About a month ago, with Donald Trump riding a wave of positive news coverage and a diminished Joe Biden fighting to stay in the race, Wall Street traders were so certain about the outcome of the 2024 presidential election that they began bidding up the prices of any asset that seemed poised to benefit. This miniboom was known as the "Trump trade", and it echoed in Silicon Valley as a group of right-leaning tech investors tripped over themselves to get behind what seemed like a sure thing.

Progressive accounts and fundraisers for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris have had their reach limited on X in recent days.
At the same time, Musk isn't giving the same freedom to liberal voices who are trying to get their messaging across before the general election.
In recent weeks, amid Kamala Harris's clinch of the Democratic presidential nomination, Musk has increasingly become more hostile towards her and her campaign. In response to a post from Senator JD Vance, Trump's running mate, Musk said that the sitting Vice President's "philosophy would cause a de facto holocaust for all of humanity!" Last week he made the false claim that "Kamala is quite literally a communist."
His angst towards Harris is also translating to what consumers see on their respective feeds. Across X, users were unable to follow KamalaHQ, Harris's campaign page. The issue was so widespread that it caught the attention of congressional leaders.
Incitement using the Hasbara pro-Israel line of WWII holocaust and from the McCarthy era of bigotry and racism ... weird accusation of being a communist ... what a genius of technocracy ... a fool on society and developing culture, not even speaking of multiculturalism. Purity of breeding ... cloning the white perfect pair ... haven't we gone through such a genocidal creed before.

And this led me recently to a look at the research that has been done over the last 60-70 years about the Authoritarian Personality. Apparently back in the 1930's in Germany, a group of social scientists wanted to understand how the people were led into such strong hatred and prejudice against Jewish people. They had to flee Germany and came to the US to continue their studies. Wikipedia has a pretty good summary of all this.
