Islamic Terror and US Foreign Policy

The headline could also have come from Caesar's Roman Empire "Divide and Conquer."

13 days after attempt to overthrow US Democracy and overturn the election of Joe Biden, the Trump administration in the name of Mike Pompeo put forward MAGA's China policy of confrontation ... it was a period of Pompeo's scorched earth policy to make life for Democrats impossible. Biden didn't adept but ran with the set policy ... and worse versus Russia.

Excellent writing by Frank Schnittger about a future presidency how unlikely and unwanted ... democracy at work for good or worse.

In a digital world where fake news is spread by Big Tech algoritme, anyone with enough wealth can set the world on fire. The new god is political disinformation and excellent PR staff to cover asses and stupid policy. The gap between government and its citizens grows in a same tempo as inequality. As the World Turns.

China urged to review policies against Uyghurs, UN's Bachelet says

The United States has labelled China's actions in Xinjiang a "genocide" and "crimes against humanity," allegations vehemently denied by Beijing which says its security crackdown was a necessary response to extremism.

Bachelet has come under fire from rights groups and Uyghurs overseas, who say she has stumbled into a six-day Communist Party propaganda tour, including a meeting with President Xi Jinping in which state media suggested she supported China's vision of human rights.

Her office later clarified that her remarks did not contain a direct endorsement of China's rights record.

Speaking at the end of her trip while still inside China, Bachelet framed her visit as a chance for her to speak with "candour" to Chinese authorities as well as civil society groups and academics.

After 20 years of war in Afghanistan and Operation Enduring Freedom, the Trump administration decided to pull out and return the nation to the scourge of the Taliban. This left the regional powers Iran, Turkey, Russia and. Nina to deal with its aftermath. The Chinese are keen to prevent Uyghur terrorists to return to its most Western province.

Uyghurs, specifically individuals of Turkic decent from China's northwest province of Xinjiang, have become a noticeable part of the constellation of globally active jihadist terror groups. Uyghur jihadists first came to the world's attention when the United States and its allies invaded Afghanistan in 2001. While continuing their cooperation with the Taliban under the banner of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM), Uyghur jihadists have now spread to Southeast Asia and the Middle East. ETIM's members are part of the Turkestan Islamic Party fighting with the Al-Qaeda umbrella group in Syria, but other Uyghurs have joined IS in Syria and Iraq, and still others have joined local terror groups in Indonesia.

The policy of the United States is to use "freedom fighters" to spread democracy to disobedient states around the globe. The demise of an empire.

Imran says rulers 'tasked with recognising Israel' | Dawn News |

CHARSADDA: Vowing to continue his struggle till the ouster of `imported government imposed on the people through an international conspiracy', Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman and ex-premier Imran Khan said on Sunday the rulers were a security threat for the country, alleging that they had been `tasked with recognising Israel' and compromising with India on Kashmir issue.

Claiming that he would never accept the `imported government of slaves and looters', Mr Khan told a party workers' convention in Charsadda that the rulers were ready to do everything ordered by America, but the masses were on his side as they were aware of `the real leaders' who would save Pakistan from the slavery of foreign powers.

Mr Khan hurled these allegations, including a clear reference to Israel's recognition, a few days after Israeli President Isaac Herzog during his special address at the World Economic Forum talked about the `great change' vis-a-vis Israel's ties with the Muslim world, mentioning that he recently received a delegation from Morocco and another of Pakistani expats living in the US.

"And I must say this was an amazing experience. We haven't had a group of Pakistani leaders in Israel in such scope. And that all stems from the Abraham Accords, meaning Jews and Muslims can dwell together in the region [...]," Herzog was quoted as saying in Davos on May 25.

At the Charsadda jalsa, Mr Khan said the PTI government had reached an agreement with Russia for import of petrol at 30pc cheaper rates, but the "imported government abolished that agreement" in fear of US administration and increased petrol and diesel prices.

Announcing the JI demands, he said that corrupt officials and water tanker mafia under the `patronage' of the government had `created' a very complicated water crisis for the sake of their own monetary benefits and the only solution was the completion of the K-IV water supply project.

He said that the project was introduced 17 years ago but still it was not completed.
He said that the voters in Karachi had already rejected the massive decrease from 650 million gallons of water to 260 million gallons of water in the project. He asked the government to complete the project on a war footing.

Uyghur Muslim Ethnic Separatism in Xinjiang

The April 1990 armed uprising in Baren marked an increase in Uyghur Muslim violence in Xinjiang, China. Two justifications--ethnic separatism and religious rhetoric--are given. The Uyghurs, who reside throughout the immediate region, are the largest Turkic ethnic group living in Xinjiang as well as being overwhelmingly Muslim. This combination of ethnicity and religion also involves the movement of religious and political ideologies, weapons, and people.

Interesting how the Uyghurs  have become the good guys, as opposed to the days after 9/11 when the US locked them up in Guantanamo.

How China's 'Xinjiang Mode' draws from US, British, and Israeli counterinsurgency strategy

China's Han settler colonial model has turned Uyghur and Kazakh communities into open-air prisons

The following article, which was first published in Made in China Journal in October 2019, focuses on the mass detention experienced by Turkic Muslims. However, the CCP's tactics of mass detention and surveillance affect many communities in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR, also known as "Xinjiang," "Northwest China," "East Turkestan," "Uighuria," "Ghulja," "Tarbagai," "Altay," "Dzungarstan and Altishahr," and/or "Dzungaria and the Tarim Basin Region," and which will henceforth be referred to as "Xinjiang"), most visibly Uyghurs but no less significantly other indigenous and minority ethnic groups. As such, we have amended the original reference from "Uyghurs and Turkic Muslims" to "Uyghurs, indigenous peoples, and ethnic minority groups."

A highly contested term, the proper name Xinjiang (新疆) was first used by the 18th century emperor Qianlong, and conferred on the XUAR upon Zuo Zongtang's reoccupation of the region in the late 19th century. In Mandarin Chinese, it means "new territory," "new border," or "new frontier."

The conflict began with riots by the Hui and massacres of the Han Chinese, followed by the revenge massacres of the Hui by the Han. It resulted in massive demographic shifts in Northwest China, and led to a population loss of 21 million people from a combination of massacres, migration, famine, and corpse-transmitted plague.

Due to the conflict, Gangsu (Longxi) lost 74.5% (14.55 million) of its population, Shaanxi lost 44.6% (6.2 million) of its population, and Northern Xinjiang lost 72.6% (0.34 million) of its population. The population reduction of Hui in Shaanxi was particularly severe.

According to research by modern historians, at least 4 million Hui were in Shaanxi before the revolt, but only 20,000 remained in the province afterwards, with most of the Hui either killed in massacres and reprisals by government and militia forces, or deported out of the province.

... and the wisdom of a contemporary U.S. Congress is to sanction the Chinese government and preach how not to treat their minorities ... sovereignty has its limits half-way across the globe. UN Charter as defined by former Ambassador to the UN, John Bolton.
