Peace will await significant, if not radical, changes to capitalism as currently practiced. Come the day!

I am convinced that we have misunderstood the work of Mohandas K Gandhi.  We fixate on the political aspects of satyagraha and ignore its "soul," swadeshi or local production, and the fundamental attention Gandhi paid to a non-violent and non-exploitative economic system.  Since his death, others have continued to work out the concepts and practices of Gandhian economics and technologies like solar electricity have made its ideals more practical.

All my notes on my readings in Gandhian economics are available at http://hubeventsnotes.blogspot.com if anyone is interested.
