Palestinians rush to new aid centers in Gaza as chaos erupts

The other shoe has dropped. Donald Trump has ended the will-he-won't-he mystery of joining Israel's war against Iran. Always one to choose the grand gesture, the US president has let loose the dogs of war, with B-2 bombers dropping six bunker-buster bombs on all three known Iranian nuclear sites (Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordo). US forces also launched Tomahawk missiles at unspecified Iranian targets.
In a bit of dark irony, the United States conveyed a diplomatic message to Iran saying that its aggression was directed at its nuclear program and not intended to promote regime change. But Trump's partner in crime, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has very explicitly stated that this was Israel's goal. Trump posted on Truth Social on Sunday, "Why wouldn't there be a Regime change???" And the US attack seriously weakens the clerical regime, which may lead directly to what the United States denies it advocates: regime change.
The Israeli leader further claimed that Israel's attack aimed to destroy Iran's nuclear facilities. That's only partially true: it is intent on destroying not only the country's nuclear capability but the entire infrastructure of Iranian society. It has attacked oil depots, the national broadcaster, an airport, and industrial plants. And that's just in the first phase.

Another of Israel's worst-kept secrets is out: Shin Bet is arming and funding 600 to 1,000 Palestinian mercenaries from the al-Shabab clan in Gaza to sow chaos and counter Hamas by proxy.
These gunmen fire directly at starving Palestinians seeking the aid provided by Israeli-US disaster humanitarianism, with over 100 killed since the program began in what's been described as human "hunger games."
Israel claims that it doesn't supply either light weapons or salaries to these thugs and that the weapons are captured from Hamas. But given the Israeli army's history of lying, there's reason to be sceptical.
Writing in Haaretz, Yossi Melman exposed another covert layer of Israel's aid effort, designed in part to sideline independent NGOs. This is, of course, the shadowy group called the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which has funded and managed the operation, aided by former US Special Forces operatives. Melman reveals for the first time that Mossad created the dummy foundation in Switzerland.
Its opaque funding, it turns out, came directly from Israel's Defense Ministry, to the tune of $140 million per month.

This is how Netanyahu reacted last week to MK Avigdor Lieberman's revelation that the Israeli security establishment has been operating an armed militia in Gaza, whose personnel are affiliated with ISIS. The leader of the militia is Yasser Abu Shabab, a member of a large Bedouin family from Rafah.
Netanyahu accused Lieberman of revealing a state secret, but by confirming the information, the prime minister himself became an accomplice. This may hamper any future efforts by Israeli intelligence services to recruit agents and collaborators.
Israel and the 'Popular Forces' in Gaza: A Creative Move with a Cautionary Note
In recent months, Israel has begun assisting internal forces within the Gaza Strip to apply pressure on Hamas. Although Yasser Abu Shabab, the leader of these forces, does not hesitate to criticize the terrorist organization publicly, caution is warranted regarding a scenario in which his militia might, in the future, turn its weapons against Israel.
The chairman of the "Israel Beiteinu" party, Knesset Member Avigdor Lieberman, revealed in an interview on Israel Radio's Reshet Bet on June 5 that in recent months, the Israeli defense establishment has transferred dozens to hundreds of Kalashnikov rifles and pistols "to various clans in Gaza, some affiliated with ISIS." According to him, this assistance--transferred to criminal families in the Gaza Strip--was carried out under the leadership of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet), upon the recommendation and approval of the IDF and under the directives of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This was done without obtaining the required prior approval from the Cabinet.
Lieberman further asserted that this assistance was provided "just as Netanyahu previously tried to build up Hamas as a counterweight to the Palestinian Authority. Now he's building ISIS as a counterweight to Hamas." Netanyahu's office did not deny the claims, stating that "Israel is working to bring about Hamas's defeat through various and diverse means, as recommended by all heads of the security establishment."
In practice, the recipient of the weapons, which were seized by IDF forces during Operation Iron Swords, is a new Palestinian force consisting of several hundred armed men (some of them former prisoners released from Hamas prisons). This force operates in the Rafah area, particularly in the eastern part of the southern city, and goes by the name "Popular Forces."
The force is headed by Yasser Abu Shabab, a 32-year-old native of Rafah and member of the Bedouin al-Tarabin tribe--one of the largest in the Gaza Strip (with members also living in the Sinai Peninsula and the Negev). Initially, Abu Shabab referred to the force as the "Counter-Terrorism Unit," but since May 10 of this year, it has been presented under its new name--the "Popular Forces." The members of the force are armed with assault rifles, wear uniforms bearing the Palestinian flag with the English inscription "Counter Terrorism Unit," and are deployed mainly in the area of Rafah, near the Kerem Shalom crossing.
