Leipziger Protest as Germany Enters the War

Leipziger Protest on Human Rights and Gaza War

Activists interrupt Steinmeier's speech in Leipzig

Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's speech at the Leipzig Book Fair was interrupted several times by pro-Palestinian demonstrators. The seven activists called for a ceasefire in the Gaza war and accused Israel of genocide. In addition, German arms deliveries were loudly criticized.

The day before, Chancellor Olaf Scholz's (SPD) speech at the opening of the book fair was interrupted several times by activists.

"No easy views on this topic"

Steinmeier addressed the interruptions several times. "You left your message, we don't agree, but we heard you," said Steinmeier. The protesters were led out of the Old Stock Exchange by security guards.

«We live in a democracy. We are able to endure it," said Steinmeier about the disruptions. "This is a serious topic that we don't just discuss in this country during the book fair." There are different perspectives, but: "There are no simple perspectives on this topic. And it can't be done on the sidelines and with signature lists."

Steinmeier said he very much hopes "that the talks about the release of the hostages, which are currently in full swing, will be successful" and lead to a ceasefire.

Steinmeier warns against "isolated retreats"

In his subsequent undisturbed speech, Steinmeier called on people in Germany to be willing to talk to each other and warned against isolation and sticking to their own positions. In a society as diverse as Germany's, there will always be different experiences, different resonance spaces, depending on where you live and grew up, said Steinmeier. "There is only one thing that must not happen: that these different worlds of experience become isolated retreats around which walls are built."

Our society needs "curiosity instead of self-reflection, openness instead of withdrawal, trust instead of mistrust, suggestions instead of accusations," said Steinmeier. "We only have political strength as a community and not if we see ourselves primarily as victims of differences." What is needed is energy for the major challenges that lie ahead, trust in ourselves and a common narrative of our democracy. "We are a strong country that has also overcome crises in the past. We know this. Let's trust in ourselves that we can continue to do this in the future."

No statement about the 100,000 Palestinian victims of the Israeli onslaught of which a vast majority are civilians, children of all ages and women. No excuse for a brutal Nakba 2.0 ethnic cleansing of Palestinian land.

Where has our early optimism gone?

Macron Leads NATO Escalation Risks WWIII

Russian war rhetoric / propaganda from Orbán's Hungary

Háborús közleményt adott ki a budapesti orosz nagykövetség | Index.hu |

On Wednesday, the Russian embassy in Budapest issued statements about the war in Ukraine. The two communiques basically state the already described Russian position, and also talk about a possible escalation with NATO.

From time to time, the Russian embassy in Budapest has issued statements about the war or its causes.

Two announcements have now been published, which were sent to our editorial office by e-mail. One is entitled The role of Western countries in the conflict in Ukraine, while the other is generally about "the situation around Ukraine".

Both announcements basically repeat the Russian position already presented in recent years. The first statement begins with the fact that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States and its NATO allies began to gain influence in the former Soviet member republics and, according to them, tried to transform them "under the guise of 'democratization', without any regard for national interests" according to their goals.

They continue to claim that Russia did not invade Ukraine

According to their point of view, Ukraine has always received special attention, and according to them, this was the result of the Ukrainian revolutions of 2004 and 2013-14.

In their opinion, further escalation could have been avoided after 2014 if the parties had complied with the agreement reached on February 21, 2014, between President Viktor Yanukovych and Ukrainian opposition politicians, which served to resolve the domestic political crisis, and the unity government provided for in the agreement would be established. In the statement, they wrote that all of this was prevented by Western politicians, who advocated regime change instead of consolidation, and, according to them, this is why the conflict in eastern Ukraine later turned sour.

Response from Russian spokesperson in Budapest ...

Interview with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation A.V. Grushko to the Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper, March 20, 2024

Question: A year ago, Serbian President A. Vucic said that the Serbs are trying to forgive the West for the bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999. In your opinion, can this be forgiven?

Answer: NATO aggression against Yugoslavia in 1999 brought a lot of grief and suffering to the Serbian people and caused severe damage to the economic potential and ecology of the country. During the 78 days that the bombing lasted, Western forces destroyed industry, roads, railways, bridges and airfields. Medical and educational institutions, residential buildings and architectural monuments were damaged - the NATO command attributed all this to "collateral damage." At least 10 tons of depleted uranium were dumped on the country, particles of which penetrated the environment, polluted the soil and water bodies, penetrated the food chain and led to a sharp increase in the number of cancer diseases. As a result of the airstrikes, more than 2.5 thousand citizens were killed, including dozens of children, and more than 12 thousand people were injured.

From a human point of view, this is nothing more than barbarism, and from a legal point of view, it is an undermining of the foundations of the system of international law.

Is it possible to talk about forgiveness? Perhaps in the category of Christian commandments. Another question is whether the victims of aggression will wait for the repentance of NATO members, who without a shadow of embarrassment invite the Serbian people to "turn the page and look forward" as if nothing happened. It's difficult to add anything here.

Question: The EU has obviously stopped hiding its revanchist sentiments towards Russia. Especially in Germany, there are many politicians who began to talk almost openly about their desire to get even with Moscow for losing the Second World War. After 78 days of airstrikes on Yugoslavia, Brussels seems to have believed in its absolute impunity. Has the Northern Military District become a "tub of cold water" for NATO members?

Answer: Indeed, recently in Germany there has been an increase in militaristic sentiments and revanchist rhetoric. This is happening largely at the suggestion of the top political leadership, who declared our country "the main threat to security and peace." Systemic media persistently promote the thesis of an impending military clash with Russia into the public consciousness. Some of the most aggressive Russophobes from the deputy corps agreed to public calls to "show the Russians what it's like to lose a war." Berlin again dreamed of inflicting a "strategic defeat" on Russia. Well, in the history of Germany there have already been such "dreamers". Their fate is known.

An aggressive and confrontational course is characteristic of the entire European Union. The ruling European elites enshrine it in policy-forming documents, which will have inertia for at least another 10-15 years. The goal is openly declared - to inflict a "strategic defeat" on Moscow. European leaders, obediently moving in the wake of Washington, are not aware of the risks of a direct collision with us.

Even after the failure of the Ukrainian "counteroffensive" and the successes of the Russian armed forces in the Avdeevka direction, the Europeans' aspiration for "victory," even if not by "blitzkrieg," has not gone away. And the worse things go for them within the CBO, the more irresponsible and sharper the rhetoric becomes.

However, the obsession of European elites with Ukraine is causing more and more irritation in society. While farmers cry for help, their political leaders decide to send another 50 billion euros to the Kyiv regime. The isolation of politicians from the needs of the population and the "game" of geopolitics inevitably lead to increased social tension and protest sentiments in Europe.

Question: Are the statements by Pentagon head L. Austin about the possibility of a direct clash between NATO and Russia, as well as French President E. Macron about sending European troops to Ukraine attempts to test the waters and understand whether Moscow is ready for an adequate and tough response to a repetition of the Yugoslav tragedy ? Only this time east of Ukraine.

Answer: You rightly put these provocative statements by Western politicians, as well as the conflict around Ukraine in general, on a par with the Yugoslav tragedy. These are truly links of one historical chain. Aggressions against Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya and Syria, a hybrid war with Russia and the Ukrainian crisis are all bloody stages of the hegemonic course of the "collective West", aimed at maintaining the notorious "rules-based world order" and suppressing all independent and alternative centers of international and regional influence. We would not advise anyone, as you put it, to "test the waters" and experimentally test our country's readiness for an adequate and tough response.

Berlin Stunned By Aggressive NATO Propaganda On Ukraine [Gen. Breedlove] | by Oui @BooMan - 7 March 2015 |

WOW! I've been writing about the NATO propaganda for over a year now, are parts of Europe slowly awakening they have little to say about US military power within the European Community? I always hoped Angela Merkel could withstand meddling by US in the self-interest of the European Union. Hope this is carried forward throughout the western European nations as the new-Europe of the Cold War era want a confrontational stance versus Russia and Putin. Breedlove is VP Biden's man, just as is Vicky Nuland of State, the neocon representative from the State Department on the Ukraine.

Breedlove's Bellicosity: Berlin Alarmed by Aggressive NATO Stance on Ukraine | Der Spiegel |

It was quiet in eastern Ukraine last Wednesday. Indeed, it was another quiet day in an extended stretch of relative calm. The battles between the Ukrainian army and the pro-Russian separatists had largely stopped and heavy weaponry was being withdrawn. The Minsk cease-fire wasn't holding perfectly, but it was holding.

On that same day, General Philip Breedlove, the top NATO commander in Europe, stepped before the press in Washington.

Putin, the 59-year-old said, had once again "upped the ante" in eastern Ukraine -- with "well over a thousand combat vehicles, Russian combat forces, some of their most sophisticated air defense, battalions of artillery" having been sent to the Donbass. "What is clear," Breedlove said, "is that right now, it is not getting better. It is getting worse every day."

German leaders in Berlin were stunned. They didn't understand what Breedlove was talking about. And it wasn't the first time. Once again, the German government, supported by intelligence gathered by the Bundesnachrichtendienst (BND), Germany's foreign intelligence agency, did not share the view of NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR).

The pattern has become a familiar one. For months, Breedlove has been commenting on Russian activities in eastern Ukraine, speaking of troop advances on the border, the amassing of munitions and alleged columns of Russian tanks. Over and over again, Breedlove's numbers have been significantly higher than those in the possession of America's NATO allies in Europe. As such, he is playing directly into the hands of the hardliners in the US Congress and in NATO.

The German government is alarmed. Are the Americans trying to thwart European efforts at mediation led by Chancellor Angela Merkel? Sources in the Chancellery have referred to Breedlove's comments as "dangerous propaganda." Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier even found it necessary recently to bring up Breedlove's comments with NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg.

    The 'Super Hawk'

But Breedlove hasn't been the only source of friction. Europeans have also begun to see others as hindrances in their search for a diplomatic solution to the Ukraine conflict. First and foremost among them is Victoria Nuland, head of European affairs at the US State Department. She and others would like to see Washington deliver arms to Ukraine and are supported by Congressional Republicans as well as many powerful Democrats.

Vice-President Joe Biden, who has acted as one of Obama's primary liaisons with the Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko, rapidly corrected himself after breaking from the White House's careful language on CNN, saying "When the Russians invaded - crossed the border - into Ukraine , it was, `My god. It's over.'"

Indeed, US President Barack Obama seems almost isolated. He has thrown his support behind Merkel's diplomatic efforts for the time being, but he has also done little to quiet those who would seek to increase tensions with Russia and deliver weapons to Ukraine. Sources in Washington say that Breedlove's bellicose comments are first cleared with the White House and the Pentagon. The general, they say, has the role of the "super hawk," whose role is that of increasing the pressure on America's more reserved trans-Atlantic partners.

Excellent analysis by Stephen Cohen, professor emeritus of Russian Studies at New York University and of politics at Princeton University ... about Russia's position on Ukraine.

Lavrov's interview

Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview for the documentary series Oil, Moscow, March 21, 2024

Question: We believe that oil is an instrument of political manipulation. The largest ever energy crisis of 1973 was a result of political manipulation following the Yom Kippur War. Do you agree that oil is an instrument of political manipulation? Can you provide more striking examples of this or arguments to the contrary?

Sergey Lavrov: All natural resources on which economic development, influence and might depend are instruments of political struggle. It is logical that they are used for political purposes, including geopolitical ones. We saw this in the 1980s, when the United States put colossal pressure on Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries, which were the main oil producers, bringing about a collapse in oil prices to $10 or even lower per barrel in the hope of reducing the Soviet Union's foreign exchange earnings and hence its capacity to continue to develop and ensure its security. At that time, we continued to compete with the United States and the West as a whole. They achieved their goal. The Soviet Union's revenues plummeted, which was one of the causes, though not the main or only one, that led to its dissolution. They put pressure on the oil market, used speculation for the fall, drew the Soviet Union into an arms race, and promoted "democratic reforms" when our country was not prepared for them. Taken together, this contributed to the fall of a great power.

Across old enemy lines of the former Soviet satellite states in Eastern Europe, the bellicose remarks of NATO Commander Breedlove didn’t fall on deaf ears … the hawkish think tanks of the likes of the Atlantic Council, Soros’ Open Society and the George Marshall Fund did much of the damage and set a war narrative for a stupid adventure to the Russian frontier. Nothing to gain, everything to lose and that isn’t simply our “democracy”.

On the evening of March 22, a terrorist attack took place in the large concert building "Crocus City Hall" in Moscow. Unidentified men opened fire on the crowd of people before the concert.

According to preliminary reports, there was a group of shooters in the building and they were in camouflage. After the shooting, the concert hall was engulfed in flames. The attackers probably staged an explosion.

The number of victims may be very high, there may be dozens of killed and wounded.

The special services came to the spot.

Any details are yet to be revealed.

It is reported that a partial collapse of the roof of the burning has begun, rescuers cannot fully begin to eliminate the fire due to the threat to life of civilians.

Presumably, there are still people inside.

Terrorist Attack at Crocus City Hall in Moscow: A Preliminary Intelligence Report | Special EurAsia |

The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall underlined Russia is not immune from the terrorist threat the challenges it poses to national security. Despite the swift response of Russian authorities, the ongoing investigation has yet to identify the perpetrators definitively, leaving crucial questions unanswered. Speculation regarding potential connections to Russia's actions in Ukraine remains under scrutiny.

The attack's coordinated nature underscores the need for heightened vigilance and enhanced security measures. Among the terrorist groups that represent a threat to the Russian Federation, we can mention the Islamic State, Hayat Tahrir a-Sham, and Imarat Kavkaz (Caucasus Emirate), although the last one has not been fully operative in the last years.

US Embassy in Russia issues warning of potential terror attack in Moscow over next 48 hours | Kyiv Independent - 8 Mar 2024 |

The U.S. Embassy in Russia issued a warning on March 7 that "extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow" and urged American citizens to stay away from concentrations of people over the next 48 hours.

The embassy did not specify what kind of threats they referred to, or who might be behind them. The U.K. Embassy in Russia also repeated the advisory issued by the U.S.

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said on March 7 that its agents had thwarted a potential Islamic State terrorist attack on a Moscow synagogue.

The Russian state-owned TASS news agency said that FSB agents had killed several militants who were planning the attack, citing the FSB's press office.
It is unclear if the incident is related to the U.S.'s warning.

The U.S. currently has a "level 4" travel warning for American citizens who are considering going to Russia, the highest level of such advisories.

Alleged ISKP Plot Foiled in Russia, 2 Kazakh Citizens Killed | The Diplomat Asia - 11 Mar 2024 |

Kazakh authorities have confirmed the citizenship of two men killed in an FSB raid in Russia last week, allegedly forestalling an ISKP attack.

On March 9, Kazakhstan's National Security Committee (KNB) confirmed media reports that two Kazakh citizens had been killed by law enforcement in Russia.

Two days earlier, on March 7, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said it had stopped an Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISKP) cell from carrying out a terrorist attack targeting a synagogue.

"On the territory of the Kaluga Region, a stop was put to the activity of Wilayat Khorasan, a cell of the Afghan branch of the international terrorist organization Islamic State, which is banned in Russia, whose members were planning to commit a terrorist act against one of the Jewish religious institutions in Moscow," the FSB said in a statement to the state-run TASS news agency.

Kaluga is a region southwest of Moscow.

At the time, the FSB did not identify how many people were killed or their nationalities, though video showed two bodies.

Independent Russian media outlet Astra reportedon March 8 that during a raid on a private house in the village of Koryakovo in Kaluga region two men were killed. Astra identified the deceased as 35-year-old Sabit Ashiraliev and 32-year-old Dzhanibek Taskulaev, both Kazakh citizens.

Astra's report cited security officials as saying that the two men arrived in Russia on February 28. Kazakh citizens, like those of the rest of Central Asia (except Turkmenistan), do not require a visa to enter Russia for up to 90 days.

The Islamic State in Khorasan between Taliban counter-terrorism and resurgence prospects | ICCT - 20 Jan 2024 |

While the Taliban continue to suffer from internal divisions, as of the end 2023, there had not been any major split that could set IS-K on an altogether different trajectory. It is worth noting, however, that tension between the leadership and the Tajik Taliban of the north-east was growing fast in late 2023 and early 2024. Taliban sources, contacted by the author's research team in October 2023, reported cases of Tajik Taliban members being detained on allegations of having links to IS-K, which at least partially confirms IS-K might just be starting to make some inroads there. Disgruntled Tajik Taliban, therefore, could offer some opportunity for the terrorist group.

The Russian government under Yeltsin and later Putin destroyed much of Grozny to root out terror of separatism and defeat the Sunni Jihadists from across the Islamic world. Makes sense:

The terrorist attack was planned at the Shaman concert on March 9. During the song 'I am Russian,' terrorists break into the concert of Putin's confidant and kill hundreds of people. The perfect shot for the election." -- Холмогоров

On March 7, the U.S. Embassy in Moscow issues a press release about the possibility of large-scale terrorist attacks within 48 hours, including at concerts.

➡️ On March 9, Shaman's concert was held at Crocus City Hall.

➡️ The terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall took place on March 22.

I understand that with their statement the Americans thwarted an ideal pre-election terrorist attack, prepared by some of the European allies together with the Ukrainians.

And if the attack on March 9 had taken place - that's when all the attempts to break through RDK and other scum into Russian territory would have made sense.

Terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow | U.S. Embassy & Consulates in Russia |

March 22, 2024

The U.S. Embassy in Moscow is horrified by reports coming from the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow. We offer our sincere condolences to the Russian people for the lives lost and to those injured in tonight's attack.

As events continue to unfold, we urge U.S. citizens in Moscow to avoid the area, follow instructions of local security personnel, and monitor local media for updates. We strongly encourage U.S. citizens to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program at Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (state.gov) to receive important emergency information.

On Russia's Presidential Elections

Russia's recent presidential election occurred in an environment of intense repression of independent voices and the imprisonment, death, or exile of virtually all genuine political opposition.  The Kremlin has systematically marginalized groups advocating for democratic processes and rule of law, including election monitors.

Russian authorities also denied anti-war candidates' registration for the presidential election on spurious technical pretenses and did not invite the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, or any credible international organizations, to observe polling.  These steps illustrate the extent to which the Kremlin has denied its citizens a transparent, meaningful democratic process.  Against this backdrop, this election can only be described as undemocratic.

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Kremlin has attempted to project the illusion that the Russian public is unequivocally behind its brutal war by eliminating space for civic discourse and deepening its campaign of intimidation, violence, and censorship against independent media and civil society.  The Kremlin conducted sham presidential elections in temporarily occupied parts of Ukraine as a blatant propaganda exercise, in the hopes it would strengthen Russia's illegitimate claim to the parts of Ukraine it illegally invaded and now occupies.

At least 115 killed in Moscow concert attack, Russia says | BBC News |

  • Four people directly involved in the Moscow concert hall attack are among 11 detained, Russia's security chief tells President Putin

  • The US says it's credible that the Islamic State group could be behind the attack, after it said the group did it. Russia has not commented

  • The White House says it is working to find out more about the situation and Ukraine has denied any involvement in the attack
  • Flowers tributes are seen outside concert hall

We're currently standing opposite Crocus City Hall, the morning after at least 93 people were killed when gunmen attacked a packed concert venue on the outskirts of Moscow.

As we've recently been reporting, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) has issued a statement claiming that the terrorists involved in the Moscow Crocus City attack were planning to cross the border with Ukraine, and that they had "contacts" on the Ukrainian side.

The attackers who were detained in the Bryansk region earlier this morning were "intending to cross over to Ukraine" and had "contacts on the Ukrainian side", Russia's security agency has said, according to Russian state-owned news agency Ria Novosti.

Ukraine has called the accusation "absurd".

A spokesperson for the Ukrainian military intelligence directorate - Andriy Yusov - told the BBC that the border area with Ukraine is "full of special services and military. Also the latest events in Belgorod region and Kursk - where there is military activity - mean this is a frontline".

Last night, Ukrainian military intelligence claimed the whole attack was a planned operation by Moscow, in order to blame Ukraine - escalate the war - and get support for mobilising (a reluctant) population to fight.

For false-flag operations by an intelligence agency is a "piggy-back" style or a dual-purpose attack not uncommon. This Moscow attack was well planned over many months to put assets in place and often indicates a state coordinated and funded operation, not by a group of special forces only days in the country ...

Victoria Nuland: Two-Year Anniversary of Russia's Full-Scale Invasion of Ukraine | CSIS |

Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland's Remarks on the Two-Year Anniversary of Russia's Full-Scale Invasion of Ukraine

Week after week in the winter of 2021/2022, we watched the Russian military take up positions on three sides of Ukraine. The U.S., as you'll remember, offered negotiations [FALSE, NOT BASED ON FACTS] to try to avert Russia's planned invasion, but those negotiations sputtered quickly, because Putin had already made up his mind.

[OSCE-SMM reported from mid-February intensified shelling by UA Armed Forces hitting civilian areas of occupied Donbas]

Yet at that time, many still hoped the troop movements were just a pressure tactic; even some Ukrainians believed that.

But many feared that if Putin did order his troops in, Russia's massive military could roll over Kyiv within a week, decapitate Ukraine's democratic government, and install puppets of Moscow.

    But that did not happen.

Instead, Putin got Newton's third law, an equal and opposite reaction to everything he hoped to gain:
    ▪️ Instead of fleeing, President Zelensky led;
    ▪️ Instead of capitulating, Ukrainians fought;
▪️ Instead of fracturing, the West united; and
▪️ Instead of shrinking, NATO grew.

The U.S. rallied the world to Ukraine's defense in those early hours, days, and weeks, and we have kept that global coalition of more than 50 nations united for two years standing strongly with Ukraine.

  • The U.S. has provided $75 billion dollars in security, economic, and humanitarian assistance.

  • Europe and our global partners have provided even more--$107 billion in addition to hosting 4.5 million Ukrainian refugees in countries across Europe. And the EU just pledged another $54 billion for Ukraine.

  • Today, NATO is stronger, larger, and better resourced. Finland has joined the defensive alliance, and we'll welcome Sweden very soon.

  • Russia is globally isolated. Over 140 nations voted four times in the UN General Assembly to condemn Putin's brutal invasion. And now Putin is reliant on countries like Iran and North Korea for weapons, while he drives his country deeper and deeper into the economic and security arms of China.

  • Global sanctions, the oil-price-cap, and export controls have weakened Russia's war machine, and these restrictions will get significantly tighter in the coming days as we and our partners announce massive new sanctions packages designed, among other goals, to strangle Russia's effort at sanctions evasion.

  • In less than two years, Europe broke its dependency on Russian oil, and the U.S. doubled liquified natural gas exports across the Atlantic, helping European partners reduce their dependence on Russian gas from 40% of total consumption to just 13% today.
  • And despite all the immense challenges from Putin's vicious war machine, Ukraine has survived.

Joe Biden and coercive diplomacy does NOT COMPROMISE and does not negotiate in a position of a weak hand of cards ...

Vice President Biden delivered the keynote address at the Center for a New American Security annual conference in Washington, D.C. - 20 June 2016

... Joe and the intelligence community set the stage for anti-Russia sentiment and a series of initiatives to blame Putin for America's foreign policy failures ... out for vindication and digging the hole so much deeper to his neck. Joe got his chance in November 2020 and would like to prolong the disaster in a second term.

Tajik Foreign Ministry denies information about involvement of its citizens in terrorist attack in Moscow region

AKIpress.com - "In connection with the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert complex in Moscow, we draw attention to the need for a responsible attitude to dissemination of information about involvement of citizens of Tajikistan or Tajik citizens in this act," the Foreign Ministry of Tajikistan said in a statement on March 23.

"We emphasize that the Tajik side has not received confirmation from the Russian authorities about the fake information currently circulating about involvement of Tajik citizens. In this regard, we ask to rely on official information disseminated by Russian government agencies," the Tajik Foreign Ministry said.

"Dissemination of unverified and unreliable information can harm citizens of Tajikistan who are currently outside the country," the Foreign Ministry said in its statement.

Earlier, the Baza telegram channel reported that the identities of four of the six alleged terrorists who carried out the shooting at Crocus City Hall had allegedly become known:

It is still unknown which of them has been detained," Baza reported.

Один из подозреваемых в теракте в "Крокусе" заявил, что выбросил оружие

[One of the suspects in the Crocus attack apprehended in Bryansk district said he threw away his weapon]

RIA Novosti. During interrogation, the third suspect in the Crocus terrorist attack introduced himself as Rajab Alizadeh and admitted that he had dropped the weapon on the way to the Bryansk region along with his accomplices, as follows from the video published in Telegram channels.

According to him, when they were detained, the machine guns were no longer with them; they arrived in the Bryansk region without weapons. However, the young man was unable to answer the question of where exactly the detainees threw away their weapons, redirecting the question to "his friends" who "knew better."

Previously, a short video with the same person was published immediately after the arrest by the chairman of the RF OP Commission on Sovereignty, Patriotic Projects and Support for Veterans, Vladimir Rogov. And videos with interrogations of two more defendants appeared on Margarita Simonyan's Telegram channel.

Very early in the investigation and more question marks than clear answers and evidence ... the fog of competing secret services putting out false memes.

Russia claims it detained suspected perpetrators of Moscow shooting terror attack that killed over 100 people

The terrorist group Islamic State claimed responsibility in a Telegram post shortly after the attack ...

IS-K has in the past claimed responsibility for attacks it did not carry out. U.S. intelligence officials, however, "confirmed" the claim shortly after the post.

Just hours after the Moscow attack began, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned of retaliation against Ukraine if "terrorists of the Kyiv regime" were found to be behind them.

Ukraine's military intelligence (HUR) called the shooting a "deliberate provocation by Putin's special services." HUR claimed the attack was intended to justify "even tougher" strikes on Ukraine and total mobilization in Russia.

In a statement on March 22, Ukraine's Foreign Affairs Ministry denied Russian allegations of Ukrainian involvement in the shooting and urged the international community to reject false narratives.

"We consider such accusations to be a planned provocation by the Kremlin with the aim of further fueling anti-Ukrainian hysteria in Russian society, creating conditions for increased mobilization of Russian citizens to participate in criminal aggression against our state and discrediting Ukraine in the eyes of the international community," the ministry said.

A knowledgeable, trustworthy blogger Karlof1 @MofA translated the Putin address to the nation ...

Putin's address is short and to the point. Russians are very aware of what nation is behind the attack. And Russian resolve will be even more steadfast than ever.

    Putin's Post-Attack Message to Russia

Vladimir Putin: Dear citizens of Russia,

I am writing to you in connection with the bloody, barbaric terrorist act that killed dozens of innocent civilians - our compatriots, including children, teenagers, and women. Doctors are now fighting for the lives of the victims, those who are in serious condition. I am sure that they will do everything possible and even impossible to save the lives and health of all the wounded. Special words of gratitude to the ambulance and ambulance crews, special forces soldiers, firefighters, rescuers who did everything possible to save people's lives, get them out of the fire, out of the epicenter of fire and smoke, and avoid even greater losses.

The Federal Security Service of Russia and other law enforcement agencies are working on identifying and opening the entire base of accomplices of terrorists: those who provided them with transport, planned escape routes from the crime scene, prepared caches, caches of weapons and ammunition.

I repeat: the investigative and law enforcement agencies will do everything possible to establish all the details of the crime. But it is already obvious that we are faced not just with a carefully, cynically planned terrorist attack, but with a prepared and organized mass murder of peaceful, defenseless people. Criminals were cold-blooded and purposefully going to kill and shoot our citizens and our children at point-blank range. Like the Nazis who once carried out massacres in the occupied territories, they planned to stage a demonstration execution, a bloody act of intimidation.

All perpetrators, organizers and customers of this crime will be justly and inevitably punished. Whoever they are, whoever directs them. I repeat: we will identify and punish everyone who stands behind the terrorists, who prepared this atrocity, this blow to Russia, to our people.

We know what the threat of terrorism is. We look forward to working together with all States that sincerely share our pain and are ready to really join forces in the fight against the common enemy, international terrorism, and all its manifestations.

Ukraine will win if it emerges from the war as a free, democratic, sovereign country - Sullivan

Jake Sullivan, the national security adviser to the US president, considers Ukraine a victory if it emerges from the war as a sovereign, democratic, free country.

"I said that today Ukraine must win. And what does that mean? It means that Ukraine will emerge from this war sovereign, independent, free, able to deter future aggression, with a strong, dynamic democracy, with deep democratic institutions, with an economy that is growing not only in traditional areas, but also in high-tech areas, in areas where you innovate, and even in the face of Russian attacks, you innovate. That's what winning means," Sullivan said at a briefing in Kyiv on Wednesday.

Now, he said, "it has a decisive military dimension, which is to provide the necessary support, supplies and weapons to the brave Ukrainian soldiers so that they can effectively do what they need to do on the battlefield."

"We have intelligence cooperation, we have economic cooperation, we have diplomacy that we're doing together to work on democratic reforms and economic reforms. So it's a comprehensive, comprehensive and collaborative effort by the U.S. government that our president has identified as a key priority for the United States to Ukraine did not just win, but also achieved success," the advisor to the US president emphasized.
