False-flag Incident to Blame Peaceful Protest

Dutch: Early Morning Rightwing Indoctrination

On this morning's talkshow on Dutch television, I followed a broadcast, cannot describe it as a discussion, about the student protests in Amsterdam. After a few minutes it became clear a biased message was conveyed ... so I wanted to find out more about out Geerten Walings...

It was spot on ... a right-wing historian who is a writer and editor for Elseviers (Weekblad) ... not my cup of tea and indeed the voice of libertarian economic policy, somewhat comparable to Murdoch's WSJ. A policy of PM Mark Rutte that has wrecked Dutch society by denouncing left-wing politics and getting quite personal. In Dutch op de man spelen, meaning ad hominem attacks which is a negative spiral in democracy the Dutch have witnessed the last 15 years. Creating division in society ... ugly business that blew over from the United States of America after 9/11 with permanent wars, war crimes, assassinations and general violence in rhetoric and acts. US Congress much worse than advocacy from the White House. After each presidential election it gets worse and far-right fascist policy takes hold in society. So also in an aggravated manner in The Netherlands.

Teachers from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) are organizing a walk-out this morning. They are demonstrating against the attitude of the administration and police actions last week.

On Monday evening, a group of Jewish counter-demonstrators clashed with anti-Israel activists who occupied a site at the University of Amsterdam. Who were they and what did they want to achieve? EW spoke to two of them. It turns out: they also get their inspiration from the United States.

On Monday afternoon, May 6, several hundred activists occupied the lawn of the Roeterseiland complex of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). They built a tent camp and built barricades with scrap metal and driftwood. Posters, clothing and banners expressed support for the Palestinians and hatred of Israel. Terrorism was also glorified. Their goal: to force the UvA to boycott Israeli companies, universities and academics and to suspend all cooperation with Israel.

The atmosphere turned grim when fighting broke out in the early evening. EW made contact with the group of fifteen Jewish young men who entered the tent camp to wave Israeli flags and torches. Who were those guys and why did they do that?

THE JEWISH COUNTERPROTESTERS SPEAK

Through a mediator in Jewish circles, EW spoke by telephone on Monday evening, about two hours after the escalation, with two men in their twenties from the group of about fifteen Jewish young men who disrupted the demonstration. One is still studying (not at the UvA), the other is no longer studying. On the condition of anonymity ('Because otherwise we wouldn't be safe') they tell their side of the story.

'We saw that yet another demonstration was held at a university in Amsterdam, against which the municipality and the police do nothing. We wanted to come up with a counterpoint. Moreover, we saw that this was not really a pro-Palestinian protest, but rather an anti-Semitic demonstration. Pure hatred of Jews.'

'WE DID NOT WANT TO FIGHT, BUT WE WANT TO CAUSE UNRESISTANCE'

With a group of 'fifteen Jewish boys in total' the two entered the grounds of Roeterseiland, where 'a few hundred demonstrators' had camped. 'It was partly students who demonstrated peacefully. Although most of them had a keffiyeh (Arab scarf, ed.) around their faces, so that they were unrecognizable. There were some older, North African men and they were especially aggressive towards us.'

The Jewish counter-protesters carried Israeli flags and torches, such as are often lit in football stadiums. "We didn't want to fight. But we consciously wanted to cause unrest. That might persuade the police, the municipality and the university to do something about this wall demonstration.'

Former director of the Likud Israel lobby group CIDI in Amsterdam

Esther Voet (1963) was director of CIDI from March 2013 to June 2015, where she was deputy director since January 2012. She was the successor to Ronny Naftaniel.

Voet is a journalist, worked as a freelancer for many years, was editor and editor-in-chief of various magazines, regularly traveled through the Arab world and is an expert on Israel.

She was also editor-in-chief of the Jewish Yearbook and, before her departure to CIDI, she was editor-in-chief of the Nieuw Israelietisch Weekblad.

I used to have much respect for long-time CIDI director Ronny Naftaniel.

Haaretz reports the astonishing news that Francois Hollande, France’s president, asked both Israel and Palestine not to send representatives to today’s march in memory of the Charlie Hebdo and Jewish terror victims.  The French wished to confine the march and political discussion surrounding the terror attacks to the victims and the suffering nation.  They wanted to avoid having the complicating issues of the Israeli-Palestine conflict muddy the waters.

Hollande was also reacting to Netanyahu’s previous act of bad faith after the Toulouse terror attack, when he joined the funeral service and publicly called for French Jews to leave for Israel before it was too late.  Political leaders don’t forget when foreigners insult their nation, nor did Hollande.

Haven't caught Yesilgöz condemning the atrocities, massacres and acts of genocide by the Jewish State of Israel, criticizing Netanyahu, Gallant or Herzog.

In January 2022, caretaker cabinet Rutte III joined the leading countries to follow the false accusation by Israel to stop the funding of six NGOs providing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.
