Wilderism Hate Mongering, Now ICC Troublemaker

A bad habit of lying, because she should know better having served as a scholar at the Dutch Labour party think tank, Wiardi Beckman Stichting, ... Ayaan herself entered Europe as an asylum seeker and lied in het applications for asylum in The Netherlands. Her anti-Islam stance was more opportunistic in Ihe rightwing conservative party of VVD leader Frits Bolkestein. Her colleagues were Rita Verdonk, Geert Wilders and a coming man from the JOVD Youth Group,  Mark Rutte. Because she apparently was illegal, there was political pressure to give up her seat in Dutch parliament.

Telling stories, creating (and saving) her life. An analysis of the autobiography
of Ayaan Hirsi Ali

Ayaan Hirsi Ali's Prey: A Panel Discussion on Europe, Islam, and Women's Rights

Somali-Born Legislator Ayaan Hirsi Ali's Dutch Citizenship Rescinded | VOA - 1 Nov 2009 |

The Dutch Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk (VVD) had been under pressure to limit illegal immigrants seeking asylum. She decided last week to revoke the citizenship of the Somali-born legislator Ayaan Hirsi Ali because she lied on her Dutch asylum application in 1992. The legislator then announced plans to resign her seat in parliament, leave The Netherlands, and take a job with a private conservative research organization, American Enterprise Institute, in Washington.

What brought Hirsi Ali to international attention was the documentary she made with Dutch filmmaker Theo van Gogh [diary July 2005] that criticized the treatment of women under Islam. She had been living with 24-hour police protection since his murder by a Mohammed Bouyeri, born in Amsterdam to a family of Moroccan descent. [Boueri has dual-citizenship as required by the Kingdom of Morocco.]

But Frank Hendrickx of The Netherlands Press Agency (NPA) told Judith Latham of VOA News Now's International Press Club that the saga of the Somali-born woman became entangled with many other issues such as immigration, assimilation, women's rights, Islam and the role of Muslim communities in Europe.

Pakistani journalist and former Pakistani Ambassador to Britain, Akbar Ahmed, says Hirsi Ali was controversial among conservative Muslims because of her role as screenwriter for the van Gogh film Fitna, which criticized the treatment of women in Islam as well as for her claim that the 9/11 terrorist attacks had their origins in Islam. Similarly, many members of the Dutch population saw her as a "troublemaker," while others supported her as a champion of women's rights and reform in Islam.

Egyptian journalist Mona Eltahawy notes that Hirsi Ali managed to unveil the hypocrisy in The Netherlands, a country that enjoys a reputation as one of the most tolerant societies in Europe but that also has strains of racism. On the other hand, Ms. Eltahawy says many Muslims in Europe have been extremely "reluctant to meet their host societies half way," which has fueled resentment toward them.

Geert Wilders to Netanyahu: The ICC prosecutor is ridiculous and wrong | Ynet News |

Dutch right-wing leader speaks to Netanyahu to express support for Israel and denounce the ICC decision to seek arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Geert Wilders, the head of the Netherlands' Party for Freedom, the largest political faction and a member of the ruling coalition, announced on Thursday that he would be pursuing police action after his travel plans to Israel were leaked to the media, allegedly by Dutch civil servants.

"Today, I spoke with the Internal Investigations Department [of the Dutch police]. I will be filing a report because of the leak of my itinerary in Israel," Wilders said. According to Wilders, the NRC daily reported on the confidential trip plans "shortly after our embassy in Israel was informed.

"This endangers my safety, as well as that of my security guards. Totally unacceptable," the Dutch leader concluded his statement. Wilders has lived under 24/7 strict police protection since 2004 after receiving death threats over his vocal criticism of Islamic extremists.

The Nov. 14 NRC report said Wilders was set to tour Israel from Dec. 8 through Dec. 10 at the invitation of the ruling Likud Party and Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan.

Party for Freedom lawmaker Raymond de Roon confirmed Wilders's plans in parliament earlier this week, saying that the trip to Judea and Samaria was aimed at "orienting himself on the situation on the ground."

NRC claimed that the meeting between Wilders and Dagan would run counter to the policies of Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp, a member of the junior coalition partner New Social Contract Party. He supports the creation of a Palestinian state in Judea, Samaria and Gaza.

Veldkamp told members of the Dutch House of Representatives on Thursday that while he was unable to prevent individual members of parliament from traveling, he would discuss the trip with the Cabinet.

Veldkamp was also scheduled to fly to Jerusalem for an official visit, but Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar cancelled it due to the Dutch diplomat's support for the International Criminal Court arrest warrants against Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Wilders--a staunch supporter of Israel's right to the entire Land of Israel from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea--resided in the Jewish state for two years during his youth and has reportedly visited the country more than 40 times. After he graduated from secondary school, he spent a year as a volunteer at Moshav Tomer in the Jordan Valley.

In 2018, Wilders declared, "The more Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria the better for that land is Jewish--and Jordan is Palestine!"

Where is former German defense minister Ursula Von der Leyen hiding after her travels to rightwing Hudson Institute, Ben Gurion university in Negev desert, lasting support for Netanyahu and his war cabinet showing the German biased position, not recognizing the fate of the Palestinian indigenous people and leveling with International Law on genocide. On the wrong side of history and humanity ... AGAIN.

European nations back ICC after it orders arrest of Netanyahu, Gallant | JNS |

Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp said his government would scrap all "non-essential contacts" with the Israeli prime minister.

European governments backed the International Criminal Court in The Hague following its decision on Thursday to issue arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and slain Hamas terror leader Mohammed Deif.

Josep Borrell, the European Union's outgoing foreign-policy chief, claimed that the ruling was "not political" and should be respected.

"I take note of the decision of the international criminal court to issue arrest warrants for Prime Minister Netanyahu, the former minister of defense, Mr. Gallant, and the Hamas leader, Deif," Borrell said. "This decision is a binding decision on all states, all the state parties of the court, which include all members of the European Union," he added.

"The Netherlands obviously respects the independence of the ICC and does not interfere in the substance of investigations conducted by the ICC," Dutch Foreign Minister Caspar Veldkamp stated in parliament.

"We will examine the ruling, but the position of the Cabinet is clear: We are a party to the Rome Statute, and based on the Rome Statute [which established the court] and the ICC Implementing Act, we are obliged to cooperate with the ICC, and we will also do that," he continued.

The Hague's top diplomat said the Dutch government would scrap all "non-essential contacts" with Netanyahu in response to the ICC ruling. Veldkamp is scheduled to visit the Jewish state in the coming weeks. [has been cancelled by FM Saar for this very reason]

A French Foreign Ministry spokesperson informed AFP that Paris would respond in line with the court's founding statutes, raising the possibility that Netanyahu and Gallant could be placed under arrest in France.

U.S. Consulate in Benghazi Seen in Flames during a protest by an armed group said to have been protesting an American film insulting the prophet

Nearly 3,000 demonstrators, most of supporters of the Salafist movement, gathered at the embassy in protest over a film deemed offensive to the Prophet Mohammed (Peace Be Upon Him) which was produced in the United States.

A dozen men scaled the embassy walls and one of them tore down the US flag, replacing it with a black one inscribed with the Muslim profession of faith: "There is no God but God and Mohammed is the prophet of God."

Egyptian police intervened without resort to force and persuaded the trespassers to come down. The crowd then largely dispersed leaving just a few hundred protesters outside the US mission, an AFP correspondent reported.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the film, "Innocence of Muslims", was made by Israeli-American Sam Bacile, a 52-year-old real-estate developer from southern California.

The film is being promoted by controversial Florida pastor Terry Jones, who has drawn protests in the past for burning the Koran and vehemently opposing the construction of a mosque near Ground Zero in New York.

Arab League deputy secretary general, Ahmed Ben Helli, has condemned the film saying it "contained insults against the prophet Mohammed" and "was denounced by Christians and Muslims" across the Arab world.

Tuesday's protests came on the eleventh anniversary of the attacks of September 11, 2001, when US cities were targeted by hijacked planes.

Sudan: Expanding the Tent of the Abraham Accords | JCFA |

Sudan's sovereign council head General Abdel-Fattah al-Burhan meets Israeli foreign minister Eli Cohen in Khartoum, Sudan, Feb 2023 (Sudan Sovereignty Council Press Office)

Sudan's full entry into the Abraham Accords is a powerful symbolic statement of the rejection of Arab rejectionism. It is a fuller and more comprehensive casting of the Khartoum calumny on peace with Israel after the 1967 war to the wastebasket of history.

Growing normalization with Israel will significantly augment military cooperation between the two countries. In addition, it will strengthen intelligence gathering and sharing capabilities and empower the Sudanese military to contend with and ultimately curtail the arms trafficking running through its ports and territorial waters.

It was dead on arrival.. the Abraham Accords was never going to survive in Sudan.. politicians are one thing .. Sudanese people is something different. "Furthermore, it reaffirmed its readiness to implement all necessary deterrent measures to protect social harmony and peaceful coexistence, strictly adhering to the nation's laws and regulations," the statement said.

Islamic State-Khorasan: global jihad's new front | ISW - 29 Mar 2024 |

The attack on the Crocus City Hall in Krasnogorsk on 22 March which claimed the lives of 139 individuals was another spectacular terrorist attack carried out by Islamic State-Khorasan (ISIS-K) in recent months. The previous attacks happened in Iran, Turkey and other countries, while those planned in Germany, Sweden and other locations were thwarted.

From the beginning of its operation, foreigners who fought in Afghanistan (such as Uzbeks from the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan and the Islamic Jihad Union, Uyghurs, as well as volunteers from South Asia) and representatives of non-Pashtun Afghan ethnic groups (including Tajiks, Uzbeks and Balochis) have formed strong constituent groups of the organisation's membership.

Jewish Press The Forward ...

Kogan's murder could pose a test for relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. Israeli media is reporting, without citing sources, that Israeli and Emirati authorities believe Kogan was abducted and murdered by Uzbek nationals working on behalf of Iran. Iran, which is known to orchestrate terrorism beyond its borders, vowed to retaliate after Israel bombed its military facilities in October, in its own retaliation against an Iranian missile attack, but so far has not done so.

UAE arrests three Uzbek nationals as remains of murdered rabbi repatriated to Israel | France24 |

United Arab Emirates authorities revealed on Monday the identities of the three suspects arrested for the murder of UAE-based Israeli-Moldovan rabbi Tzvi Kogan. All three suspects "are Uzbek nationals", the interior ministry said. A plane carrying Kogan's body landed at Ben Gurion airport Monday, a spokeswoman for Israel's airport authority said.

The three suspects were arrested on Sunday, and after "preliminary investigations" the interior ministry identified them in a statement.

"The authorities revealed the identities of the three perpetrators, all of whom are Uzbek nationals," said the statement published Monday by the official WAM news agency.

It named them as Olimboy Tohirovich, 28, Makhmudjon Abdurakhim, 28, and Azizbek Kamilovich, 33.

The ministry said authorities were taking "the necessary actions to uncover the details, circumstances and motives of the crime".

Will Washington pressure Ankara to reverse its anti-Israel actions? Turkey Turns Screws on Israel | Informed Comment |

Turkey's reluctance to move from rhetoric to action may be finally changing, however. Last week, Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that his country would sever all diplomatic ties with Israel, heralding a new phase of tensions between Ankara and Tel Aviv. At the same time, Ankara has now declared that it will close embargo loopholes and will lobby the UN for a global arms embargo on Israel (a move supported by Beijing and Moscow). Last week, Ankara reportedly blocked top jets with Israeli officials from entering its airspace.

More than a year into the war, with Israel now bombing seven majority Muslim nations--Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, and Iran--Turkey's changing stance towards Tel Aviv reflects the immense pressure from the Turkish public, a majority of whom are adamantly opposed to Israel's actions in Gaza. But it also indicates that, should the war escalate further, Turkey would find it more and more difficult to avoid direct involvement--not least because of the huge number of refugees that would almost certainly be forced into Turkey should the bombing of Lebanon continue and plans for mass expulsions of Palestinians take effect. Given the intense socioeconomic tensions set off by the presence of 3 million Syrian refugees in Turkey, Erdoğan will be under enormous pressure as more Arab refugees move closer to Turkey's borders.

Turkey's severing of diplomatic ties with Israel is not just symbolic. Turkey is not Honduras, Brazil, or Bahrain, to list some of the dozen-odd countries that have likewise broken diplomatic ties with Israel. A NATO member with a critical geostrategic position in the region and one of the largest land armies in Europe, Turkey is also the conduit for as much as 40 percent of Israel's energy, piped in from Azerbaijan via Turkey. Should Erdoğan decide to cut off or restrict Azeri oil, then Israel's already flailing economy, along with its energy-hungry and increasingly disaffected military, could collapse.

The Hague Court of Appeal's ruling that the State of the Netherlands (hereinafter the "State") must cease exports of F-35 parts to Israel can be upheld

That is the recommendation given by Advocate General Vlas to the Supreme Court in the opinion he delivered today. According to the Advocate General, the Court of Appeal was justified in finding that there is a clear risk that Israel's F-35 fighter jets are being used to commit serious violations of international humanitarian law in the Gaza Strip. Under various international regulations to which the Netherlands is a party, exports of military goods must be banned if such a clear risk exists.
