to Bandera's infatuation with his own legend.  "Bandera," said one CIA report from 1948, "is by nature a political intransigent of great personal ambition [who] has...opposed all political organizations in the emigration which favor a representative form of government in the Ukraine, as opposed to a mono-party, OUN/Bandera regime."

A well known historical fact about Nazi collaborator Pieter Menten in East Galicia. He was unmasked by journalist Hans Knoop and his trial in The Hague brought many facts about local pogroms and executions of the Jewish population. The Ukrainians in Lviv played a major role of collaboration with the Nazis. The defense attorney Van Heijningen was well known to me. There was major media coverage of Pieter Menten's trial in The Hague.

The footage shown by The Guardian spliced together segments which has no proven role they belong together. I found the footage taken of the protesters as they try to move forward from Independence Square towards police lines which had cordoned off government buildings along Instytutska Street. Raider seizure "Ukrainian Truth" - whether the government's fault?
Media and advertising, September 4, 2013, 16:46

"Whether the government engaged in provocations against" Ukrainian Truth "? Waiting for an answer" - such an editorial appeared on the popular site pravda.com.ua.  Who is behind the provocation, and where does the power?
After all websites with all their content are on the border of the legal field of Ukraine.  Officially to register can only print media.  A popular site with a domain pravda.com.ua is not.

Official owner of the domain is pravda.com.ua Olena Prytula Kirova 18/3 kv.7, Simferopol (source: https://www.hostmaster.ua).  Most likely, she for some reason did not attended to ensure the legitimacy of media ownership called "Ukrainian Truth".

Therefore, the title of an editorial UP "whether the government engaged in provocations against" Ukrainian Truth "?"  - Paranoia in its purest form.  Do not need to mindlessly throw accusations of "provocations" "fraud." Manual UP own fault that the media did not register in time under its own brand.  And now only the power, but rather its judicial branch, can help protect this brand.

Honestly, it would be better attended to investigate who is behind this newspaper "Ukrainian Truth".  For this example, you can call the telephone number provided in the registration data of its publisher - Open-news has the same name.  Or stop by for a visit at the same place.  But it is difficult.  Much easier "on the machine" rush usual baseless allegations ...

@somebody #73 : One can see a major representation of the older generation participating in the violent demonstrations and occupation of Independence Square. One renowned militia, Aleksandr Musytschko, had fought in Chechnya and in the Ossetian War of 2008 against the Soviets Russians. I recall in the sixties, Polish immigrants in the US send their first borns to fight the commies in Vietnam. Hatred of occupation accompanied with atrocities leave deep scars for decades. IMO the differences between East and West in the Ukraine cannot be reconciled through more violence.

NY Times and other media reported about the "lad from  Lvov" [Lviv in Ukrainian] and now seen as a hero. Not surprised, the "lad" came with an arms haul from a government military depot.

Everything you know about Ukraine is wrong  by Mark Ames

(Pando Daily) Feb. 24, 2014 - Although I'm deep into the reporting of my next story about the Silicon Valley Techtopus, it's hard for me not to get distracted by events in Ukraine and Russia.

I haven't lived in that part of the world since the Kremlin ran me out of town, so I'm not going to pretend that I know as much as those on the ground there. Still, I've been driven nuts by the avalanche of overconfident ignorance that stands for analysis or commentary on the wild events there. A lethal ignorance, a virtuous ignorance.

Virtuous ignorance about world affairs used to be the exclusive domain of neo-con pundits, but now it's everywhere, especially rampant on the counter-consensus side -- nominally my own side, but an increasingly shitty side to be on.

Nearly everyone here in the US tries to frame and reify Ukraine's dynamic to fit America-centric spats. As such, Ukraine's problems are little more than a propaganda proxy war where our own political fights are transferred to Ukraine's and Russia's context, warping the truth to score domestic spat points. That's nothing new, of course, but it's still jarring to watch how the "new media" counter-consensus is warping and misrepresenting reality in Ukraine about as crudely as the neocons and neoliberals used to warp and Americanize the political realities there back when I first started my Moscow newspaper, The eXile. So, yes, I wanted to comment on a few simplifications/misconceptions about Ukraine today.

Everything you know about Ukraine is wrong | PandoDaily

1. The protesters are not "virtuous anti-Putin freedom fighters," nor are they "Nazis and US puppets"

In fact, the people who are protesting or supporting the protesters are first and foremost sick of their shitty lives in a shitty country they want to make better--a country where their fates are controlled by a tiny handful of nihilistic oligarchs and Kremlin overlords, and their political frontmen. It's first and foremost a desire to gain some control over their fate. Anger at Kremlin power over Ukraine is not necessarily anti-Russian--although the further west you go in Ukraine, the more this does become about nationalism, and the further east you go--including Crimea and Odessa--the more the politics are a fearful reaction against west-Ukraine nationalism.

Obvious for most of us around here, but worth repeating.

Ukrainian Jews seek urgent help from Israel

Rabbi Menachem Margolin, director-general of the European Jewish Association (EJA), has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon to urgently send security forces to the Jewish communities in Ukraine, which he says are suffering from a "growing wave of anti-Semitic attacks."

Margolin voiced his concern that the anti-Semitic activity in the eastern European country would escalate to the point of claiming lives.

'It's time for the State of Israel to intervene'

"The complicated challenge in taking security measures in a foreign sovereign country is clear," Rabbi Margolin wrote to Netanyahu and Ya'alon, "but this is an emergency. On behalf of the Jews of Ukraine, the Rabbinical Center of Europe and the European Jewish Association, I urge you to take every possible step, including dispatching security guards to secure the safety of Jewish communities in Ukraine, until the danger has passed."

Unidentified armed men at Crimea airports in Ukraine (Video)

(DW) - Ukraine's interior minister has said the Russian military are blocking an airport in Crimea's Sevastopol calling it an "armed invasion." Unidentified armed men have also been seen patrolling the Simferopol airport.

Separately, dozens of unidentified armed men dressed in military uniforms were seen patrolling the airport at Simferopol, Crimea's capital early on Friday morning.

The men, who refused to talk to journalists [see video for brief interview], did not move into the passenger terminal and appeared to be allowing the airport to function normally, the RIA-Novosti news agency quoted a worker at the airport as saying. Their uniforms were without military insignias and it was not immediately clear who they were.

Bus service from Krasnodar suspended in Crimea

(InterFax) Feb. 28, 2014 - Delivery of passengers to Odessa through Rostov-on-Don. "Movement in Crimea until closed, another bus to Odessa recovering today at 20:05 via Rostov," - said in a reference. Bus service to the cities of Crimea, as well as with Odessa from Krasnodar was carried out through the port customs post "Caucasus" and the ferry across the Kerch Strait.

Earlier, some media reported the closure of the Strait of Kerch ferry.  In particular, there were reports that the closure of this transport route is initiated by the Ukrainian side, and therefore canceled bus services from the cities of Krasnodar Region of the Russian Federation in Simferopol, Kerch, Feodosia, Yalta, Sevastopol, Odessa and Tiraspol.

Russian military surround Ukrainian border guard post in Crimea

BALAKLAVA, Ukraine (Reuters) Feb 28, 2014 - At least 20 men wearing the uniform of Russia's Black Sea fleet and carrying automatic rifles surrounded a Ukrainian border guard post, in a tense standoff near the port city of Sevastopol in Ukraine's Crimea region.

A Reuters reporter in the Balaklava district saw Ukrainian border police in helmets and riot gear shut inside the border post, with a metal gate pulled shut and metal riot shields placed behind the windows as protection.

A servicemen who identified himself as an officer of the Black Sea Fleet told Reuters: "We are here ... so as not to have a repeat of the Maidan." He was referring to Kiev's Independence Square, the cradle of a popular uprising that ousted President Viktor Yanukovich.

The servicemen's presence appeared to confirm the veracity of a statement by the Ukrainian border guard service that Russian servicemen were blocking off a unit of Ukrainian border guards in Balaklava.

Pro-Russia separatists flex muscles in Ukraine's Crimean Peninsula

(WaPo) - A spokesman for the Black Sea Fleet denied the reports that its troops are involved in blocking the Belbek airfield, according to the Interfax news agency.

"No subdivision of the Black Sea Fleet has been advanced into the Belbek area, let alone involved in blocking it," the spokesman said. "Given the unstable situation around the Black Sea Fleet bases in the Crimea, and the places where our service members live with their families, security has been stepped by the Black Sea Fleet's anti-terror units."

A Crimea news Web site, Argumenty Nedeli Krym, reported that the armed men carried M-4 assault rifles. "As journalists attempted to approach them, one of the servicemen warned that they would shoot to kill," the Web site said.

This diary is a highly informative and interesting revelation about the extent of anti-Semitism in eastern Europe in the 1930s that continued after the war. How could Walensa win election for Prime Minister of Poland on grounds that his opponent was half-Jewish if it were otherwise. Culpability for the Holocaust goes well beyond the Nazis.

Thanks.

The suggestion by US Radio Free Europe that the sniper activities around February 20 were the responsibility of the Ukrainian Berkut under Minister of Interior was false and pure fabricated propaganda. The video in question was most likely filmed during the November 29 and 30 uprising. The Russian article below was published on February 24, 2014 and has photo of militia, a screenshot of RasioSvoboda.org. However, the article was originally published in English at an earlier date - Is bloody KGB plan of Ukraine's collapse carried out? Written by: Валерій Дротенко and published on 08.12.2013.

Is bloody KGB plan of Ukraine's collapse carried out? Written by: Валерій Дротенко and published on 08.12.2013.

The original name of this article was Is bloody KGB plan of Ukraine's collapse carried out by Ukrainian Security Service General Gandzha and criminal Chebotarev?

Several days ago, the opposition MPs, Lieuteant-General Gennady Moskal, Colonel-General Nikolai Palamarchuck and Lieutenant-General Vitaly Yarema spoke about overheard preparations for provocations to be held on Maidan. According to the information from retired generals of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, there are several gangs of 5-7 thousand of so-called "titushky" concentrated near Kiev. Titusky (termed after the surname of a notorious gangster Vadym Titushok, who's beaten journalists during earlier protests rally in Kyiv, being covered by government and never jailed for that) are government sponsored hooligans. These gangs are backed up by Alexey Chebotarev, "a person who sells alcohol and is on friendly terms with Zaharchenko".

Our editorial staff has received the confirmation of these data from Palamarchuk and Yarema from the competent source, which, of course, wished to remain anonymous. The inside story is as follows. Deliberately bloody crackdown on Maidan on the night of November 29th to 30th  and Sunday events on the Bankova Street were provoked by Chebotarev's bandits and funded by "black cash" from Chebotarev's gang which was received for market protection of counterfeit vodka and alcohol smuggling.  The same source covers "unofficial bonuses" of Berkut fighters and of Special Forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Chebotarev himself is backed up by his curator at Ukrainian Security Service, Head of National Statehood Protection, General Sergei V. Gandzha.

Валерій Дротенко Translates as Valery Drotenko. Reporter has been writing anti-government pieces for months and especially about the role of the Berkut special forces.

Ethnic and Liguistic division of Ukraine into East and West is a myth

(spilno.tv) - So, as we can see, ethic and linguistic division of Ukraine is a myth, which was created and believed in by Russian propaganda. In the nearest future Russia has to admit that this is a myth or make a strategically miscalculation in their actions due to using wrong information. Besides, existing biases toward the ethno-linguistic predominance or significant presence of Russians on some territories of Ukraine is mainly the result of discriminating language policy and state terror towards the Ukrainians during the period of time, when Ukraine was a part of the Russian Empire and the USSR.

I hope that foreign mass media and individual journalists will check the facts given in this article and will gradually stop nourishing this solely Russian neo-imperial myth.

It's quite a leap to conclude from the copy-and-paste of part of an earlier article that the video NOT part of the earlier article must be that old, too... especially with the other video included. And several dozens have been killed by sniper shots, so videos of other snipers really aren't needed.

Russia and Ukraine feud over carnage? Why isn't this massacre in overthrow of Yanukovich a concern of human rights for the European Union, the US government and members of US Congress? Collateral damage, just move along, nothing here to see ...

Russia, Ukraine feud over sniper carnage

KIEV, Ukraine (AP/WaPo) -- One of the biggest mysteries hanging over the protest mayhem that drove Ukraine's president from power: Who was behind the snipers who sowed death and terror in Kiev?

That riddle has become the latest flashpoint of feuding over Ukraine -- with the nation's fledgling government and the Kremlin giving starkly different interpretations of events that could either undermine or bolster the legitimacy of the new rulers.

I don't believe any of it. My secret input from a high level deputy to an oligarch, whose name needs to remain anonymous, confided in me that the Academi [former Blackwater]  mercenaries were still occupied in the Crimea. Russia pays upfront, Kyiv has a debt crisis and all EU subsidies are needed to pay the Gazprom energy bills Yanukovich left behind.

Mystery Mercenaries in Donets'k

Author analyzed event and concludes it's a unit Спецназ (Alpha) СБУ - SWAT (Alpha) SBU.  History of the Spetsnaz units in Ukraine after collapse of the USSR - here.

There is a US Security Guard located in Kyiv, Ukraine. Training exercises here and TopGuard website here.

In early RT publication, the propaganda line of Blackwater was issued. In updates, the mercenaries were dubbed being from Greystone Ltd.
"It was reported that the tough guys are employees of Greystone Limited, a subsidiary of Vehicle Services Company LLC belonging to Blackwater/XE/Academi."

Who is Greystone?

US mercenaries deployed in Southern Ukraine

Although NATO has officially stated it would not intervene in Crimea, according to Russian political scientist Alexander Dugin, Greystone Limited, a subsidiary of Academi (formerly Blackwater), has kicked off its deployment in Ukraine.

Mercenaries arrive in groups - dressed in civilian clothes and carrying bulky packs - at Kiev airport, from where they are apparently sent to Odessa, in the southern part of the country.

Is a legitimate action group founded in 1992 by Ramsey Clark. Former Attorney General under President Lyndon Johnson during the Vietnam War, he became part of the anti-war movement and organized numerous "tribunals" to place judgement on leaders accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

As the lawyer, Clark has also provided legal counsel and advice to prominent figures worldwide.

Anything ADL doesn't like, must be positive on certain principles ...

Anti-Imperialist and Anti-war ... an ADL backgrounder

Under the guise of an anti-imperialist and anti-war agenda, the Far-Left International Action Center (IAC) and its affiliate, the ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism) Coalition, have been at the forefront of injecting anti-Israel fervor and support for terrorism into the anti-war movement.

Founded in 1992 by former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark, IAC regularly organizes protests against capitalism and what it perceives to be American imperialism, including policies related to the economy, immigration issues and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. ANSWER, its anti-war spinoff which was founded in 2001, has a narrower agenda and focuses on "campaigning against U.S. intervention" in foreign countries.

IAC and ANSWER's ideology is strongly rooted in the Workers World Party, a revolutionary Marxist-Leninist party founded in the 1950s on the principle that only socialism will end "exploitation, racism and war."  Both IAC and ANSWER organize many anti-war rallies around the country and they have become a galvanizing force behind the anti-war movement, leading the way in expressing opposition to the United States' wars abroad.
