War and Algorithm | by Max Liljefors, Gregor Noll, and Daniel Steuer |

War and Algorithm looks at the increasing power of algorithms in these emerging forms of warfare from the perspectives of critical theory, philosophy, legal studies, and visual studies. The contributions in this volume grapple with the challenges posed by algorithmic warfare and trace the roots of new forms of war in the technological practices and forms of representation of the digital age. Together, these contributions provide a first step toward understanding--and resisting--our emerging world of war.

Intense days in Poland to support Ukraine | by Josep Borrell - Dec. 4, 2022 |

The OSCE was created during the Cold War, in the wake of the Helsinki agreement of 1975, to ensure early warning, conflict prevention, crisis management and post-conflict rehabilitation. Since almost fifty years, with its today 57 participating countries, it has played a very significant role to preserve a relatively stable European peace order, despite various conflicts and crises.

Ukraine's western pro-European cities warn they could break away | The Guardian - Feb. 21, 2014 |

Police no longer seen on streets in Lviv while local troops say they will refuse to carry out certain commands

While protests continue on the streets of central Kiev, the cities in the west of Ukraine are slipping towards autonomy with new parallel governments and security forces that have openly admitted they have deserted to the side of protesters.

In Lviv, the heartland of Ukrainian nationalism, firearms have been stolen from local military bases and police are no longer to be seen on the streets.

Amid talk of civil war, few want to see any permanent division between the country's mainly Russian-speaking east and the more pro-European west, but many admit there is a risk it could happen.

Insufficiently diverse: The problem of nonviolent leverage and radicalization of Ukraine’s Maidan uprising, 2013–2014 |

The article explains the violent radicalization of the initially peaceful Maidan uprising in January 2014 as the result of failure to build efficient leverage against Viktor Yanukovych with nonviolent methods. Maidan lacked critical diversity of nonviolent tactics insofar as directly disruptive methods of noncooperation (e.g., strikes and boycott) remained small-scale and inefficient.

The Maidan protest coalition primarily lacked social-organizational resources, i.e. authoritative civil society organizations and strong labor movement, for developing nonviolent leverage that was partially connected to gaps in ideological and regional diversity and partially to unfavorable structural conditions. However, radical nationalists actively participating in the protests possessed a unique combination of resources for initiating and diffusing efficient, coordinated, and strategic violence.

Ukraine Suggest a Peace Summit in Februari … only Friends Invite

Ukraine eyes peace summit in February | Le Monde - Dec. 26, 2022 |

Ukraine's government is aiming to have a peace summit by the end of February, preferably at the United Nations with Secretary-General Antonio Guterres as a possible mediator, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba told Associated Press on Monday, December 26.

Mr. Kuleba said he was "absolutely satisfied" with the results of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the US last week. He said that the US government had made a special plan to get the Patriot missile battery ready to be operational in Ukraine in less than six months. Usually, the training takes up to a year.

Mr. Kuleba said Ukraine would do whatever it can to win the war in 2023, adding that diplomacy always played an important role.

"Every war ends in a diplomatic way," he said. “Every war ends as a result of the actions taken on the battlefield and at the negotiating table."

"The United Nations could be the best venue for holding this summit because this is not about making a favor to a certain country," he said. "This is really about bringing everyone on board."

Asked about whether Russia would be invited to the summit, Mr. Kuleba said that Russia would need to be prosecuted for war crimes at an international court, for example, first.

Kuleba’s “negotiating table” is quite likel an unconditional and dishonorable surrender in a railway carriage outside of Lviv

Tragedy in Dnipro: Arestovich's scandalous statement angers Ukrainians, 15 Jan
Bankova's adviser is again embarrassed: he believes that a Russian missile hit a residential building as a result of being shot down by air defense forces.

A Russian Kh-22 missile that hit a residential building in Dnipro was shot down by Ukrainian Air Defense Forces. Such statement Conversation Along with Mark Feigin, he was made an adviser to the office of President Oleksii Arestovich

When asked by the Russian human rights defender about the possibility of shooting down the missile, Arestovich replied that the air defense forces destroyed the missile. According to him, it fell on the door of the house and exploded immediately.

"She fell down, she fell into the corridor. She exploded when she fell. There is a problem with caustic fumes. This is a sure sign of X-22 because it is filled with highly toxic fuel. It can be assumed that the toxic fuel became an additional element of damage," said Pangoa's counsel.

He made such a statement despite Air Force spokesman Ignat's official statement that the Russians had fired a missile at the house. The same rocket hit a shopping center in Kremenchuk in late June.

Such words of Arestovich were immediately extended by Russian propagandists.

German Navy Chief Resigns After Saying Ukraine Won't Get Crimea Back And Putin 'Probably' Deserves Respect | Forbes - Jan. 24, 2021 |

Germany's top naval officer stepped down following comments he made about Russia, including a call to show respect to Russian President Vladimir Putin and claiming Ukraine would never win Crimea back from Russia.

  • Vice Admiral Kay-Achim Schönbach apologized for his "rash" comments and said they were a mistake in a tweet, and added in a statement to multiple news outlets his "position is increasingly burdened by the ill-advised comments on security and military policy."
  • Schönbach asked German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht to relieve him of his duties effective immediately, which he said she did, according to the statement.
  • Schoenbach's comments drew criticism from the German and Ukrainian governments after a video recording of him speaking at an event in India surfaced earlier this week.

Tank swap: Rheinmetall supplying the Slovak Republic with Leopard 2 A4 MBTs | EDR Magazine - Nov. 11, 2022 |

Under the German government's "Ringtausch" equipment exchange programme, Rheinmetall will soon be supplying the Slovak Republic with main battle tanks and other military hardware. In turn, the Slovak military will be transferring military equipment [15 T-72 tanks] to Ukraine. This has now been contractually agreed in Brussels between representatives of both countries and Rheinmetall.

The Slovak armed forces will be receiving 15 Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks. The order includes ammunition as well as a service package encompassing training and spare parts. The first vehicle is due to be shipped in December 2022, with delivery to be complete by the end of 2023.

The "Ringtausch" is a procedure developed by the German government in cooperation with Germany's neighbours and NATO allies to support Ukraine in its fight against Russian aggression. Specifically, NATO member states are providing Ukraine with Soviet-era heavy equipment in exchange for readily available Western military systems.

Warmongers will explain Lambrecht has been a disaster ... incompetence to phony reasons why she had to go after one year of traffic light coalition.

German defense chief reportedly set to quit ahead of key Ukraine tank decision | Politico |

Lambrecht's leadership style has come under fire, especially for failing to implement an increase in military spending pledged by Chancellor Scholz.

Germany's controversial Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht is reportedly set to step down as early as Monday, suffering the consequences from a series of blunders that hurt her credibility and increasingly weighed on Chancellor Olaf Scholz and his declared sea-change in German defense policy.

The news of Lambrecht's expected resignation -- which, more than 18 hours after a first report by German media outlet Bild ~~"Pannen-Ministerin will hinschmeißen"-- , has been neither officially denied nor confirmed -- plunges Scholz's government into uncertainty less than a week ahead of a crucial meeting of Western defense officials.

The news comes amid growing international pressure to support Ukraine with German-made Leopard battle tanks. The U.K. on Saturday agreed to send next-generation Challenger tanks to the Ukrainian battlefield.

German defence minister Christine Lambrecht quits after series of blunders | The Guardian |

Scholz is said to favour Lars Klingbeil, the leader of the Social Democrats - Scholz's own party - who comes from a military family, though the pressure he will be under to choose a woman makes this less likely.

Scholz is under pressure to make another significant step forward in German military aid to Ukraine by agreeing to deliver Leopard 2 battle tanks. Earlier this month, Germany agreed to provide 40 Marder armoured personnel carriers and a Patriot air defence missile battery to Kyiv.

Germany has given Ukraine substantial support in recent months, including howitzers, Gepard self-propelled anti-aircraft guns and the first of four IRIS-T surface-to-air missile systems. But critics, some inside Germany's governing coalition, have long-complained of Scholz's perceived hesitancy to step up aid. Lambrecht was overshadowed on the issue by the chancellor, who made most major announcements.

Life is so very simpel .... Now we have a opportunity to remake the world .... WAR and CHAOS. 😳 🇺🇸 🇩🇪

Speech by Lars Klingbeil, FES Tiergarten Conference 2022 `Watershed Moment - The Start of a New Era' | June 21, 2022 |

When I was 11 years old, the Berlin Wall fell and the Cold War was over. That was one of those moments. The idea of communism was dead and there was only this one path to the future: the path of liberal democracy. The clash of ideologies seemed to have been resolved. I never understood the insane idea of suppressing freedom behind walls. But that this attempt had been made left a deep impression on me.

When I was 23 and in New York for an internship, I witnessed the 9/11 attacks firsthand in that great city. The attacks changed my view of the world in many respects. They politicised me, shaped my relationship with the Bundeswehr and reinforced my interest in security policy.

And now: February 24, 2022. The beginning of the Russian war of aggression on Ukraine. A caesura for the European peace order. A `watershed moment'.

We are facing a huge political task. The old has ceased to exist, but the new has not yet begun.

Also published as an opinion piece ..

Op-Ed: What the Watershed Moment Means for German Foreign Policy

The Dutch as other NATO countries supported the many factions of jihadists and foreign terrorist ... Israel gave support to al-Nusra terror on the Golan Heights border with Syria.

Investigative reports by the Dutch newspaper Trouw and TV program Nieuwsuur in 2018 revealed the Dutch government had supported rebel groups despite knowledge of human rights violations

Dutch Gov't Admits Support for Salafist Jihadists in Syria | @BooMan - Sept. 12, 2018 |

Palestinian refugee camp Yarmouk lies on the south side of Damascus and was invaded from the terror drive from Jordan and the early district of Dara'a participating in the revolt. The US and UK had training camps inside Jordan.

Palestinians welcomed the Al Nusra terror group until the Islamic state penetrated from Iraq and occupied the Southern oil fields. After Russian intervention from 2015 forward, the human tragedy and deaths were limited. From areas where the Syrian Army moved back in, the Islamic fighters were transported into Idlib which was fenced off by Turkish and Russian forces.

offshore-technology | Should the Airbus 225 Super Puma be grounded for good?, 13 Jul 2016

At the time of writing, over 27,000 people, some of them relatives of those killed in other Super Puma incidents, have put their names to the petition....
ainonline | Resurrection of the Super Puma, 2 May 2022
It started with the stuff of nightmares and ended like the story of Lazarus--back from the dead.

On April 26, 2016, the main rotor separated from an Airbus Helicopters EC225LP (LN-OJF) that was cruising at 2,000 feet and 140 knots near Turoy, Norway, while transporting offshore oil workers
[...]
Turoy was just the latest in a series of high-profile Super Puma crashes dating back to 2009, involving derivatives including the EC225 and the AS332 L2, tied to gearbox problems. On April 1, 2009, all 16 aboard died when the main rotor gearbox failed on an AS332 L2 off Peterhead, Scotland, and in 2012 gearbox issues were linked to a pair of successful Super Puma ditchings off Scotland and the Shetland Islands.

But Turoy proved to be the most terrible crescendo. Not surprisingly, deliveries of new Super Pumas dropped off a cliff, from 42 in 2015 to 19 in 2016 to just eight in 2017. Airbus Helicopters' then-CEO Guillaume Faury felt obliged to make a high-profile flight into London on one in October 2017, telling reporters, "It takes time to restore trust after these accidents."

European aviation conglomerate Airbus Helicopters delivered this particular example [?] to the Ukrainian government in 2019, according to The Associated Press [APsplainin, citing an unnamed French defense official. That same official stressed that it was not part of any military aid package for Ukraine following Russia's invasion last year.

The helicopter was from a batch of 21 H225Ms, among other helicopters, that the Ukrainian government had ordered from Airbus, deliveries of which had started in 2018. H225M helicopters are now in service with both SES and the country's National Guard.

"Thanks to the excellent operational cooperation with Airbus, we will also set up a local training and maintenance [!] centre in Ukraine to support our new modernized fleet of helicopters," [Arsen Avakov, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine,] added.

In a video address at the World Economic Forum in Davos, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the helicopter crash that killed 14 people, including the top leadership of Ukraine's Interior Ministry, wasn't "just an accident."

When asked by the interviewer if he was worried about potential threats to his personal security, Zelensky responded, "I'm not worried. I have nothing to add."

"I believe, given my experience with war and the current state of our society, that this was not an accident -- it was the war. War is not limited to the battlefield -- it has many fronts. There are no mere accidents. Everything that happens is the result of war," Zelensky said.

eurointegration.com.ua | German Intelligence Alarmed by Ukrainian Huge Losses in Battles for Bakhmut, 20 Jan under the radar
Germany's foreign intelligence service (BND) is alarmed by huge losses the Ukrainian army is suffering in fighting against Russian forces in Bakhmut.

According to Spiegel, the BND told Bundestag MPs at a secret meeting this week that the Ukrainian army is currently losing a three-digit number of soldiers every day in battles with the Russian occupiers.

"The Ukrainians are currently suffering huge losses near Bakhmut. The BND briefing informs about three-digit numbers of casualties per day. According to the analysis, the fall of Bakhmut would have consequences for the entire line of Ukrainian defence. They say that Russia is now throwing soldiers like cannonballs since the losses there do not bother it," Spiegel informs.

[...]
However, as I understand it, in your opinion, the West should continue to support Ukraine militarily?
Yes, it is necessary to supply the Ukrainians with weapons, but not by drip. This help should also be of a completely different nature. Together with NATO, we should start training new formations of the Ukrainian army - in Poland, Germany and France. Train those Ukrainian citizens who are here - mobilize, train, appoint, send to the front, because it is getting harder for Ukraine.

Did I understand you correctly - do you think that in Poland those Ukrainians who now live in our country should be mobilized and trained?
And why not? In France, in 1939 and 1940, we built an army of 80,000 people from emigrants and those who fled Poland after the September defeat. soldiers. And why not build such Ukrainian troops in Poland and send them to the front? It is only a matter of intergovernmental agreements, and it can be done, there is nothing to wait for.

As for Ukrainian citizens residing in NATO countries, including Poland, those who wanted to fight at the front are already in Ukraine.
And now we're going to ask them if they want to be soldiers or not? You have to mobilize, conscript into the army and that's it. Forgive me for saying this, but as a soldier, it hurts me that Ukraine is wasting its chance with our participation.

swissinfo.ch | U.S. officials advise Ukraine to wait on offensive, official says, 20 Jan 23:23 CEST
until the latest supply of U.S. weaponry is in place and training has been provided, a senior Biden administration official said on Friday. The official, speaking to a small group of reporters on condition of anonymity, said the United States was holding fast to its decision not to provide Abrams tanks to Ukraine at this time, amid a controversy with Germany over tanks.
[...]
The message from the Americans was that Ukraine had spent considerable resources defending the city of Bakhmut but that there is a high potential that the Russians will eventually push the Ukrainians out of that town, the official said. If that happens, it will not result in any strategic shift on the battlefield, the official said.

One consideration for the Ukrainians, the official said, is how much they continue to pour into defending Bakhmut at a time when they are preparing for an offensive to try to drive the Russians out of areas they hold in southern Ukraine.

U.S. officials are working with the Ukrainians on this trade[-]off, the official said.

Ukraine conflict: "Now would be the right time to resume the broken negotiations"
"Arms deliveries mean pointlessly prolonging the war"

Interview with retired General Harald Kujat*.

* Current Affairs in Focus What value do you give to the coverage of Ukraine in our mainstream media ?

Retired General Harald Kujat The Ukrainian war is not only a military conflict; it is also an economic and an information war. In this information war, one can become a participant in the war if one adopts information and arguments that one can neither verify nor judge on the basis of one's own competence. In some cases, motives that are understood as moral or ideological also play a role.

This is particularly problematic in Germany because the media mainly feature "experts" who have no knowledge or experience of security policy and strategy and therefore express opinions that they draw from publications by other "experts" with comparable expertise. Obviously, this also builds up political pressure on the German government. The debate about the delivery of certain weapons systems shows abundantly clearly the intention of many media outlets to play politics themselves. It may be that my unease about this development is a consequence of my many years of service in NATO, including as chairman of the NATO-Russia Council and the NATO-Ukraine Commission of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

I find it particularly galling that so little attention is being paid to German security interests and the dangers to our country from an expansion and escalation of the war. This shows a lack of sense of responsibility or, to use an old-fashioned term, a highly unpatriotic attitude. In the United States, one of the two main players in this conflict, the approach to the Ukraine war is much more nuanced and controversial, but nonetheless always guided by national interests.

They spoke out in early 2022, when the situation on the border with Ukraine was becoming increasingly acute, to the then Inspector General of the Navy, Vice General Kai-Achim Schönbach, and in a sense backed him. He issued an urgent warning against escalation with Russia and reproached the West for humiliating Putin and that it was necessary to negotiate with him on an equal footing.

I did not speak out on the matter, but to defend him from unqualified attacks. However, I have always believed that this war must be prevented and that it could have been prevented. I also spoke out publicly on this in December 2021. And at the beginning of January 2022, I published proposals on how a result acceptable to all sides could be achieved in negotiations that would avoid war after all. Unfortunately, things turned out differently.

Putin Says Russia Hasn't Even Started In Ukraine As He Dares West To Try To Defeat Russia On Battlefield | RFERL - July 7, 2022 |

White House - 2 Dec

The Kremlin on Friday rejected U.S. President Joe Biden's conditions that Russian troops fully withdraw from Ukraine before he speak with President Vladimir Putin.

Berlin - 2 Dec.

Putin urged Berlin to "reconsider its approaches in the context of the Ukrainian events," the Kremlin said.

He accused the West of carrying out "destructive" policies in Ukraine, stressing that its political and financial aid "leads to the fact that Kyiv completely rejects the idea of any negotiations."

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had ruled out any talks with Russia while Putin is in power.

Zelensky admits he is being nudged to negotiate with Moscow

Paris - 17 Dec.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky admitted in an interview to France's LCI television channel he is being nudged to negotiate with Moscow.

"There are those who are urging me to sit at the negotiating table," he said. "But I don't see anything to discuss."

Moscow - 27 Dec.

Moscow's proposals for settlement in Ukraine are well known to Kyiv and either Ukraine fulfils them for their own good or the Russian army will decide the issue, TASS agency quoted Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as saying.

"The point is simple: Fulfil them for your own good. Otherwise, the issue will be decided by the Russian army."

EU to provide Ukraine with €18 billion in financial assistance for 2023, says von der Leyen | EuroNews - Oct. 21, 2022 |

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced that the EU is set to provide Ukraine with up to €18 billion in financial assistance throughout 2023 to cover the basic budgetary needs of the war-torn country.

"It is very important for Ukraine to have a predictable and stable flow of income," von der Leyen said at the end of two-day meeting of EU leaders in Brussels.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said earlier this month his country will need around $55 billion (€56 billion) to sustain next year's budget deficit and repair damaged infrastructure.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has estimated that, for 2023, Ukraine will need between €3 billion to €4 billion in foreign aid on a monthly basis to keep its public services running ...

Scandalous official in charge of procurement in Defence Ministry fired | Pravda Ukraine - Jan. 25, 2023 |

Khmelnytskyi has already been involved in a corruption scandal; in August 2022, as Ukrainska Pravda's sources said, there was a case about embezzlement of US$580,000 of the ministry's funds during the procurement of military ammunition. The Defence Ministry declared that UP's information "was not true".

How does this conflict not go nuclear when one side is not a rational actor? If the west is not willing to lose there will be endless incremental escalations. The US has the air power to conventionally defeat Russia. Russia would have to go nuclear to prevent this.

For the US hegemony to stay on top it must destroy China. It can't destroy China until it destroys Russia. The cherry on top is the economic destruction of the EU in the process.

Yes this line of thinking is not rational but it appears to be policy. You go to WW3 with the leaders you have, not the leaders you want or wish to have.

West risks war with Russia over escalating military aid | Irish Times - Jan. 17, 2023 |

Putin's restraint in the face of massive western military aid to Ukraine has been remarkable but his forbearance may not be boundless

From day one of the war in Ukraine, the most powerful argument against unrestrained western intervention in the conflict has been the danger of catastrophic escalation into an all-out war between Nato and Russia.

So far, western governments have shied away from a truly existential confrontation with Russia. But the threat remains that continuing western military aid to Ukraine will provoke Russian countermeasures that could turn Moscow's proxy war with Nato into a direct military conflict.

Western hawks have long argued the danger of escalation is illusory. In an op-ed for The New York Times, former British diplomat Nigel Gould-Davies claimed "Putin has no red lines" and that, far from being deterred by fear of escalation, the West should call Putin's bluff and threaten Russia with nuclear retaliation if he overreacts to western support for Ukraine.

Gould-Davies provides no hard evidence for his insights into Putin's mind. His argument is pure speculation, and prompts the question: what if Putin won't back away from a major war with the West? Should NATO be taking even a small risk of igniting a larger conflict that could kill millions?

CNN Interview by Smerconish: "Putin has no red lines": Ex-ambassador explains Putin's mindset

Both men will not back down, for Joe it has all the hallmarks of being personal contrary to the defeat in the 20 year war in Afghanistan or the failure in a quagmire created in Syria through intervention by Russia. For the Russian Federation the encroachment by NATO after the end of the Cold War is perceived as an existential threat similar to the response of the Kennedy administration and the positioning of Russian ballistic missiles on Cuba in 1962.

The Doomsday Clock is ticking seconds away.

UK Gov DisInfo -- Institute for Statecraft

The Integrity Initiative (II) is an organ of the UK Deep state, controlled through the Institute for Statecraft. It was exposed in 2018-19 by 7 sets of leaked documents. Craig Murray blogged that it "offers us a glimpse into the very dirty world of surveillance and official disinformation. If we actually had a free media, it would be the biggest story of the day." Lucy Morgan Edwards summarised it in January 2019 as "an extremely shady covert disinformation and anti-democratic deep state outfit".

By the end of 2019 a large majority of the group's publicly known members (right) had removed all mention of it from their public pages such as LinkedIn.

So now this shithead has the platform to spout ugly warmongering nonsense with credentials of a past ambassadorship in Belarus and a job at the British Embassy spy nest in Moscow, likely at the time of Christopher Steel and Andrew Wood.

The so-called peace talks known as the Minsk process was initiated in 2014 and included Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany. For eight years, Ukraine and the West tried to end the war by means of politics and diplomacy. Ukraine agreed to freeze battle lines and engaged in years of fruitless negotiations in order to, seemingly, avoid escalation and preserve peace in Europe.

Jeffrey Frank Jones, Russia's Regular And Special Forces In The Regional And Global War On Terror
The Russo-Ukraine War consisted of four major phases. The initial phase began in mid- to late-February 2014. The phase consisted of unconventional covert actions and the establishment of the DPR and LPR in April 2014. The second phase in the Russo-Ukrainian War found Ukrainian forces, to include the military and local police, seeking to regain equilibrium following the innitial succes of Russian forces and their partisan counterparts. Classifying the actions of the partisans as terrorist operations and the perpetrators as terrorists, the Ukainian government launched a series of actions they called Anti-Terrorist Operations [ATO], to retake seized territory by the DPR and LPR. The second phase bled into the third phase, which consisted of a series of major battles between Ukrainian forces and those of Russi and their partisan supporters. The final phase, which is ongoing, is essentially a stalemente with forces from both sides dug into defense positions along the entirety of the front ["contact line"] who engage in sporadic, smale-scale skirmishes and artillery or rocket attacks. The third and fourth pases of the war, as journalist Thomas Gibbons-Neff writes, are more reminiscent of World War I battlefields [ATO trench network] that what would expect to find to find into the twenty-first century. a flak, of course, enforcing certain prejudices  which I may or may not be prepared to interrogate.

Google makes Jones' 2,427 pp encyclopedia ("combined publications") of organizational hygiene within Russian Special Forces, for instance, prepared for training US military officers available to the public. This fact alone indicates that the contents are not valuable in execution of present US military strategy. It's an artifact of US military culture and its knowledge base (or doctrine), which ought not be construed as either impartial or revealing US situational intelligence.

Of the sections that have not been restricted by Google publishing marketing, I selected that excerpt to corroborate my recollection of events (approximate period, time) contemporaneously reported by anglophone popular press. In particular I had been searching for ATO activity in Donbas immediately after Dec 2013 Maidan. A "Fort Sumter" rebel battery, if you will. Otherwise (to mix analogies), one might argue that Uncle Volody's "anti-terrorist" warrant in CY 2014 characterized a pogrom were details of concerted UA law enforcement agents, army regulars, and militia volunteer missions not studiously avoided by NATO-sympathetic OUN informants to this day.

Conversely, I supplemented this excerpt with a few competing documents of responsibility for Trilateral and Minsk I, II agreements by relevant parties. Which ironically illustrates the dearth of archived informantion provided by Russian "delegates" to intergovernmental agencies said to be assuring civilian safety in the "grey zone"—despite my inordinate effort to drill relevant databases. By year.

Here's my rule o' thumb, when reading historiography: survey multiple sources, compile chronolological qualitative and quantitative facts, prioritize historicity of witnesses (oldest before newest), and note "outlier" dictation—usually these set upper- and lower-bounds of plausible testimony.

So. In this case, all I needed Jones (a "hostile witness", as it were) to do is confirm active ATO combat in Donbas before, during, and after Minsk deliberations, because the UA regime prefers not to.

Bankers and Wall Street define US Foreign and domestic policy. Capitalism above all.

The Vietnam War eventually ended in 1975, essentially on the same terms as had been available in 1968. Tens of thousands more Americans died, as did a far higher, uncountable number of Vietnamese. During this time, the war further metastasized to Cambodia, where the Nixon administration ramped up a bombing campaign that dropped 2.7 million tons of ordnance on that poor, rural society. This was more than the 2 million tons of bombs the U.S. had used during all of World War II. The extraordinary devastation plausibly led to the rise of the Khmer Rouge and the subsequent Cambodian genocide.

That's the downside. The upside is that Nixon got to be president, and Americans' innocence about how politics works was preserved.

... It was only in 2016 that Nixon's direct involvement was finally proved beyond a doubt.

RICHARD NIXON: Let me say--

PRESIDENT JOHNSON: --your platform--

RICHARD NIXON: I won't take any advantage of you.

PRESIDENT JOHNSON: Oh, I know that. I know that. I wouldn't be--

RICHARD NIXON: Naturally, because we've got to do the right thing--

PRESIDENT JOHNSON: I wouldn't be calling you. I'm going to keep you informed--

RICHARD NIXON: I appreciate it.

PRESIDENT JOHNSON: --just as much as I keep anybody informed.

RICHARD NIXON: Yeah.

PRESIDENT JOHNSON: And I'm going to tell you everything that affects the country.

Context of President Lyndon Johnson decision in March 1968 for a partial cessation of bombing over 90% of North Vietnam, including the major cities of Hanoi and Haiphong. In the major TET offensive of early February 1968, the Viet Cong took the battle into the outskirts of Saigon.

Johnson urged North Vietnam to reciprocate by not taking advantage and come to the conference in Paris for peace talks. It was a start in the career of Henry Kissinger to leak essential information of the negotiations in Paris to the Nixon campaign. Traitors to America and the international order presumed by the UN Charter.

The Republican cabal of Nixon in the White House were willing to bomb the North Vietnamese to the negotiating table four years later in 1972. The American electorate were quite fond of Tricky Dick Nixon and carried his cabal to a second term by a landslide.

The Christmas Bombing -- dropping between 20 and 40,000 tons of bombs

In a scene that seemed right out of the World War II film classic Twelve O'Clock High, the briefer came to the podium and announced, "Gentlemen, your target for tonight is Hanoi," as a slide of North Vietnam with a target triangle over the capital lit up the screen behind him. This was the first time the big bombers would be sent against Hanoi's heavy defenses.

The US had been fighting in Vietnam since 1965. Since 1968, alongside the hostilities, the then US National Security Advisor Henry Kissinger and North Vietnamese politburo member Lê Đức Thọ were engaged in secret talks in Paris, seeking a negotiated peace.

In the spring of 1972, the DRV launched its largest offensive, the `Nguyen Hue' Offensive (known in the West as the Easter Offensive), in which the North Vietnamese forces almost overran South Vietnam. In response, the US conducted `Operation Linebacker,' an aerial bombing campaign over Hanoi and mining Haiphong Harbor.

Lessons never learned ...

That's all the more reason to defend the South [Korea] against China's resurgent, aggressive leadership that's a throwback to the one we were courting half a century ago while betraying our South Vietnamese friends in their hours of greatest need.

Media and journalists are similarly obsessed with war and evil empires while a mirror would makes more sense.

This is a war on Europeans from day 1. It comes with the complete destruction of universities, especially in human sciences and literature, where (the few remaining) researchers are now being forced to become self-employed and uberized. Lots of money spent on big events, coloured paper, but actually no jobs behind them, rather a desperate attempt of the EU institutions to find staff for its own cannibal bureaucracy.

The German Government has now confirmed in answer to a parliamentary question that the document is authentic.

Leaked document: How the Federal German Government is working on "Gleichschaltung of the narrative" on the Ukraine war--Part I

NachDenkSeiten has exclusively been leaked an internal document of the German Government. We were able to verify the paper and we also know the identity of the whistleblower. The document gives an illuminating insight into the extent of the horizontal and vertical structures of--there is no other way to put it--propaganda by the German state at federal level, especially as regards the official involvement of media (e.g. Der Spiegel and Stern), Western social media corporations, educational institutions and so-called "fact-checkers".

After ordering more weapons, it's not time to speak about peace ... after Putin stands down, then peace talks would be passible. #RegimeChange

Ukrainian leader: I'm not interested in meeting Putin

Zelenskyy said that Putin doesn't want negotiations because he doesn't want peace:
"I am convinced that Ukraine is just the first step for him. I am convinced that he is waging a big war. And having the whole world helping Ukraine now - he is not thinking about that. He is thinking, 'Well, it's not working out in Ukraine now, but we will wait... the world won't stay united, they will get tired and I will move further'.

"But after Ukraine, there will be further steps, there will be other countries if we fail to withstand. I think we will manage, we will get support, and we will win."

Ukraine war: Tanks, peace talks, Putin and Boris Johnson - key points from Kay Burley's interview with Volodymyr Zelenskyy | Sky News - Jan. 26, 2023 |

The president added that, before the invasion, Putin never met for talks because he had no intention of preserving peace, saying: "He was just trying to mislead us. He doesn't want negotiations because he doesn't want peace. He can slow down things.

"They were sending messages about peace talks, and we have proof of it, only when they needed time to regroup on the battlefield.

"When they had huge losses, they were saying that they wanted peace. This is a lie. We saw them say that they wanted peace and then they would strike with missiles at night.

"We hope that once Russia pulls its troops back to their territory, they will admit their big mistakes, and there will be a new government in the Russian Federation. We are neighbours. It will be only then that we will be resolving this situation. Then, probably, talks will be possible."
