CIA Intelligence Reframing Terror Into IS Khorasan

by Oui Sun Mar 24th, 2024 at 12:23:23 PM EST

US drone strikes to eliminate terror nests in Kabul as U.S. and NATO armed forces retreat in complete disgrace ... planning a new initiative elsewhere or by hybrid tactical warfare. Completing the mission.

Pentagon acknowledges Aug. 29 drone strike in Afghanistan was a tragic mistake that killed 10 civilians | CNBC - 17 Sep 2021 |

The findings of the inquiry mirrored a New York Times investigation of video evidence, along with interviews with more witnesses in Kabul.

The Pentagon has declassified and publicly released video footage of a US drone strike in Kabul that killed 10 civilians in the final hours of the chaotic American withdrawal that ended its 20-year war in Afghanistan.
The New York Times obtained the footage through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit against US Central Command, which then posted the imagery to its website.

Has anyone put out a timeline with sources of the (false) IS-K claim?

All I recall was origin an Islamic State claim on a terror website Amaq and only got attention in the media after (of course) CNN got a confirmation from "unnamed" intelligence source ... the Black Box of lies, disinformation and warmongering.

... short statement published by ISIS-affiliated news agency Amaq on Telegram on Friday. It did not provide evidence to support the claim.

Propagated further by Alex Marquardt
@MarquardtA @CNN
Chief National Security Correspondent | Ex-@ABC in Beirut/Jerusalem/Moscow

"Since November there has been "fairly specific" intelligence that ISIS-K wanted to carry out attacks in Russia, sources tell me, @NatashaBertrand, @jmhansler."

This is complete BS by Chief Reporter. ISIS-K doesn't exist. Contradiction in terms as ISIS or ISIL are IS in the Levant, Iraq and Syria. It's leader was Ibrahim Awad Ibrahim Awad Al Badry ex-detainee US Army in Abu Ghraib, birthplace Fallujah, aka Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was booted out of Al Qaeda due to senseless cruelty. IS-K or ISKP, Islamic State of the Khorasan Province are the Al Qaeda veterans of Afghanistan region. Their targets are mostly Shia Muslims in that "caliphate" ... see terror attacks in Afghanistan, Pakistan and district Baluchistan. The latter terrorists are affiliated and funded by the CIA under George W. Bush at the time.

ISIS issues a statement about the Moscow attack and publishes a photo of its perpetrators

Islamic State released on Saturday a photo of what it said were the four attackers behind a shooting rampage that killed at least 143 people in a concert hall near Moscow on Friday, the terrorist group's Amaq news agency said on Telegram.

Linked source "syria.tv" is registered domain name in the United States 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 ‼️

Doing a bit more research today where the IS claim is sourced ... and more about terror attacks from Khorasan group which are almost exclusively large suicide bombings in style of Al Qaeda in the Khorasan caliphate 🙃

Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL)

ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), also known as ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), is a Sunni jihadist group with a particularly violent ideology that calls itself a caliphate and claims religious authority over all Muslims. It was inspired by al Qaida but later publicly expelled from it. Leader was ex-detainee US Armed Forces of occupation in Iraq: Al-Baghdadi.

U.S. Military Now Says ISIS Leader Was Held in Notorious Abu Ghraib Prison | The Intercept - 25 Aug 2016 |

Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's presence at the prison in Iraq provides another possible key to the enigmatic leader's biography and may shed new light on the role U.S. detention facilities played in the rise of the Islamic State.

Today, detainee US9IZ-157911CI is better known as Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of the Islamic State. His presence at Abu Ghraib, a fact not previously made public, provides yet another possible key to the enigmatic leader's biography and may shed new light on the role U.S. detention facilities played in the rise of the Islamic State.

Experts have long known that Baghdadi spent time in U.S. custody during the occupation of Iraq. Previous reports suggested he was at Camp Bucca, a sprawling detention facility in southern Iraq. But the U.S. Army confirmed to The Intercept that Baghdadi spent most of his time in U.S. custody at the notorious Abu Ghraib.

Baghdadi's detainee records don't mention Abu Ghraib by name. But the internment serial number that U.S. forces issued when they processed him came from the infamous prison, according to Army spokesperson Troy A. Rolan Sr.

CIA and Mossad terror assets used as "freedom fighters" to spread the mission of "democracy"

Some more facts re IS & ISKP:

  • the ISKP was basically collapsed in 2019 by the USAF after it got too strong in Afghanistan .. [Not quite true - see my writings - Oui]

  • after that its strategies drastically changed from military campaigns against the Taliban to terror acts against the local population

  • a lot of restructuring happened in the local groups and in July 2020, the TTP (Pakistan Taliban) declared that  ISKP was a stooge of regional intelligence agencies and had been established to damage the jihadi movement in the region; they split

  • after the US "left" Afghanistan in 2021, ISKP ramped up its recruitment campaign, started a multi-lingual media campaign (Voice of Khurasan) and switched its targets to "the biggest enemies of [Sunni] Islam such as China, Iran and Russia," and for ignoring the "eradication of the Uighur Muslims" and the "mass murders committed by the Russian, Iran regime and its proxies" in Iraq and Syria

  • they carried out a high-profile suicide bombing on the Russian Embassy in Kabul, an attack on Chinese diplomats and businessmen at Kabul Longan Hotel, cross-border rocket attacks on Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, and an Inghimasi attack on Sikh-Hindu temple in Kabul targeting India's interests in Afghanistan

  • they went silent in Afghanistan though and during 2022/2023 we got a flurry of reports from the usual suspects that ISKP is a major threat now; here's an example report [Jamestown] of their recruitment efforts in Tajikistan, presenting themselves "as the vehicle for smashing Central Asia's arbitrarily drawn borders"

  • another report even noted: "Undoubtedly, the excessive hype around the mythical threats of ISKP in Western mainstream media is in the terrorist group's strategic interests to target potential recruits in Central Asia where youth unemployment rates are highest in the world."

fast forward to today:

  • after a 2 year silence in regard to videos, on Feb 19 2024 the ISKP released a fresh video, highly graphic, telling the world: "we're back! oh, and muslims in the Sahel, India & China are also oppressed, we need to take action!"

  • beginning of March, the Brussels police arrests 4 terror suspects, no weapons found, no court details, total silence

  • some days ago, the German police arrests 2 terror suspects, again no weapons, no details, silence again, but "link to ISKP"

    From coverage by Politico:
Islamic State Khorasan Province emerged in 2014 and has become increasingly influential in Afghanistan and Pakistan since 2021, following the withdrawal of American forces from the region.

  • today the MSM claims that ISKP is behind the Moscow attacks BUT none of the IS statements of today are talking about ISKP, zero, see below

  • MSM also claims, that recent arrests show that IS is active again

  • as experts like @Minalami claim: "Again, just to confirm, no 'wilayah' (branch) mentioned in relation to the claim. This is similar to the Iran attack in Jan -no indicated branch" or "Important to note that contrary to some reports by media outlets saying that IS's Afghanistan-focused "Khorasan Province" branch (ISKP or ISIS-K) claimed responsibility for the Moscow attack, IS has NOT claimed the attack in the name of that particular branch, at least not yet"

  • plus the "IS" attacks in Iran in January, with quite a few similarities, plus the following wave of attacks mostly in Syria and Nigeria

For me, all this looks like an orchestrated show to re-introduce the tool IS, this time as ISKP - the IS variant matching the needs of the current time & conflict: Afghanistan/Russia, Iran as well as China via "East Turkmenistan".

That whole ISKP thing is just a rebranding on the world stage plus the recruitment & move of forces to the new combat region(s) over the last 2 years by CIA & Mossad etc.

It doesn't get more obvious than that.

Oh, and just for fun: here is one of their monthly propaganda pieces attacking the official list of enemies of the USA. In their latest they called for attacking "the murtad Arab armies and governments", the "ring states", "the armies of the Gulf states that host the American bases" but not the Jews or US bases, go figure...

The Islamic State Threat in Pakistan: Trends and Scenarios | CSIS - 3 Aug 2923 |

On July 30, the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (ISKP) conducted a suicide bombing at an election rally for the Pakistani political party Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), killing at least 54 people, including a regional JUI-F leader. The attack took place in Bajaur District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Province, which borders Afghanistan. ISKP claimed the attack hours after it occurred.

The attack demonstrates that ISKP's Pakistani networks remain willing and able to conduct mass-casualty attacks on civilian targets. Islamic State (IS) networks in Pakistan will continue to pose a threat to small groups of security forces in the country's northwest but are unable to pose a meaningful challenge to the Pakistani state and unlikely to conduct attacks in the United States or Europe absent major changes in Pakistan's security and political environment.

The main problem for policymakers outside of Pakistan is that the Afghan Taliban and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have probably played a major role in weakening ISKP in Pakistan. The role of such groups in containing the threat from ISKP means that policymakers outside of the region have few appealing options for combating ISKP. It also means that counterterrorist activities against the TTP risk strengthening ISKP.

Western media follow exclusively the Pentagon narrative of the Islamic State and Amaq terror statements … so too Dutch television and the journalists.

Video IS

Amaq News, affiliated with the IS terrorist group, has distributed a video showing images of the attack. The video was made by the terrorists themselves. CNN and BBC have verified the footage, which lasts about a minute and a half.

The video shows the attackers, but their faces and voices have been blacked out. It can be seen that they open fire on people, victims lie on the ground. The footage also shows one of the attackers slitting the throat of an injured man lying on his back.

Amaq previously published a photo of four masked men who allegedly carried out the attack.

The coming era of AI and Deep Fake in hybrid warfare of competing intelligence agencies.

[Update-1]

⚡️🇷🇺🇺🇦🏴 Is #Ukraine or #IS guilty of the #Crocus Massacre⚡️

🔸There will almost certainly not be a universally accepted end result. To the facts:

1️⃣ The perpetrators were caught in the #Bryasnk region and most likely wanted to flee to #Ukraine.
2️⃣ The #US knew about attack planning and issued a travel warning for their citizens.
3️⃣ #IS terrorist involvement was almost immediately claimed by Western entities without providing any evidence, especially without #IS source.
4️⃣ The #IS Terror Organisation itself only commented in detail yesterday and took responsibility. (Video👆)
5️⃣ #The investigation is ongoing!

❗️According to the current state of knowledge, prima facie evidence (at first sight) suggests that #Ukraine is involved. IS involvement has not been proven.

🔹The belated admission by IS doesn't change anything, because IS is also known for being free riders. 🔹Even if #IS were involved, that wouldn't rule out #Ukraine or the #US or #UK being involved.
🟡#IS is pragmatic and its main enemy is #Russia. Let us remember that #IS only began to falter in #Syria when #Russia intervened and destroyed its economic structure and stopped oil sales to #Turkey by bombing oil convoys.
🟡The #US are also pragmatic and changes partners as it sees fit. Osama Bin Laden and Sadam Hussein are just 2 examples. During the Battle of Mosul in #Iraq, the #US allowed #IS troops to withdraw towards #Syria without bombing them. A short time later, Palmyra was retaken by #IS.
🟡#IS militants were treated in #Israel and some are fighting on the side of #Ukraine.

❗️Thus, there are no fixed fronts. Cooperation between #Ukraine and #IS and also the participation of the #US or #UK are conceivable.

⚖️ In Roman law, Ukraine must shatter the proof prima facie. The statements available so far are not suitable for this.

🔸These are the core facts. I warn against getting bogged down in details. For example, it is completely irrelevant whether the perpetrators behaved like #IS militants or not, since #IS now recruits anyone who is halfway suitable. The fact that the #US knew about planned terrorist attacks is a fact that is completely unsuitable for drawing any further conclusions.

📌 In conclusion, the further investigations have to be awaited and #Ukraine is forced to act in the current situation because "prima facie" is against it.

A follow-up

Haven't read through all the comments, so I may have missed some keen observations at the bar. My two cents ...

After a few days of preliminary investigation, beating the hell out of the four suspects, there is no hard evidence who paid these criminals, who planned the attack, which network operated in Moscow and why was the choice made to travel towards Bryansk and why not hide for a period of time in a safe house.

It all appears to be an operation to create confusion. The nationality is Tajik but that's it ... no extreme jihadist motive, no IS Khorasan operation as they are mostly using a suicide backpack leaving little evidence of the perpetrators. A shortcut to paradise and virgins.

The so-called Amaq link gives no evidence as the videos could have been streamed, they were not.

The early link provided by unnamed U.S. intelligence officials to CNN is very suspicious as is the so-called 7 March alert as it provided no specifics to any group of terrorists.

The denials from the Pentagon and NSC John Kirby are worth nothing. It's amazing how a narrative without any evidence can be propagated through the corporate media, news editors, journalists and opinion writers.

I'm still open minded as to who plannen and facilitated this attack. If the UA was behind this attack, the four scumbags would never have seen daylight if a new day. Waiting to see where the bodies are falling the coming days, perhaps weeks.

@ Oui #217

1️⃣ The Crocus terrorists were recruited by Valery Yevdokimov of the Ukrainian embassy in Tajikistan.

2️⃣ They were trained by British special forces in Istanbul, Turkey.

3️⃣ They were told they were jihadis being trained to kill infidels.

4️⃣ They were paid well by the British.
They were paid well by the British.
These four items are established. Then it gets murky. Victoria Nuland had promised the Russians some "nasty surprises" and liaised with Budanov. Obviously Budanov would have channels of communication with Yevdokimov, but the actual chain-of-command is still unclear, except for Yevdokimov recruiting and training the Crocus terrorists.
