"He is certainly not well informed," Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans (VVD) said about Donald Trump calling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a dictator. "Of course, it is Putin who is a dictator. Zelenskyy was elected in free elections," the Dutch Defense Minister said upon entering the Council of Ministers on Friday, NOS reports.

Brekelmans said he finds the American President's statements worrying as they spread disinformation. "We must ensure the facts remain clear in the entire discussion about Ukraine. And this is such a fact: Putin is a dictator, Putin invaded Ukraine, and not the other way around."

If Trump wants a nuclear Armageddon he should underestimate the existential threat for Russia to have NATO countries with their armed forces in the Ukraine ... after 11 years a small corridor of East Ukraine as buffer zone will not do.

Zelenskyy can never deliver on more rare earth elements than making a deal with Putin in combination with China president Xi Jinping.

We're just hearing from US Senator Lindsey Graham, who described the heated Oval Office meeting between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy as a "complete utter disaster".

Graham says the Ukrainian people have "fought like tigers" but adds he told Zelenskyy this morning "don't take the bait".

"I have never been more proud of the president," the Republican tells reporters, adding he is "very proud" of JD Vance.

Turning to what happens next, Graham said he does not know whether the US can do business with Zelenskyy again.

"Most Americans saw a guy [Zelenskyy] they wouldn't want to do business with," he adds.

Reuters is reporting the Ukrainian president has cancelled his scheduled appearance at the Hudson Institute in Washington.

Meanwhile, an official says Zelenskyy's appearance at Ukrainian House in the US capital has also been cancelled.

Earlier, a White House official said it is now up to Ukraine to see if a meeting with Donald Trump can be rescheduled while Zelenskyy remains in the country.
