Israel's EUCOM allies may be called upon to defund the International Criminal Court in The Hague in a threat of imminent arrest warrants for the Netanyahu cabal in Jerusalem. Not only are domestic criminal cases brought against Bibi Netanyahu, he may well be the first Israeli PM to be accused of genocidal acts as conceived post-WWII by Jewish scholar Lemkin after the Holocaust of Nazi Germany and the horrible Adolf Hitler gang.

See my multiple diaries about the Holocaust, war refugees, the embattled ship St. Louis, Auschwitz and the collaborators of the ugly extermination camps in Poland, Eastern Galicia and Western Ukraine.

War Crimes on Trial: The Nuremberg and Tokyo Trials

Following victory, the Allies turned to the legal system to hold Axis leaders accountable. In an unprecedented series of trials, a new meaning of justice emerged in response to war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by both the Germans and the Japanese throughout the war.

Every single day during past weeks, months the Dutch viewer has been exposed to biased reporting on the Gaza War, and evenings with reports, documentaries, films over the victimhood of the specific Jewish population in the Netherlands … indoctrination and a white-washing of what was taking place in the occupied Palestinian Territories … massive failure of the (corporate) media. Total embarrassment … complicit in genocidal acts. Damn warmongers …

The International Criminal Court could not act against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and top IDF brass without overt or tactic support from the United States an Israeli diplomatic source told The Jerusalem Post.

“Where is [US President Joe] Biden? Why is he quiet while Israel will potentially be thrown under the bus?” the source said.

The source spoke out as the Prime Minister's office is worried that the ICC will soon issue arrest warrants against Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as IDF Chief of Staff Herzl Halevi.

Sharon: An Unfulfilled Dream | Uri Avnery on 7 Jan. 2006 |

He was an Israeli Napoleon

From early youth, he was totally convinced that he was the only person in the world who could save the State of Israel. That was an absolute certainty, free of any doubt. He just knew that he must achieve supreme power, in order to fulfil the mission that fate had entrusted him with.

This belief led to a complete integration of personal egocentrism and national egocentrism. For a person who believes he has such a mission, there is no difference between the personal and the national interest. What is good for him automatically becomes good for the nation, and vice versa. This means that anyone who hinders him from attaining power is really committing a crime against the State. And anyone helping him to come to power, is really doing a patriotic deed.

The International Court of Justice will issue decision whether Germany may continue to supply weapons to Israel for the time being.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague will issue an interim ruling this afternoon in the case brought by Nicaragua regarding German arms deliveries to Israel. That country accuses Germany of complicity in genocide because it supplies Israel with weapons.

Precise evidence is needed for provisional measures, the court case continues.   For now the evidence is not there ... just as important the Court ruled the request by Nicaragua was accepted.

The case of genocide brought before the ICJ by S Africa, state of Israel has not yet been convicted. That is an important distinction ... The case @ICJ continues and has not disappointed me, complicated legal procedures and top notch legal teams ...

Hopefully the arrest warrants by the ICC do come this week ... would be helpful before the invasion and massacre in Rafah 🥵

accelerates.

Try as I might, I cannot expect either ICJ final judgment or ICC arrests to stay Israel's avenging hands. For that, law enforcement is required, but not forthcoming from Israel's international collaborators abetting the genocide of Palestine's "civilians". The evidence is all around us—dead, injured, dispossessed, starved by a 7-months long siege posing as an anti-terrorist police mission to exterminate a "national, ethnical, racial or religious" enemies of the state.

Some say, they await definitive evidence which either exemplifies or exonerates human rights "abuses," implied by UN Conventions in times of peace and the ICRC in time of war. Others fear  a "substantial" declaration of world war, or "peace", evinced as self-immolation of national, ethnical, racial or religious groups ("Arabs") armed with nuclear weapons by their clients to foreclose a "wider war in the Middle-East." Should Israel's right to self-defense ever be enjoined, any sovereign eNTitY's regulation of "attrition" might vanish along with "competition" for resources. So much strategem.

I cannot expect either ICJ moral judgments or ICC arrests to vanquish genocide, so long as state sponsors of war oppose that course of action rather than simply cede to the necessity of non-violent conflict resolution, ironically, advocated by a host of enemies, rivals, and military defense partners.

The world court rules against issuing emergency order to stop German military exports in case brought by Nicaragua | Al Jazeera |

However, the judges did not grant the German request to throw out the case altogether. The court will still hear arguments from both sides on the merits of Nicaragua's case, which will likely take months.

Salam said that the court "remains deeply concerned about the catastrophic living conditions of the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, in particular in view of the prolonged and widespread deprivation of food and other basic necessities to which they have been subjected."

He added that the court "considers it particularly important to remind all states of their international obligations relating to the transfer of arms to parties to an armed conflict, in order to avoid the risk that such arms might be used" to violate international law.

Israel Lobby-Induced "Campus Panic" Obscures Israeli Genocide | Tikun Olam |

Inflamed rhetoric by GOP and Israel Lobby induces "campus panic," which distracts from Israeli crimes

There are now over 70 Gaza encampments or protests at US universities, in addition to campuses in the UK and France. In addition to demanding an end to the war in Gaza and criticizing US support for it, students also are pressuring their institutions to divest endowments of companies which benefit from Israeli occupation. In some cases, they are also calling for the end of educational partnership and study abroad programs with Israeli universities.

There is a major difference in these new protests. They have become an organized nation-wide movement amplifying many-fold the power of the message. Prior activism did not have clear, sharp focus provided by the Gaza war. It did not have a unifying message or rallying cry as it now does. Even if this movement loses momentum once the academic year ends and students leave their campuses, this movement will have established a model for future activism.

Gaza and "Campus Panic"

Because of the power and success of this anti-war movement, power elites including the Israel Lobby, GOP, law enforcement, Wall Street, and university administrators have rallied a backlash that Samuel Catlin calls campus panic. It is related to "moral panic," defined as:

A moral panic is a widespread fear, most often an irrational one, that someone or something is a threat to the values, safety, and interests of a community or society at large. Typically, a moral panic is perpetuated by the news media, fuelled by politicians, and often results in the passage of new laws or policies that target the source of the panic. In this way, moral panic can foster increased social control.

Setting policy after the public is indoctrinated by fear ... 9/11 and Islamophobia - Israel funded FEAR INC. and right-wing groups in Europe - occupy movement - HRC loss and Putinmania ... finishing off Gadhafi and rise of AQIM, loss of the Sahel ... Syrian refugees and xenophobia. CIA and the White House launching conspiracy theories and disinformation. Untruths.

zman.co.il | "There is no doubt that Netanyahu is preventing a deal for the release of the hostages.": Gideon Alon interview with Chaim Rubenstein, former spokesperson for (Israeli) Hostage Families Forum, published 24.04.24

[...]
Did the families whose sons and daughters served in the IDF and were kidnapped in Gaza receive information from the IDF about this?
"In the early days, these families didn't know who to turn to. The IDF was not prepared to give them information. There were families of abductees who had not received information from a government official for about two weeks.

"We have started to independently investigate each and every hostage and we have also set up a website. It was not until October 20, about two weeks after the war began, that the families received word from the IDF that their sons or daughters had been killed."
[...]
At the same time, immediately after the start of the war, on October 8, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appointed Brig. Gen. Gal Hirsch to serve as the coordinator of prisoners and missing persons,"but," Rubinstein says, "Gal Hirsch's team also did not have comprehensive information on the number of abductees."
[...]
"It must be understood that Netanyahu established Hirsch's headquarters because the Netanyahu office did not want an external body to criticize the government on the subject of the abductees."

a "political" plan to enfranchise human shields representatives.
[...]
What is your explanation for why Netanyahu did not, as you claim, make an effort to get the hostages released?
"The main reason is conflict of interest. He knows that on the day the hostages are released, Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben Gvir will quit the government because, in their view, the price he will pay for the hostages' release is too high. That is why Netanyahu has thwarted any dialogue [sic] to free the hostages."
Did the serious remarks made recently on the "Uvda" program by two people involved in the negotiations team for the release of the abductees on Netanyahu surprise you?
"No. I've known about it for two months. There is no doubt that Netanyahu is preventing a deal. Netanyahu knows that if he goes to elections now he will have no one with whom to form a new government, and the consideration that guides him is a cold political [sic] one."

Netanyahu says Rafah offensive will go ahead with or without hostage deal | TOI |

Hamas set to respond Wednesday to proposal said to include 40-day truce, release of almost 1.000 Palestinian prisoners for 20-33 hostages; PM: War won't end until all goals achieved

Netanyahu, right, meets with members of the Gvura Forum and Tikva Forum in Jerusalem on April 30, 2024. (Kobi Gideon/GPO)

Israel, whose latest offer reportedly includes a 40-day pause in fighting and the release of almost a thousand Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli hostages, is thought to be making "dramatic" concessions, including in lowering the number of hostages it is seeking to see released in a first stage of the deal.

"We will wait for answers on Wednesday night and then decide" on sending a delegation to Cairo for talks, the Israeli official said. Hebrew media had reported on Monday evening that a delegation was expected to travel to Cairo on Tuesday for talks, but an Israeli official said that discussions were ongoing and no firm decision had been made.

The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) says all attempts to impede, intimidate or improperly influence its officials, need to stop immediately. Prosecutor Karim Khan's office put out a statement on social media after much speculation about possible indictments being issued against senior leadership in the Israeli Government over military conduct in Gaza. That speculation, largely from media sourcing and reporting, has seen a flurry of activity including threats of retaliation from countries like the United States. News website Axios reported this week that the ICC was being warned by members of Congress in both the Republican and Democratic Parties that arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials would be met with U.S. retaliation.
