Failures Mounting, Rutte Should Go!

by Oui Tue Jul 13th, 2021 at 02:28:01 PM EST

I'm not a fan of conservative PM Mark Rutte as you all know by now, never haven been if my memory serves me right.

VVD PM Rutte enjoys backing of his own party and the rest of the nation is very much divided. As the populist parties entered Dutch politics, the conservative VVD moved further to the right adopting policies to serve Xenophobia and Islamophobia.

What the masses ask for, we give what they want to stay in position of political power. It's been this way for eons to the empires of Rome, Greece, Peking and ancient Egypt. Rutte has collected a strong PR team and the followers are reporters and journalists close to the seat of power in The Hague.

Just recently was the very first time critical questions were asked at a press briefing ... Mark Rutte came apart and acted like Trump stung by a bee. The policy from Dutch government followed closely what was said in London and Washington DC.  Herd immunity was the very first common denominator ... lasted for less than a week when he was called on his wisdom by virologists and epidemiologists.

Weekly coronavirus infections rise 500% with 13.4% positivity rate

Some 51,957 people in the Netherlands tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus over the past seven days, more than 500 percent higher than the result a week ago.

About 13.4 percent of people tested were diagnosed with the infection, compared to 4.6 percent a week earlier.

...
The RIVM said 37 percent of traced infections were likely acquired at a bar, cafe or restaurant. Roughly 15 percent were tied to a party, 16 percent to a visit to another household, and seven percent were contracted at the office.

Additionally, 2,269 of those who tested positive last week traveled within 14 days of their positive test. The top destinations were Spain (794), Portugal (333), Belgium (219), France (204), and Germany (172).

I've given up any expectation the vast majority of global leaders - of whatever shape, variety, form - will take scientifically valid steps to reducing the spread of SARS-CoV-2.  The leaders of China, Viet Nam, and New Zealand pretty much is the list of those who did.

Sajid Javid tests positive as health chiefs tell PM: don't let Covid rip | The Guardian |

Senior public health leaders from across the UK have accused Boris Johnson of "letting Covid rip" by relaxing legal restrictions on Monday, amid warnings that a growing wave of infections will intensify a summer NHS crisis. The rebuke comes as it emerged that England's health secretary, Sajid Javid, was among those to have tested positive for Covid, despite being fully vaccinated. He said he had mild symptoms and was awaiting the results of a more accurate PCR test.

A positive PCR test result would create a headache for the prime minister. Under test-and-trace rules, anybody who has been in contact with Javid in the previous 48 hours would have to self-isolate. The health secretary is understood to have visited Downing Street on Friday, which leaves Johnson in the uncomfortable position of potentially spending so-called "freedom day" stuck inside No 10. Javid is also known to have visited a care home in recent days.
