On January 21, Ambassador of Ukraine to the State of Israel Yevhen Korniychuk met with Deputy Foreign Minister of the State of Israel Sharren Haskel.
During the meeting, Ambassador expressed his gratitude to the Deputy Minister for her previously made proposal at Knesset - to transfer to Ukraine Russian-made weapons seized by the IDF in Lebanon or elsewhere from Israel's enemies. It was noted that this initiative would represent an important step in recognizing the common threats faced by both countries. The Ukrainian side expressed hope for a positive resolution of this matter.
The parties also discussed current common challenges for both countries, including military cooperation between Iran and Russia, which poses a threat to the national security of both Ukraine and Israel. The Ambassador emphasized that successful counteraction to this threat is a shared interest for both nations.
Additionally, they discussed the intensification of bilateral contacts at the high and highest levels, as well as bilateral cooperation in the economic, consular, and humanitarian spheres.

In a rare and revealing moment, Israel's Ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, has publicly confirmed that Israel has transferred US-origin Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine -- marking the first official acknowledgment of direct Israeli military support to Kyiv since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
"The Patriot systems we once received from the United States are now in Ukraine," Brodsky said in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Marichka Dovbenko. "These were Israeli systems deployed in the early 1990s. We agreed to transfer them. Unfortunately, this hasn't been widely discussed. But when people say that Israel hasn't helped militarily -- that's simply not true."
For more than two years, Israel has walked a diplomatic tightrope, attempting to maintain neutrality in the war while offering humanitarian assistance to Ukraine -- but withholding public military aid, mainly due to concerns about provoking Russia, which controls the skies over neighboring Syria.
Now, with Brodsky's statement, a significant chapter in Israel's quiet wartime diplomacy is open to public scrutiny.
