CPAC: Setting the Stage for Fascism

Top Holocaust scholar Lipstadt: CPAC Nazi-symbol stage was 'a very big oops'

This week, the acclaimed Emory University professor is keeping an eye on the CPAC gathering in Orlando, where the shape of the stage has been compared to a symbol worn by leading SS officers.

...
Lipstadt is also an expert witness in the federal lawsuit filed against organizers of the 2017 "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was retained by the plaintiffs in Sines v. Kessler, a lawsuit backed by Integrity First for America against neo-Nazis and white supremacists.

...
Also demonstrated by Lipstadt, the anti-Black and anti-Semitic motifs broadcast by organizers were heavily intertwined. Although the defendants are often referred to as "white supremacists," their hatred of Jews and Blacks is indistinguishable, said Amy Spitalnick, the head of the nonpartisan, nonprofit group Integrity First for America.

"It's important to understand that anti-Semitism is at the core of the white supremacy that's fueled so much violence in recent years," executive director Spitalnick told The Times of Israel. "That's why efforts to pit communities against one another are so dangerous -- our fates are so deeply interconnected. You can't take on one form of hate without taking on all of them."

Funded by private donors and crowd-funded online, Integrity First for America's leadership includes several Jewish activists. Their strategy of outreach to synagogues and other faith-based communities has encouraged people to fight extremism with their voices and -- by backing the high-profile lawsuit -- their bank accounts.

'Great Replacement Theory'

Since Charlottesville, said Spitalnick, one conspiracy involving Blacks and Jews has been particularly potent.

"White supremacist attacks from Charlottesville, to Pittsburgh, to Christchurch, to Poway, to El Paso have been motivated by the vile `great replacement' theory: The idea that Jews are puppet-masters orchestrating the `replacement' of the white race through our support for immigrants, refugees, communities of color, and so on," said Spitalnick.

The Opposition Strategy from a devastated GOP

by Oui on Tue Mar 2nd, 2021 at 12:58:24 PM EST
I will reiterate: Dueling factions of US uniparty are not and never have been honest brokers of universal suffrage. And voters are as ignorant or agreeable (you be the judge) as ever to inducements, or donor "kick-backs," (you be the judge), devised by federal and states' legislators, to maintain the electoral revenue model few dare name "American fascism". The present situation representing dire competition for district seats between progressive "operatives" and "white supremacists" is comical, really.

100 years ago leadership positions on the, ahem, field were reversed; GOP grappling liberal democracy to unlock hearts and minds, while separating "white supremacists" from their money ... right up to the CRA and VRA which their dirt poor subsidiaries resisted.

These days, appraisal of 1st Amdt currency (Citizens, 2010) convergence with 10th Amdt prerogatives (Shelby, 2013) has quashed pretenses of "restoring" Americans' access to ballot boxes, absent Voice Vouchers and other purposes of H.R. 1 funding candidates' campaigns treasuries.

Then, there is H.R. 4, John Lewis Voting Rights Act, purporting to re-animate DOJ rapid response to voters' complaints of "suppression" by law or election administrators.

I'm seeing criticism online about HR1 voting bill including measures which make getting third parties on the ballot or funding more difficult.

My feeling is we have two private corporations, the Democratic and Republican Parties, which conspire with corporate media to churn billions of dollars through corporate consultants as a distraction to the voting population so that they don't realize their pockets are being picked and the Treasury is being robbed.  Electoral politics is more and more a shadow show and any real action is merely a sop to the public or an accident.

I vote and will continue to do so but don't expect much as everyone I vote for turns out to be a... politician.

Federico Klein, whose image was captured repeatedly on police body-worn cameras, is the first known Trump appointee to be swept up in the sprawling federal investigation.

Klein held a top secret security clearance at the State Department where he served in the Office of Brazilian and South Cone Affairs.

Flat out lying to his own mom

"He's a good kid, smart and honest - a Boy Scout type," she said, adding that he served a stint in Iraq as a Marine.
According to the Marine Corps,

Klein served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves from January 2004 to November 2012. He left the service as a corporal and his specialty was combat engineering. He was deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom from February to September in 2005.

His units received several awards for service, including for the Global War on Terrorism.

Yeah, how Freddie radicalized serving Trump in Pompeo's State Dept. from a "Boy Scout" model American to a domestic terrorist.

But lying to your mother, definitely no-good 🤣

"How in Lord's name he got mixed up in this, I have no idea," she said. "He's in the hoosegow, for now."

Feds Investigate Communications Between Lawmakers and Capitol Rioters: Report | NY Mag |

The data gathered so far includes contact between lawmakers and insurrectionists in the period surrounding the attack, as well as comms between alleged rioters discussing their purported connections to those inside the building they attacked.

...
The report also does not mention publicly known contacts between House representatives like Paul Gosar, Mo Brooks, and Andy Biggs and "Stop the Steal" organizer Ali Alexander, who says the trio coordinated with him to plan the event that would "change the hearts and the minds of Republicans who were in that body, hearing our loud roar from outside."

Other previously reported connections between Republicans and alleged rioters include Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene and conservative influencer Anthony Aguero, who has admitted to breaking into the Capitol. Representative Mary Miller, who approvingly quoted Hitler the day before the attack, is married to the owner of a pick-up truck with a militia sticker that was parked on January 6 at the Capitol grounds closed to vehicular traffic. Democrats have also previously called for an inquiry into Representative Lauren Boebert, who tweeted out Nancy Pelosi's location during the attack.

Covid-19 Fueling Anti-Asian Racism and Worldwide | HRW |

'China virus' redux: For Trump and Republicans, it's open season on Asian Americans like me | USA Today |

"China virus."

Those words were once again uttered by the twice-impeached, former president of the United States last weekend in Orlando and, as has become the status quo, they were met with rambunctious applause from the Republican Party faithful.

For the better part of a year, the highest power in the land, the person with the largest microphone in the land, repeatedly used the phrases "China Virus" and "Kung-Flu" to describe COVID-19.

High school announcer caught by hot mic blames racist outburst on high blood sugar | The Guardian |

An announcer for a live stream of an Oklahoma girls' high school basketball game cursed and called one team by a racial epithet as the players knelt during the national anthem, then suggested his diabetes was to blame for the episode in a statement expressing his regret.

Matt Rowan, owner of OSPN, the third-party company that produced the telecast for NFHS, revealed on Friday afternoon that he was the speaker on broadcast.
